We just happened to be in the same music store at the same time. Slightly different ages. But we jammed. He's older than me. But it was fuckin' killer. He has obviously gotten famous and for good reason. Just pure happenstance that it happened
I was front row for this. Bonnaroo 2002. So many memories. Bernies keys broke my eardrums in a beautiful way, Les stalking and looking at Buckethead like “what the hell you doin” because he was standing there like a mannequin for a hot minute then Buckethead shredding his guitar with alien fingers…priceless.
Hey Jamel, since you have become a Les Claypool fan....have you heard of The Claypool Lennon Delirium? It is a side project of Les Claypool with Sean Lennon, John Lennon's son. They surely are worth a listen or even a reaction...If you ask me.
THE DRUMMER BRAIN IS AMAZING BEEN FILLING IN FOR BANDS AS ( GUNS N ROSES, PRAXIS, PRIMUS & GODFLESH ) TO NAME A FEW THANKS FOR THIS REACTION JAMEL_AKA_JAMAL & GRIFFIN BROTHERS ✌🏼& LO💚E MY BROTHERS
I've literally been listening to this very clip since I was in highschool, and I'm 31 now lmao. This will absolutely never ever get old man.!!! I still jam to this shit on the regular. 🤣🤣🤣💙💙💙
Fun fact : Buckethead's baritone guitars (with a kill switch) are suited to his size (6ft6). Could be also suited for you too! Please also check out C2B3 Opening Jam, more funk in the trunk. And Parliament "Flashlight" for more Bernie Worrell synth galore.
You’re getting into the good stuff, props to whoever recommended Buckethead! Nottingham Lace is a great song! Buckethead holds the record for the most albums put out, EVER. Some of them are a bit avant-garde but the dude just keeps it flowing out.. From songs like this to more chin songs like “for mom”(pretty much all of Colma) bringing it back up with songs like “The redeem team” and getting absolutely into the mind of an insane person with “island of lost minds”(this is one that should be listened to a bit later after you listen to his technical and realize his skill, then you can appreciate the wildness of the composition).. This is a rabbit hole you should definitely go down!
The first person I've seen mention The Redeem Team ever. That opening to that song matched with that hard driving riff. In my opinion it really shows his level of diversity in one song.
Enjoy watching the closeness of the 3 brothers having fun together experiencing music, that's the best!!Again being only 4'foot 11"inches the extreme contrast in height is fascinating.✌
I was in that crowd and saw the performance. Seems like it was yesterday... hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago. Shocked that more attendees weren't in that tent.
That’s the best way to describing when you first listen to Les Claypool.. the bass has never been the same in any other piece of music I’ve listened to since! You absolutely MUST listen to VICTOR WOOTEN! Victor and Les both have the double slap down pat!
I've seen and interacted with bucket over the years... First time I seen him with Les and brain in primus for anti pop... I was 16... I've seen bucket many many times... Maybe a dozen.... My autistic son loves him like I do... He's the greatest artist maybe if all time... You all know he's in the under cover brother video sitting with Snoop and gang.... Legend.
Yeah... this the one I wanted to see. By the way , Bernie Worrell, the 3rd name, was with Parliament, a group I was reminded of by Les's mask. One of the P-funk used to wear a mask with a long rubber nose.
Ya baby. Sir Nose all day long. My sister got high with him during a George Clinton and PFunk show. Bitch didn't even call me. I was there! We were there together- she goes to the bathroom, runs into him, and off they go to smoke a joint. Geesh!
We rolled into Philly one night and caught these guys. Everyone that came to see these guys were musicians and players. Everybody walked in excited and completely stoked. Then the lights went down and the boys took the stage and proceeded to completely tear the place up. When it was time to go every last one of us walked out with our heads down looking for the spot to burn all of our gear knowing what had just taken place was a whole another level of playing. LMAO!!!! Everyone was like well I better find another hobby cuz those boys are holding court. Lol...Awesome night out.
I saw Buckethead and Claypool at a outdoor show in Colorado. Before the show Buckethead went to the Elitch Gardens Theme Park I was at and he was giving away kitchen items, random baby care products and tickets to the show. He had a handler she was walking him around. I walked up to say hello and his handler said Want to shake his hand? I stuck my hand out and Buckethead lifted his arm like it was hydromechanical. The mans hand was twice the size of mine. He didn't close his hand it was a open shake. As soon as I, if you wanna call shaking his hand, was done the arm went slowly down like a robot. He went into his rain coat pocket came back up slowly with a ticket. His handler said "Buckethead would like you to come to his show tonight. I said thank you to her and him. He didn't say a word. He turned slowly and they walked away. I didn't get any of his weird gifts but I did go to the show and it was out of this world. A memory I'll never forget.
They literally just made that whole piece up on the spot improvisation. No practice or prep and it came out great. Big B is definitely on another level musically. Check out his Bermuda Triangle album. It’s basically a hip hop album he did and it’s a masterpiece
I'd like to note that les is a tall man. And he has to look up to bucket head. I'd be willing to bet he's a couple inches taller than Jamel... Although it'd be close for sure.
If the people from the purge came and kicked your door in, all's you and your brothers would have to do is stand up and they'd be like "oh shit my bad" and they'd walk back out and shut your door.

