Thank you, just got a 2014 Lexus (used) First thing is to change the oil. Glad to have watched this video first in order to get the proper tools and actions! Thanks again for taking the time to be very thorough, and detailed. Many videos assume the watcher knows missed details in their videos! Good job on your video!
@@Theyralltakenfu It had 37000 very well cared for! I have since put two more thousand miles on the od. Took me about that long to get used to all the different aspects of drving a luxury vehicle (moved up from a Honda 2003 with 150.000 on the od) Couldn't be more happy. The turning radius for a larger vehicle is beyond great. The quiet ride is better yet! The car gets average 17 miles per gallon, 20 on the open road. The only thing took awhile to get used to is the braking. Takes a little bit more to slow down since it is way more heavy than the Honda. So far for my taste this is a quality built car and ease to get to do it yourself parts!
Cool let me know if u ever need help with anything I have ton of videos on whole bunch or repairs on this car and other cars and I always post good stuff daily
Thanks....... A few weeks ago I had an oil changed done at one of the Toyota dealerships (not my regular go to dealership), now my 2015 RX350 is leaking oil. What are the odds that the mechanic didn't tighten up the nut/filter properly? or like you mentioned, lots of mechanics don't replace the o-rings.
Yup they don’t change the rings and they fail to change filters every time customer loyal customer of mine buys new Toyota for first few oil changes they go to dealer for free oil change and once they are done they come to me and their oil filter house is jammed up because they never changed the filter after first change by me it always was smooth
Tarron Sage hell yeah if this helped you! That proved it’s better than perfect!!!! Glad to help but till next till I will wait to help you again brother please subscribe also subscribe to my other channel as well here’s the link a ua-cam.com/channels/vqsPzqAZfVv_gjBYUFqNdg.html
From what I have learned from various videos on UA-cam, we should avoid using Fram Filters because they are inferior in the material used and quality is poor. This is the opinion of the mechanics from UA-cam. Appreciate your feedback on this subject. Thank you.
Vince Khoo I don’t have any problems with any filters I see them as all good as long as they do their job but I have Hurd things about Fram. I mostly use puralators
That Fram filter is the Ultra Synthetic…one of the best filters that’s on the market. So for this Lexus application, it’s perfectly capable. It’s the lower-tier Fram filter that I would not use on this vehicle.
Shouldn’t be a problem deal area was clean I use same exact filter but good information I do clean on my new videos always good to see good information on here also if I made a mistake good to know so others can learn from thank you!
@@RBTheMechanic Ugg! Makes you wonder why people wait so long to do their oil changes. Every 5000 miles or six months…whichever comes first. Oil is cheap, engines are expensive.

Decent video. Nice job. May be good to explain the torque setting on the drain plug and if it needs a new gasket or washer each oil change.
OIL CHANGE TORQUE Specs...
Oil pan drain plug torque: 40 N•m/30 ft lbs
Oil filter cap torque: 25 (±5) N•m/18 (±3.5) ft lbs
Oil filter drain plug torque: 12.5 N•m/9 ft lbs

How many miles interval?
5k if ur using synthetic
Where or what size is tool to remove oil filter socket
Special socket u need it’s tool just for the canister
Search for "64 mm 14 flute Toyota oil filter tool", you'll get plenty of hits.
Look good, but you didn’t clean inside oil filter housing.
Shouldn’t be a problem deal area was clean I use same exact filter but good information I do clean on my new videos always good to see good information on here also if I made a mistake good to know so others can learn from thank you!
and what about measuring the level at the end? No? just say a prayer?
I’m experience and did 100s of these know the capacity or u can just check it
@@RBTheMechanic experience is great but making sure levels are good is very cheap. I wouldn’t let you service my vehicle
Hi is 5W30 also ok for RX450h 2014?
Yeah I don’t see a problem
No they take 0w-20
Where can I get the drain plug
U can find it local Autozone part store or pepboys
Hi, first time working on a car. What tools are you using in the video? Do you have amazon links I can buy them from?
I show it all on video the socket is 14mm with wrench oil filter tools 3/8 ratchet
@@RBTheMechanic what is the oil filter tool?

5.8 quarter? 2012 rx350
Ru telling or asking. I do as customer request and bring the amount
Could Toyota make this simple task any more difficult?? My dodge takes a minute and no special tools
Not so bad tho compared to jaguar
I agree. Why not use a standard filter?
LOL, Customer buys great oil, but why didn't he buy a good filter. Fram is junk, he should have bought the Mobil 1 Oil Filter too.
Yup I think they got this free with oil
What is when I change the oil it comes out in solid pieces and have to put a screwdriver in the hole?...just kidding.
Lol I had few of those in my career
