Spice Girls (Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham) perform a medley of Wannabe and Spice Up Your Life, in a spectacular performance at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The ceremony also included performances from Emeli Sandé, Queen, Take That and Jessie J. =========================================

Re-watching this after almost a decade, brings a big smile on my face. I'm a huge Spice Girls fan from the 90s, and I'll forever treasure this memory of seeing this performace. It was an amazing wrap-up party for the 2012 Olympics.

The performance is literally perfect. All five of these women look phenomenal and perfectly embody their personas. Mel B’s bodysuit, Victoria’s and Geri’s dresses - flawless. They served it this night and I’ll always come back to this performance when I need a pick me up. I truly miss them together on stage as a five piece, but they gave us so much in such a short period of time. Hopefully they’ll do another one-off performance like this some time and Victoria will find the desire to participate. She genuinely seems to be enjoying this performance. It’s rare for a group to have such an impact, but these five knew how to make everyone smile :)

I don’t think VB will ever perform again. In an interview she said she was “petrified” to perform. Victoria also had a panic attack prior to the Olympics performance. She is and will always be my favourite Spice Girl but I think she just found her passion in fashion.
This performance does really, really put me in the mood. Whenever I feel down, this totally and completely lifts me up. It was a moment full of energy. A decade later, it just never ages!

I'm getting used to see Victoria in fashion industry for years she always had that serious look and she hardly smile but seeing her performing cheerfully makes me happy, she looks very cuuuuuute!!!!
If you watch the documentary and her interviews she seemed the most genuinely invested in the group. You can tell she likes to laugh.

When Scary Spice was singing, it was so obvious that she added some personality that wasn't on the track, you could tell that they were singing live. All singers have backup vocals for the parts that they don't do.

Most of the game ceremomy show solution is to record as the singer perform and and broadcast that to the stadium or even simply just pre record and have the performer lip syncing.

The Spice Girls were a movement, a wonderful feminist catalyst and the perfect icons for me growing up. I can't express how grateful I am to have grown up in the wonderful 90s. This is what life was about for me. The most inspirational women! Deffo teared up watching this imagining how they must have felt in that moment!

Tina Turner and the Ikettes may have been better singers, but the fact that Tina was front and center negated the purpose of a girl group. People knew who Tina was but most couldn't name the others. The Spice Girls were all on an equal footing and nobody was replaceable in the band, making them better in the sense of a Girl Group in which they all contribute equally.

Spice girls made it cool to be different and kind. Their message was "be the best version of yourself, love yourself and as long as you will be kind and value friendship, you'll never be alone". That's how they grew a generation of women supporting other women, and not by being obssesed with socialmedia fame and money.

The energy between those girls is so timeless that after all those years it felt like the first day they came out and captured the whole world
I LOVE this so much. I like how even now as full grown women in their own careers they still stay true to their characters. I think people who hate on Victoria have to understand her as "Posh Spice". These women defined a generation and Victoria's posing is true to posh spice. There's a reason why people said it was rare for her to smile on stage, but when asked the other spices (members) would say she was a nice loving person.
Yes, I wasn't a Spice Girls fan but I like them, I used to think that Geri was whom broke the group when she left, am I wrong? While Victoria still being loyal till today, even when she doesn't need to perfrorm anymore. Do I miss something?