RIP Bernie. I was sitting next to him in the airport a few years ago, and got to thank him for all the music. Funkadelic is ESSENTIAL LISTENING.
Make My Funk The P-Funk
Buckethead has a slight heart condition that may be worsening.
Pray for Buckethead.
Giants don't last long. I won't forget.
🙏🏽 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
He is still here
Saw Les Claypool and Buckethead together once, an amazing musical overload, and one of my best live experiences ever.
I was lucky enough to jam with Buckethead when I was just a beginner at Bass. He wasn't Buckethead yet. And I didn't know until years later.
How did that happen?
Wow
awsome, most ppl never saw his face
I wish I would have been so luck wow
We just happened to be in the same music store at the same time. Slightly different ages. But we jammed. He's older than me. But it was fuckin' killer. He has obviously gotten famous and for good reason. Just pure happenstance that it happened
This combo was awesome!!!!! Bernie Worrell is from Parliament/Funkadelic
And Talking Heads
and Praxis
Bucket of Bernie Brains is basically Praxis with Claypool instead of Bootsie
I was front row for this. Bonnaroo 2002. So many memories. Bernies keys broke my eardrums in a beautiful way, Les stalking and looking at Buckethead like “what the hell you doin” because he was standing there like a mannequin for a hot minute then Buckethead shredding his guitar with alien fingers…priceless.
I was there too. Great time... Discovered Govt Mule and so many others that weekend!
Jamel killed me when he said imagine being tied to a chair and they're playing that music and coming at you with that mask on lmfao I about died 😂😂😂
Hey Jamel,
since you have become a Les Claypool fan....have you heard of The Claypool Lennon Delirium?
It is a side project of Les Claypool with Sean Lennon, John Lennon's son.
They surely are worth a listen or even a reaction...If you ask me.
Especially the first track “ Little Fishes” on the album South Of Reality
Amazing content from the delirium. Definitely worth looking into

Love this clip, watched it many times. It would be cool to see the whole concert.
Thanks for another entertaining video.

Man I've been a huge fan of Buckethead since I was 13. And claypool before that. Now I'm 26.
Love watching you react to my musical heroes

I think Claypool's outfit is a homage to Malcom McDowell's character in A Clockwork Orange. Actually a pretty dark reference.
I was in that crowd and saw the performance. Seems like it was yesterday... hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago. Shocked that more attendees weren't in that tent.
The combo of rock and funk in this jam is unbelievable, reminds me of a funkjazz band called yellow jacket.
That’s the best way to describing when you first listen to Les Claypool.. the bass has never been the same in any other piece of music I’ve listened to since! You absolutely MUST listen to VICTOR WOOTEN! Victor and Les both have the double slap down pat!
Love Victor Wooten. Saw Claypool in the basement of a bar called Jillian's in Louisville, KY and then Victor Wooten at the same place within 2 weeks.
RIP Bernie Worrell
Absolute legend

Bernie Worrell was the keyboard player for Talking Heads
Col, Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains! I was there for this fest. What a weekend........
That bass line man, claypool was the guy who got me listening to bass
Don't forget the late great Bernie Worrell... ex member of Parliament-Funkadelic and The Talking Heads!
DUDE! WHAT!?!?
AHY brother! A LA CHINGADA!!
Y'all know rock!
These 4 artists deserve a statue man.

This is one of my favorite colabs ever.
Bernie Worrell invented the sound of P Funk
Colonel Claypools Bucket of Bernie Brains. Such a great record.
They were calling themselves, A Bucket Of Bernie Brains.
Les also recorded under, The Flying Frog Bergade.
I like watching reaction videos so I'm not the only one in the room jamming
Less's hat and mask is a nod to Bernie's previous bands costumes, parliament/funkadelic. time for more pfunk gentlemen
We need the funk!
You guys are so uplifting
Drummer spot on.
Right on,got the Primus and Buckethead on,you got my attention, these guys Rock. 🤘
2:47 is what happiness sounds like.
This song hits so hard.
Great clip, been watching this since my brother came back from that bonaroo (probably one of the first few, 2003 or 04) with the DVD!
Now you can do some PFunk to explore more Bernie.
ua-cam.com/video/s8G4q52EsCc/v-deo.html With Govt Mule for even more funky stuff.
Bucket head once made a deal with the devil. He would give the devil the face he wore in exchange for mastery of the guitar.
Yoooo I was at this show that’s crazy!! Bucket of Bernie BrAins was always funked all the way out appreciate the reaction ✌️❤️✌️❤️
These guys are great. Their reactions are honest, and they are open-minded. They are three gentle giants.
They literally just made that whole piece up on the spot improvisation. No practice or prep and it came out great. Big B is definitely on another level musically. Check out his Bermuda Triangle album. It’s basically a hip hop album he did and it’s a masterpiece
I saw these guys live on this same tour in Asheville NC
I don't know what I enjoyed more, the music or the review. Thanks guys!
The Confederate Sir Nose DeVoidofFunk vibe is sick.....The vibe. I really enjoyed this Bro..
One crazy band✌️
You don't find Buckethead
Buckethead finds you.
I'd like to note that les is a tall man.
And he has to look up to bucket head. I'd be willing to bet he's a couple inches taller than Jamel... Although it'd be close for sure.
This is pure art
Welcome to the World of Buckethead!

Dance Gavin Dance - Turn off the Lights, I’m Watching Back to the Future pt2
(Acceptance Speech 2.0 version)
Dude. Man. Understand this. Bernie Worrell was the keyboard player in the bangin' Talking Heads video you posted.
Bucket head's real name is Brian Warner. he wishes to stay anonymous from photo's to live a normal life. He is in his mid 50"s.
