Best cover ever ever made .
Such mastery of the chords. It sends shivers up and down my spine.
This song is a musical hug.
oooo couldnt agree more!
Love your joy at the pure musicality.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I wish this song wasn't so short because it's such an eargasm. So much is happening in this song though. These guys are masters of their craft. But I hate that they are so underrated. They should be on radio stations everywhere but their not. Great reaction as always!
Yessss Couldn't agree more!
@@DrummingwithJarvis i thought it was just me...lol
Ok, I normally hate when the reactor pauses the video, just to blab about particulars of how they sang. That being said, You, sir, are simply amazing. You teach without sounding full of yourself AND you teach so well!! Thank you so much!! ❤️😍😘
Dude! If you like this you’ll love “seven bridges road” Eagles cover. Oh and great reaction on this one. You have a unique ability to put the cookies on the bottom shelf so the rest of us can enjoy the song at your level. Thanks for that!!!!!
I'll check it out! thanks for the suggestion 😊😊😊
I'll take perfect harmonies over theatrics and vocal calesthenics every day of the week. These guys do it all, so well.
YESSSS agreed!
Total ear-gasm!
YESSSS!!!
Jarvis, you have more than a "decent" idea of what these guys do - love love your reactions! ♥️
Thank you sooooo much~!!
That sustained bass note was Tim
I agree, Adam and Tim on that note. Tim has said they can give Adam a note and he'll hold it forever.
Well, duh. Adam does that circular breathing when he beat boxes. The guys got the lung capacity of a whale.
He's also a trumpet player, which helps when you are sustaining notes.
YESSSSSS thats crazy how long he held it and maintained tone soooo good!
@@denicesanders4586 brass were the instruments that finally defeated me . . . i could handle oboe, bassoon, various clarinets, flute . . . but getting anything but a *blaaaatttt* from a trumpet just couldn't happen. ;) i'm surprised Adam's rib circumference isn't more than it is!
@@elizabethhostetter1946 I wanted to play coronet more than anything. Folks wouldn't go for it. : ( My grandmother gave me her piano, so I taught myself to read music and play piano.
Sounds as if you are quite talented.
Thank you for hearing that sustained note, no one else notices that
Thank you. Isn't this gorgeous? Simplicity but perfection.
It really is!
I believe the sustained note was 2 people Adam i think singing the 4th and Tim singing the bass. it is almost 4 measures. this was Chance's idea and he arranged it. Chance is the First singer in this piece. I loved your reaction.
Chance's idea but Tim arranged it.
That's what I could hear as well. Magic!
soooooo gooooood! Appreciate you Vicky!
@@DrummingwithJarvis I love the two lower singers...their voices ring true and sound so very good!
On top of everything else that makes this such a fantastic cover, the original song is so good. I'd really love to know if Cam has heard this cover and what she thinks of what they did with it. I'd never heard of her before listening to Home Free's cover, but Cam is worth checking out too. Great songwriter and a good singer.
yessss! sooo good!
Great reaction yet again. And our beat boxer was singing in this one. Simple perfection.
So good
I was so hoping you'd notice that long note that the others built on.
A great reaction, Sir
Yes, thanks
Thanks for that great reaction, I do appreciate your analysis of their performance. I am a Huge Home Free fan and would love to hear more reactions.
No problem! more to come 😊😊
Wait for it. Austin's side look at Tim when over sings his bass.
I love hearing music expressed by you. It's like hearing it for the first time and its absolutely amazing.
Awesome song; awesome reaction! It's great how you explain what they do vocally. Watching them do this song live is kind of jaw-dropping. Thanks for checking it out! Their newest video, One Man Band, they put out a week ago is... well... awesome!
So good! appreciate you!
Teresa Montgomery, how are you doing??
I think this is one of my favorite songs of Home Free because it is so incredibly tight. It's why I loved Steely Dan but never much cared for the Grateful Dead. The artistry, the craftsmanship, the attention to detail are superb. You explained it so well, and I thank you for that.
Thank you Carla! Definitely will be posting more Home Free soooon!
You should listen to Cosby, Stills, Nash, and Young the original singers of this song.....Home Free did them proud to say the !east! Thanks so much for reaching to this song....brings back many memories from my jr. High years!
I agree. Steely Dan is consummate. Must check them out!
Austin Brown = Danny Boy on his channel. He made me cry. Freaking comparable only to his performance of Unchained Melody and Bring Him Home from Les Mis.
So special to listen to Helplessly Hoping with someone who recognizes how special this is. My friends can't appreciate this, so trying to share this with them is very frustrating sometimes.
Truly is very special! Thanks for the comment Charlene more HF coming soon 😊😊
Great reaction to a great cover. Would love to see your reaction to the original written by Stephen Stills and sung by Crosby, Stills & Nash from1969.
Great suggestion! Ill check it out soon!
The harmonies are outstanding and even better with the 5 part harmonies (yes, Adam is singing). Thanks for the reaction.
yesss! Appreciate you!
I hadn't caught that held bass note at the end - awesomeness!! Love it when I'm led to discover something new. Helps me develop a deeper appreciation of this extremely talented group of guys. Thank you!
Thanks Jennifer 😊😊
Love their straight 5 part harmonies. Really enjoy hearing your insight on the techniques.
Thanks Kelly 😊😊
Hello Kelly Williams, how are you doing??
Another educational reaction. Thank you..
Thank you 😊😊😊😊
As a Home Fry...I love looking for new reactions...yours was great both from a technical and pure reaction standpoint.....can't wait to see more from you!...liked, subbed, shared and.....DING!
