The Decision That Changed AMARI BAILEY NBA Career! Stunted Growth

  • Not even a month after what would be his final college basketball game, Amari Bailey’s mother declared that her son was not only entering the NBA draft and testing the waters, but was in to stay, or in her words, “full Fledged in”. Bailey competed in 1 season with the UCLA Bruins, where he had an up and down year that started off a disappointment for the nations top 10 prospect according to 247, former California Mr Basketball, McDonald’s all American and Sierra Canyon star, averaging just 10ppg through the first 20 games. A lot of expectations were placed on Bailey to be a one and done prospect, and I think that got to everyone’s head around him to live up to those and it cost him to skip steps contrary to what some NBA writers believe, and now after just one year in the NBA, 10 games to be exact, the Hornets have chosen not to submit a qualifying offer to their 2nd round pick for a little more than a million dollars to keep the 20 year old around much longer. He’s now an unrestricted free agent, searching for a new NBA home, when he could’ve been one of the top picks in the 2024 NBA draft with much more certainty about his future. He's a part of the Clippers summer league team, so hopefully he gets another chance and better fit this time around. The Decision That Changed AMARI BAILEY NBA Career! Stunted Growth

It was over after Drake gave him that #10 chain. His head became a hot air balloon of gas. Sad, because he had a decent freshman year to secure a starting spot in college to develop at a high profile school his sophomore year. These prospects all need to watch the Lenny Cooke movie

They need to start forcing them to shoot in practice and force them to catch and shoot from the corner and top of the key in game. That would literally fix the issue(if they even care)
they just have to be able to shoot from beyond the 3 point line and the rest of their game will be fixed as a result. Except idk if that would fix amari having less assists than turnovers that’s kind of insane for a sg/pg

As a ucla fan it’s just a really unfortunate situation. I get why he left because he really was playing great ball at the end of the season last year. Once Clark and Bona went down it figured that we had no shot at making a run in the tourney but Amari stepped up in a big way and became the number 2 scoring option behind Jaime jacquez. He even had the go ahead shot against Gonzaga in the sweet 16 with under 10 seconds that would’ve been the game winner if not for a strawther half court shot. If that shot misses, ucla wins goes to the elite 8 and I think Amari might be a first round pick and thriving rn. It just sucks because last year if he stayed which im hindsight he should’ve he would’ve been the number 1 option last year and a lottery pick instead of a guy who didn’t get his contract picked up for his second season. and ucla would’ve been atleast a tournament team and possibly a sweet 16 or better but they just didn’t have anything close to a number 1 option. I wish Amari well and i believe in him but getting picked by the hornets was the worst thing for his career. The second it happened I knew his career was in serious jeapaordy(which it is).

Just a case of being mis scouted. Physical ability, but not actually a good 5 on 5 player with an actual position, he's not a point guard and he isn't a great shooting guard
