Update from an old-school Tech. That is an Acadian oil skin. Equal parts dubin and beeswax. Some duck oil helps a bunch too. Set that into a muffin tin and when it's roughly solid drop a drill wire brush on to it. Drill wax the shit out of your construction gear and melt it in with iron and parchment paper. The finer the weave and heavier of the canvas twill is better. I've used that gear from the Canadian Rockies to the North Atlantic.

I thought the extra comment might help engagement. I've never used the solvent I've just used grinding it into the skins. I do it to my leather's too. I use crazyCanuck gear for Motocross. It's a weird North Rockies Flex. My armor is canvas with boiled Moosehead covered in roadsign armor. Certain parts are covered in logging truck tire. Some folk think it's a little overkill. They just haven't seen me to wear to a bar yet.
