I really enjoyed reacting to Buckethead's music! Thank you, again, Jake! I was a goofy mess, during this reaction, as usual, but dammit, Wolf... why did you have to show it off to the world, lol?? Oh lord... xDDDDD
You want bass played as guitar? I recommend the British duo ROYAL BLOOD. Bass and drums - that's it. They make a joyous racket. I humbly suggest you try "Figure It Out" and "Ten Tonne Skeleton".
Electric Tears is probably my favorite album from him. The songs "The way to heaven" and "Angel Monster" are those type of songs where you just close your eyes and feel. The Way To Heaven - ua-cam.com/video/20h3QmWIT3I/v-deo.html Angel Monster - ua-cam.com/video/zYJc4soG9-o/v-deo.html
Buckethead is my favorite artist on earth. "He was born in a coop, raised in a cage. He's half alive, He's half dead. Folks just call him buckethead." I think he may have the biggest record list of all time. His Pikes are to die for.
By the way, Buckethead's tribute to his mom after she died in 2013 is a masterpiece, half an hour of relentless riffs and sharp solos. It is called "Hold Me Forever (In memory of my mom Nancy York Carroll)", also known as Pike 65. And I have heard all of his solo work indeed. Took me more than half a year, and for sure, a majority of it is experimental or simply not that good. I picked my own "best of Buckethead", just the stuff I can listen to every day; the playlist is still over 20 hours long.
I'm attempting to do the same right now with Pink Floyd, including all of their solo albums. I'm about 7 albums of roughly 25 in and it's already over two hours.
One of Buckethead's teachers was the great Paul Gilbert from Racer X and Mr. Big. Buckethead has collaborated with a TON of artists over the years, and Bootsy Collins (the bassist from Pfunk; dude with the star sunglasses) worked with him and helped him gain more notoriety. If you want some more Buckethead recommendations, I'd suggest the whole album of Population Override (kind of in the same vein as this song); all of The Elephant Man's Alarm-Clock; and the whole album of Colma is great. The other side of Buckethead is kind like a mix between Disneyland and Texas Chainsaw Massacre; this can be heard in his Welcome to Buckethead Land album. Decoding the Tomb of Bansheebot gives a really good overall feel for what Buckethead is all about, imo. And since you mentioned System of a Down at the end of the video, definitely check out Buckethead and Friends: Enter the Chicken. It's a collaboration album that he did with Serj Tankian and a bunch of other guests; including Maximum Bob who was the singer in a past band Buckethead was in called The Deli Creeps (definitely weird and worth checking out). Other must not miss songs would be: Nottingham Lace; Lotus Island; Plastination Station; Padmasana; Crack the Sky; Help Help Help!; King James; Lebrontron; The Fairy and the Devil; (and of course his most famous songs) Jordan, and Soothsayer (I would throw in Sail on Soothsayer as well since it's a sequel; both were written for his aunt who was battling cancer. The second song was written after she lost her battle.)
With music, there is a vertical skill cap, but not a horizontal one. Buckethead has diversified his 'musical portfolio' to the point of making 300 albums, most of which sound unique. Funk, rock, experimental, metal, clean, grunge, everything. While still commanding a unique style and maintaining a level of character in his music.
Colma is a masterpiece... Population overdrive, electric fucking sea... Electric tears.... One of the best albums... Also he plays over 30 music genres.... Over those 300 albums... Not all of them are outstanding... But he just explored music boundaries... Thats why... You have to take Buckethead for what he is... All round best guitarist ever and... An explorer of music... He always wants to see if theres something new he can produce... Music is his life... Thats all there is to it. I never listened to all the albums but... Majority of them and it is what it is. Love you both and long live Buckheat, the musician who lived for music and his own thing despite all the great offers he had from some of the biggest artists in the music industry...
React to Soothsayer or Sunbursts by Buckethead if you want to have a good start trying out his music. Honestly just listen to this comment not other recommended songs even though there are loads and loads of other masterpieces he has created, but these are fantastic to start with. Hope you read this!
I love y'all. Thank you for reacting to Buckethead. I am 59 and just found out about him. So, Miss Half Sistah... I feel your emotions in every song you react to! And, Mr. Wolfgang , I like your knowledge about music. Buckethead has severe stage fright and that is why he wears the mask and bucket. Do you know if this statement is true or false? Please let me know. You guys are adorable. And anyone who loves Tarja and Buckethead like I do are at the top of my list. Keep rockin
This Buckethead album is near and dear to my heart. My dad and I used to listen to this all the time when I was a little kid. A couple years ago, we grew apart because of his wife and this album just reminds me of those good days.
Yeah, he was gonna work with Ozzy, but Ozzy insisted that he remove the bucket at least haha but he was like "he insisted on keeping the bucket, I was thinking about writing with him, but that damned bucket!" something along those lines. I vaguely remember the interview. But, I'd never heard he played with Primus! I'd only knew he'd taken slash's place for like 4 years when slash was with velvet revolver! Great video! Love you both!
Buckethead on March 9th in Dallas, Babymetal and Alice Cooper last year. I think that seeing Alice from 1976 up till 2018. He performed 21 songs and over two hours. Nita Strauss is so good and has feeling. The Halo of Flies with Alice as conductor. The Dwight Frye and Only Women Bleed. On Buckethead there is the Led Zeppelin melody and Smooth Criminal ... Jordon and Soothsayer, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass. Tons of tunes and he is 6'6" should be a great show. I still don't know if he will be playing to a beat box or if he will have a band this go round. Love the channel. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
This reaction to Buckethead is Perfect. Colma was my first album of his and I cried. I would love to give you music to react to. I felt love here.. Thank you❤️
Hello ! If you liked Buckethead, may i suggest : "Flat Feet" (Pike 87) : this one sounds... heroic. "Chickencoopscope" (Pike 149) : this one is... joyfull "Crane" (Pike 90) : this one feels... heartbreaking "Drift" (Pike 231) : this one will... transport you By the way, nice presentation, keep everything like this
Not sure about other Buckethead material; but that particular piece - for me at least; reminded me very much of Thom Rotella. It certainly had the guitar timbre and sweetness Thom Rotella imbues much of his music with... Good to see you guys keep the spice and fun in your relationship!! Nothing wrong with making one's love life, creative and adventurous - kind of how one appreciates one's music!!! 👍👍🙂
Buckethead may have an odd persona but in the only out of character interview (on a podcast), he said his dream was to build an amusement park for children. Great guy.
Benjamin Todd using again, One man, One guitar, One request..If this song is meant to change your life like it changed mine, I have faith it will find the people that it's meant to!
I think you both would really enjoy Architects // The Distant Blue, it's a very dynamic and big song. The story of their band is very compelling and engaging too. Cheers!
I largely agree with your comments about Jimi Hendrix, but there's another legend (IMO) that equals Hendrix when it came to his guitar melding into the guitarist's being, and his name was the GREAT Stevie Ray Vaughan.
@halflifesistah, I have something in mind that I know that you will love! It will remind you of nightwish and Mozart, Rhapsody of fire - the magic of the wizard's dream (featuring actor Christopher Lee) I highly suggest that song!
As someone who owns almost 300 of his albums (great package deal) and a guitarist myself, he is not only technically one of, if not the best, but compositionally he is untouchable. The variety of his compositions is astounding.
Oh no the reaction for "Jaakko Teppo - Hilma ja Onni 1981 with Marco Hietala's version" went away too fast :( Luckily I watched the first 15 minutes before it did. I refressed and was going to make more comments about that song. But thanks for that emotional reaction for the original version :)
I can't wait for the Les Claypool reaction! Tommy the Cat is an amazing start, but anything from Colenel Claypool's Fabulous Flying Frog Brigade would work too.
The reason why he wears a KFC bucket is because him and a friend were at Bucketheads house eating kfc and his friend said jokingly hey you should play guitar with a bucket on your head
CANNOT FUCKING WAIT FOR PRIMUS! Primus sucks! Excuse my foul fucking mouth, I'm just excited. Caveat to Buckethead imitating Tom Morello: It's a minor gripe not a big one, but he has a break built into a button where a volume nob would otherwise be as opposed to Tom who gets a break from using the toggle nob while playing which to me is far more innovative and difficult.
I called it a killswitch instead of a break, but I agree, nothing beats the original, that is why I called it an imitation lol. It's always easier to copy the innovator and Tom is certainly one of a kind 💯✊🤘
React to "Masters of Destiny" by DELAIN, gonna say just that they really KICKED ASS with the song.. Keep you at at least spoilers as possible (if that's even possible :P) :D

