- I am running a water line to my shed. I cut into my existing water line and branched off a line to my outbuilding. Watch as I go about doing it and show you how to get it done.

Total beast. Tackling this in the dark on his own while filming says it all. Absolute confidence
"Tap this with a rubber mallet....rubber mallet only folks." Hahaha lmao. I love you man, you crack me up.
Okay I'm going to turn the water on... I thought Connor had a phone app for that but it was Sister Ward the trusted apprentice.
Yeah, great app. 5 stars.
That was a massive job, you don’t do simple jobs just dig 5ft down and fill in tonnes of soil. Hats off to you 👏.
You are a total boss - watching your videos gives me confidence to do more projects on my own. Curious about your sewage run... sounds like a messier job lol
Thank you Connor you are a constant source of entertainment and your lovely wife must be a Saint to allow you such a large amount of latitude on projects, purchases, schemes, no room to park her car in the garage and in particular allowing you to use a rather large excavator in your own back yard!
Getting close to that 1st bubble bath in the sheshed. 😂 jk, much respect on all your hard work. Great job 👍🏻
Connor you are a man of many different talents. I would be too scared to tackle the projects you do.
Just be patient, have confidence in yourself, and use your common sense, and you’ll be able to tackle just about any project you need to do. If you make a mistake and have to hire someone to do it... heck you were going to pay someone anyway, at least you tried
Fear is what keeps us from doing/trying out new things.
great video as usual. But i have notice that 'Her indoors' always turns up when the work is done usually at the end of the video...My wife does the same, she has a middle name...she's called 'Blister' because she always turns up when the hard work is done...tee hee
who doesn't like doing outdoor plumbing in the cold. THE WORST!! im cold just watching this
Nice job! Plywood would’ve saved most of your yard restoration. We plank everything when we bring mini ex’s, bobcats, dingos, etc. In people’s yards to do construction work.
Yes I really should have. Didn't even think about that
I doubt there's not too many jobs Connor won't tackle. He's driven beyond belief.
most of them are not hard or difficult.. just takes effort
Loved that outtro with Mrs. Lawn Rebel.
What o what could go wrong with this? I'm commenting before watching, so I'll be disappointed if nothing does!
Smart man you are
@@lawnrebel I was not disappointed lol
Oh gosh what do we have here now😒
I've been waiting a whole year for shed build progress etc. Love that you do it all!
yeah it got put on hold there for a minute because summer came and I would rather work on the lawn.
I’m sure we’ll see more shed videos now
glad you had that reducer "the hardware store closes at 6" is all too common when working on anything plumbing.
The amount of trenches for one shed. couldn't we have killed 3 birds with one stone?? Anyways i appreciate others suffering as i've been in those same positions way too many times!! Keep up the great work!!!
oh yeah... you NEVER have what you need the first time... No matter how much you prepare.
Rubber mallet only folks, smacks the shit out of pipe with other pipe section lol you are my spirit animal CW
I dont want to be blamed for not telling how to really do it.
I built a planting mound in my yard. Angrily chanting “I can’t believe I broke that water line AGAIN!” Followed by water shut off, trip to store, and line repair became my claim to fame on several occasions.
I love the humor and realism of this video. It was also greatly helpful for me to learn how the blue pipe works. Thanks for the reality and chuckles!!!
Sorry to be a Ryan Knorr but as a Civil Engineer, I feel it my duty to put my Health and Safety hat on, and say entering a trench with unsupported sides is a big no no. Especially as you were crouching in the trench when you'd dentified the sides were falling in and excavated material was close to the edge. I'd put that one down as a near miss!
Thanks Sally
@@lawnrebel you're welcome.
Having seen people crushed I must agree.
Home depot by me had pvc and drain pipe in same aisle, and fittings mixed between two separate aisles......confusing as heck
Another great “how to”. My basement is now floaded though, I must have missed a step
Glad you're done with that. Trench work can be dangerous! Also, we need more of the chimney job if you don't mind😁😁
Next video: Connor drives a Caterpillar 795F or BelAZ))
Great job! Greetings from Norway. Just be careful working alone in the trench. It can collapse, and you will be buried alive.
