Thanks for all your amazing videos. One thing I wanted to say (admittedly I haven't seen the second part of the video yet) is that having one of these style cabins myself, is that you have to be so careful about joining items across the "logs". In total my cabin grows about 5mm per log over damp times, and during this super dry summer, it contracted more than on day one when it was built. But across 19 logs that means it can grow up to 95mm in height from summer to winter. Definately something to account for if strapping things vertically. The way around this is to create plywood floating panels which are screwed to one horizontal log. And that have slots with screws to allow the logs to shift up and down behind it. I have seen so many videos of electricians installing conduit with next to no slack in the wires, clamping down according to the book, but not realising that the force of the wood expansion will rip it all apart. Keep up the awesome work and I can't wait to see more.
I always make a point of putting the non-returns right after the T, ‘cause of the water in the shed ain’t used often it’s a massive dead leg that gets back into the house system. Just me though, years of working in healthcare having L8 drumming it in.
thanks!
Hold tight! Yet another entertaining video, and I don’t even do plumbing.😂😂😂
In no way do you have enough followers for the stuff you put out! I'm self building an extension with a concealed toilet, impey shower tray, new water main and your content has been invaluable!!
Cheers Dan!
Excellent.
My personal preference is to have all copper pipes.
2 quick questions James. Would it not be better to have 2 DCV (one next to the loo to stop back flow from outside tape espcialliy if they have a hose connected and one inside the shed/hair desser salon? Should the lever valve handle not be in blue to denote cold water?
I do like the voices and acsents you do on the videos. Hold Tite
What's the ball park figure or what should be for getting this and a toilet kitchen waste pipe connected back to the main house done for an out house ?
The comedy made this video gold! xD
Hi mate First of all i want to thank you for really good content . I want to become a plumber for longtime . Iam from Czech republic and finished Plumbing diploma level 2 few years ago . My only problem with Plumbing is exposure to asbestos very often . I want to ask you how companies in these days dealing with this problem? Thank you for you honest answer haha
Damn It Jim, You beat me to the non-return valve! 🤣🤣
Great film James, I like it 👍👍👍
cheers!
I always remove the washer from the DOC - but great video and love the little jokes
Yeah I was lazy on this one!
Another year video.
Would you not try to clip the pipes in the toilet to a wall at all to stop them ever being knocked? They seem stuff enough from the soldering but I feel like some clips to a wall would keep all the pipework more secure
We needed more Rachel 😉
Ha! Poor rach!
How did you deal with the drainage?
Am I not right in thinking, water bylaws state all out side taps must have a inside service valve, this is so the outside tap can be turned off in winter for frost protection. I had a job the water inspector would not sign off until one was filled.
Wait till the winter hits that!!
The non return (double/ check valve) needs to be inside the house mate, to stop contaminated or long standing water from outdoor piping introducing potential bacteria to the internal (potable) drinking supply.
If you're not an experienced plumber, it's best to watch Dan's videos using the half-speed (50%) setting.. You'll get all the info then and even his voice sounds normal ; )
Sorry James... x
I'd have been poopin' misen about melting the washer in the doc, just below that soldered tee. Yer lever valves didn't fall horizontally to off, but then they didn't have yellow handles so... minor gripe.
Ha no worries! The valve falling off rule is frankly mad these days. I struggle to turn them on and off with my bloody hand, let alone just gravity!
Fantastic job
Thank you very much!
what's the name of the tool been uesd at 2.34 cleaning the copper tube, in situ ?
thanks.
I would have used a sock instead of a tissue. BTW, try plumblue. Good stuff.
I'll grab a pot!
Could you use emery paper to remove nicks in mdpe?
💪👽 haha you are such a legend ❤️ thanks for this bud -
We're trying to build toilet & showers for our campsite.
Would be amazing to see a video on how to find water supply on Land
( Obviously it's easier to find in the city with houses ect. Not so easy on farmland )
Any tips or tricks on finding pipes?
There's houses around the local farm land so there must be running water pipes ❤️❤️
Anything obvious to look out for & ask for permission to hook ourselves upto it ?
Thankyou in advance ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Great job 👍
Cheers!
You do make me laugh 🤣 also james was that your recorded voice I heard in BQ promoting items ? Great vid m8! 👍
Where du get the pipe cleaners for your drill please ?
Bro if I spoke to my clients like that 😂
Great Video and great job James can you do an Irish accent in your next video 😃
I will try!
.. To be sure.
6:40 That is the exact noise that my 3 year old makes.
Nice 👌🏼 enjoyed this video
Glad you enjoyed
Got a link for your deburring tool ?
Does anybody else fit a lever valve instead of a stopcock tap when replacing a knackered tap?
when you said that some people say, that the ball isolation valve , should not be positioned vertical, because it might " fall off " do you mean that they think gravity will make the lever drop ? they do not know what they are talking about, are they the same ones, who think the world is still flat.
What's that weird piece of wood fastened to the wall with brackets to the right of the cistern? It looks like a plumbing disaster to me!
Looking at the paint colour change on the wall I would say it was part of boxing that has been removed.🤔
It always helps with a bit of spit😂
That is gross right??
Bedroom, yes. Plumbing, no. Or is it just me?
Double check valve?
Fitted the day after at the other end (I mentioned it in this video) 😎
Just had 5g shrooms and somehow I’m watching this on the comedown… life’s weird
Ha! Been there at a few Glastonburys. Don't go to the circus in that state!
Lol I love this 🍄
I was a gas fitter and the valve you fit is the wrong way round, it should always fall to shut, you have installed it the wrong way round.
And yet he says why he did it in the video....
Yeah I know.
I also know that I’ve NEVER had a lever valve just randomly shut…although I’ve not worked in Borley Rectory.
I also know that you have also installed things slightly wrong in your time…otherwise you wouldn’t be so worldly wise as to comment here. 😜😜😜
@@plumberparts "I've never worked in ..... Borley Reactor ".... really?
I'm sure I've heard said you enjoy the odd vindaloo or three. 🤪
🤫
@@Sparks1Plumbers0 omg what happens if you don't install it the right way?
@@gurinderkular7209 Go on..... surprise me?
00:16 .... and before he knew it. His singing career was over. 🤣 (thank god).
And what's with the V2 Plus 🤔. Your normally giving it large over fernox hawk white and how your dear ol' pappy use to force you to bath in it as a child. 😉
Also what would Emily say about all that saliva use ... in the home of a strange woman 😲. Jimmy.....
Ha! Emily trusts me!
do they make dresses for hair ? or if you are male, do they make hair trousers. and hair pyjamas for sleeping.
Clutching at straws
The outside tap now has no means independent isolation and the non conductive break was cut out.
Jesus says if any man draw back,,,,My soul have no delight!