This video clip is just one song of the full live show from The Paradisio in Holland. The whole show is as good ass it gets. BETH is the epitome of passion and a free spirit that is what is music is supposed to be about. Please just give it a shot Please react to this Beth Hart live video. It's unlike anything you've done. I guarantee top 5 video you've ever seen. Any genre. Here's the link ua-cam.com/video/UgrBn072lMU/v-deo.html. If this isn't in your top 5 live performance I'll be shocked

Buckethead is one of my favs. Btw cant watch til i get home but im commenting now cuz im so early and happy you chose to hear Buckethead
You want bass played as guitar? I recommend the British duo ROYAL BLOOD. Bass and drums - that's it. They make a joyous racket. I humbly suggest you try "Figure It Out" and "Ten Tonne Skeleton".

I got fridge alphabet magnets 😀
LOVE this!! 🎶💙🎶
R.I.P. Nancy Carroll... 💔
He never played with Ozzy, but did play with Praxis, Guns n Roses And Primus...one hell of a guitarist...
he has played with maaaannny more musicians than that. God I would to have seen him with Primus and Umphreys Mcgee.
The only reason he didn't work for Ozzy is they asked him to lose the bucket and he said fuck that.
He was a member of black sabbath for a short period of time but left due to ozzy's demands that he remove the bucket and mask
@@phatjesus57 no wtf

Buckethead=Love
Buckethead has albums that span multiple genres so some people don't like all the catalogue but his music is undeniably some of the best out there
By the way, Buckethead's tribute to his mom after she died in 2013 is a masterpiece, half an hour of relentless riffs and sharp solos. It is called "Hold Me Forever (In memory of my mom Nancy York Carroll)", also known as Pike 65.

4 years later I want to tell you to dig a little deeper, a majority is good imo. So much good stuff has come out since then, hope you enjoy!
You’ve seen “For Mom”... now it’s time for “Watching the Boats with My Dad” :)

Devin Townsend - Universal Flame ( Live at the Royal Albert Hall )
You have to watch Buckethead live... the greatest player I have seen, he can play anything any way.