Sweet! Another “how to” video!
Anytime you have connection points or any other current or future access points on something buried back fill around it with sand. It not only marks it when you dig it back up but makes it easier to hand dig around it.
Yes sir absolutely..
Solid gold advice.
Dude you are a one man construction crew. You are my favourite lawn channel
Brother, there is DIY but then there is Connor Ward. You will tackle anything. Props to you. You ain’t gonna see Ryan Knorr or Hayne doing this. Haha
Idk anything about any of this... and I just watched the whole thing 😐 still don't know anything about any of it 🙃 😭
Good "How To" for marrying well, like the lucky lady married to Connor did - or hiring a plumber.
I must say you definitely break alot of stuff in the process of installing new stuff. Wayyyyy more work than necessary!!! You should draw up a diagram of all the stuff buried in your yard cause there is a lot!
But what fun would that be lol
Nice job man.. Surprised they used galvanized pipe, not up to code here in Jersey since it builds up deposits and corrodes.
yeah I wonder if that old stuff was stainless. The new fittings that I put in were galvanized. Those fittings that i dug up have been there for 7 years.
@@lawnrebel You should be good for the next 50+ years so let the next guy worry about it. I say this because I was that next guy that bought a 50 yr/old house and wound up changing some galvanized stuff during some renovations and saw the 3/4" fittings were down to 1/2 diameter and built up with corrosion and crap and I have really good well water here.
As a wise man once said; "No good deed goes unpunished". Thanks for sharing Connor! As a 1st time homeowner, seeing videos like this give me a boost of confidence to tackle my own projects.
Best "How To" video ever! 😂👍
Need shoring trench walls could fail causing dirt to bury person
Love you two. Looking good pal!
Whew!! Looks like a lot of work in the dark and cold. Good work!!
Just did the same exact job here in New England - it’s a lot of work. Only thing I noticed is you took the time to dig down deep enough you should have kept it that deep when you brought it up into the foundation of the new building - looked really shallow where you entered the new building - Also would have been worth your time to sleeve that water line so in the future if there’s any issues you don’t have to dig the yard up again. I’m just starting to get my grass back to normal after all the crazy digging we had to do. It’s a hell of a job I salute you for taking it on yourself 👍🏻👍🏻
One of the best "how to" channels on the tube 👌
Ha.. Nice try
What happened to your John Deere R92 resto ? Why don't you collaborate w/ Taryl & deliver the R92 engine to him in person (for a rebuild) & also get written into the script for a cameo appearance in Taryl Fixes All.
No shoring in your trenches, you should be more careful.
Me, before watching this video: I would like a bathroom in my backyard office.
Me, after watching this video: Oh. Well then.
Hi there love watching your videos i love my garden to mind you said you were looking for reelmaster 3100d basket there’s someone on eBay sale 2 if you want to have a look at them watching from Glasgow Scotland uk
Yeah man! Very good job!
You are funny as all get out brother sorry you had so many problems
Connor "The Master Pipelayer" Ward.
HA... #dowork
Is that a Mueller Curb Stop? If so that could have been made by me! I’m a Supervisor at Mueller Water Products and we make those Mark II Oriseals.
Not a job most would attempt. You should have a little pride flowing. I was impressed and learned a little. Thanks Connor
Yup
So what is the bigger conflict? Mother in law driving off a cliff in your brand new Cadillac or driving a skid steer on your lawn??
My landlord is trying to save money by running the water line along the wall in the inside of the building.
Water lines are in walls, bathrooms, wash rooms, and even kitchens occasionally have their water lines in the wall.
I hate plumbing.
Always nice to see other people have the same (like) issues #nofilter. Thought for a sec there you burried sis ward, however se does come in handy to 'clean the pipes' ;-)
Frost line where I am is 5” 😂😂😂 I couldn’t imagine 3 feet
It's a whole different world where I live. That's why my grass season is so short.
@@lawnrebel so next year around the end of April you'll run a video along the lines of 'How to repair your yard after trenching for water and power'. Or something like that.
@@MrTuggins yes this is likely
Thought for sure you would save that job for your lottery winner 😆 Nice work my friend that’s one hell of a job 😎
Easily your most dangerous video you've made. That was a potentially deadly trench.
Great job
"Go about your life" lol
Can't you just water in the new soil? Takes next to no effort.. very efficient..
Connor I have responded to several trench collapses that killed people. You need to be careful man! It needs shoring where you are working.
I need to do that
You going to put an instant hot water heater in there? I got a small electric one for my shed for a couple hundred.
Likely yes
Yellow teflon tape is rated for gas pipe, not water pipe. All those connections are future leakers. And as a plumber, always tape AND dope your water main connections. You want to give yourself the most assurance as possible when it comes to water mains. You don't want to be the one that has to dig that all up again and re-do it because it's leaking unless you like unnecessary extra work for yourself. I don't.
@Tyler Anthony Maybe, maybe not, but it's still wrong.
I think said “that’s what she said’” 30 times watching this lol great video
And I thought me tackling vinyl floors over the winter was a big project!!! Mad Respect.
Cold wet hands. The hell with all that noise! I’d rather be sweating my ass off.
Have always been curious, what is your 9-5 job?
The she-shed is getting water...now a hair rinse bowl and you have a she-salon 😜
I bet a power broom would make quick work of the soil cleanup in the yard. Echo makes a power broom attachment for their PAS trimmers if you have one of those. Looking forward to seeing how you handle the cleanup. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
i've had good luck trenching lines with a hydrovac truck :) can't break lines as easy that way lol
Try a Grading Rake to minimize the Extra Soil from your lawn! I always try to allow 20% for Compaction.
What kind of pipe was this?
I was going to say why isn't your wife out there helping you, but the ending of the video kind of answered that. 😉
Thank you for doing this!! Amazing! The hidden world of plumbing!! you are awesome!
love your videos .you have a very understanding wife
I love watching these videos because you know it there's a chance for Connor to hit a pipe or a sprinkler head he will hahaha🤣
Seems we never think about our earth disturbing projects before overseeding season..😂😂..
this is true
I always love these how-to videos.
How much does this cost?
I saw a couple of days ago that it was -32 in Peter Sinks. I can understand why you have to go so deep. They started the dig last week on my pool. It is painful to watch the machines on the grass.
yeah frost depth is 36 inches or so here.
I searched the comments thoroughly, certain I would find someone voicing concerns about your trench collapsing on you. Your subs must be taking it easy on you for the holidays.
Cool video sir. You are the man when it comes to home projects!
A collapsed trench sounds like a problem for a safety sally to worry about
yeah the sallies have not come out in force yet.
Blue the right coupling that fits your pipe over or into the bell on the other side pipe fittings and it should go together. I just went through this doing a super French drain for a customer. 🙄😒
Thanks for the tips!
wonder how the paddle wheel for the kombi would do on moving the dirt on the lawn to the trench
Too bad you buried those sprinkler lines, I would have loved to come help replumb them in Poly pipe.
No poly in my yard. All pvc
Great video! Love seeing these progress videos. #GoYankees
Dude you are cool 😎
Our rubber mallets look different in Minnesota
Rubber mallet only folks 🤣
Sister Ward deserves a medal 🏅
How did you learn to do all that by yourself??
Sister Ward is a worker! LOL Thank you for the video!
All those patches of your lawn getting dug out!!! cover them in epoxy and sell them at your shop! i would buy one!
maybe plate them in gold or bronze
you should make a video of all your equipment
Lol. Come on sister ward. Hahaha.
CTS means Copper Tubing Size.
Holy crap that’s not going to be easy to get that in there. That’s what she said !
Seriously this amazing. Thanks for sharing this
Thats a real man! this was not a sissy job! maybe the shed will be done in early 2021 ? :)
Ha.. Maybe. That's a lofty goal
That's how you know she loves you... out in the dark, cold mud, holding your pipes. Cheers to Mrs. Ward.
An amazing woman