I know you don't like to do holiday music out of season, but you really need to hear their rendition of "Auld Lang Syne". The harmonies are just out of this world! Love your reactions and your explanation of musical technique.
I totally agree especially chance singing lower harmony below tim
I'll check it out... during x-mas time 🤣🤣🤣 Appreciate you 😊
Not only the perfect harmonies, lesson to how they start and end together. PERFECTION.
Hello Mary Humphrey, how are you doing??
This song is like a very rich decadent dessert. You just want to savor it and yet it's gone too soon! This performance is deceptively simple. Much harder than Home Free makes it sound. I'm loving your breakdowns! Awesome job! ❤
Yes, you are right appreciate you Chris !
Great reaction. I love how you explain things to us and point things out to everyone. See you on the next video.
Thank you so much 🤗
Your analysis is always so enlightening. Thanks for another BANGER JB!
I appreciate that!
Dude you're one of my favorite reactors
That sustained note was Tim Faust and Adam Rupp who maintained for about 30 seconds.
Crazy right?! Soooo goood!
Not bad for guys many dismiss as "country bumpkins", and will outright refuse to listen to them, even a note. This is art, and it shows the ability of these gentlemen. Only one thing wrong with this video....it's WAAAAAAAY too short ! So glad you covered this !!!
Thanks Kevin! Def wish it was longer hahah! More Home Free coming soon!
Great! Clean, informative reaction. Instant subscribe. Love this.
Crosby Stills and Nash=ROCK... not country by a long shot.
Home Free are so special. The diversity and variety of their music and the pure talent of these guys is just next level. Love your reactions. I learn a lot.
I think you are ready for their Boyz to Men cover of End of the Road.
Already posted my brotha 😊😊🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
❤❤
🙌🏽🙌🏽
This should be fun. Adam is singing and killing it.
YESSSS!
Pure awesomesness!!!💗💗💗💗💗
yesss!!!
Thank you for breaking this song down for us. I have listened to other reactors to this song many times and I missed a lot of what you just pointed out. For instance, I don’t think I ever would’ve noticed that long sustained note without being directed to listen for it. That was really awesome once I heard it so thank you again! Plus, I really enjoyed your enthusiasm & joy in discovery & for that alone I’ve subscribed! 👍👍😄
I LOVE how you explain what they are doing with their voices. I think that at times we are so caught up in the beauty of it, we forget how technical and just plain GOOD these guys are at what they do.
Hello Cindy Sutton, how are you doing??
PERFECT!!!!!!!
😊😊😊😊
Great Reaction 👍❤
Such a beautiful cover 😍
Thank you!! 😁
Great reaction! Epic display of Home Free's harmonies and incredible voices! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Hello Carla Delk, how are you doing today??
Was really looking forward to you reacting to this....and Jarvis? You never disappoint...💐💐
Appreciate you ALex!
Drumming? Nope Percussionist and trained. Your observations are dead on and thank you sir. Well done.
Your reactions are the best! You rock! Thank you! ☺️
Thanks Diane!
Hello Diane Silas, how are you doing today??
Simply stunning 😍
Thank you! 😊
Excellent reaction Jarvis. Informative and very interesting. The vocals were amazing, the timing as well, almost like one brain controlling five sets of vocal chords.
I appreciate it! 😊😊😊😊
Oh I just love this. One of my favorites. Such good harmonies and loved the black and white video. So good. This was Chance’s baby. Good reaction Jarvis!
Thank you soooo much!
This is GREAT!
My Ex loves Home Free
She knows alot about them!
Plus so much more Music
Listen to their version of John Mayer's In The Blood!
Will do!!!
I often say this is a master class on how to do harmony so tight at the start that it sounds like on person singing true ear candy
yesss sooo true!
You are amazing to listen to on your comments! I enjoy it and can't get enough!
Beautiful song! Absolutely great reaction!
Appreciate you sooo good!
You would also like Seven Bridges Road by Home Free. It's great.
Def will be checking it out!!
Always enjoy your reactions! And I love this song by Home Free. Such a pleasure to listen to!
Glad you enjoy it!
My absolute favorite of theirs, perfect 5 part harmony. Just wish it was longer, usually have to listen to itt at least twice to get my fill.
Yesss
I just started down this home free rabbit hole, and I have to say your reactions are some of my favorites! You break it down better than anyone. I really appreciate that. I know I'm way late, but much love from this dude out in Oregon. ❤
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Flawless!!!
😊😊😊😊
This is honestly their best technical performance from a vocal perspective.
Yeah great Reaction!!! I'm so happy that you finally reacted to this song!!!
Appreciate you!!
❤❤❤❤❤
Beautifully done. Some reactors don't e en pay attention to that bass sustained note that Tim does. All 5 of them were singing in this...Adam included. Thanks for another dynamic reaction!
Thanks!😊😊 More to come for sure!
Hello Lorrie Riddle, how are you doing??
New Home Fry Sub. Adam Rupp is a beatbox beast and look forward to hearing a drummer react.
Appreciate you!!!! Def will be reacting to more & Welcome to the JB CRew!
Two words come to my mind about this performance. DEVINE & PERFECT!!!
Thank you for reacting to this beautiful video! Jarvis I enjoy the info and the way you explain music to us. I can comprehend what you explain! Maybe you should teach music theory?or whatever it is called. I think I would sign up for the classes if you could do it online! Love and Peace!😀❤️🍟
My pleasure!! I have a some drum students from time to time so I try and work on explaining clearly. Thanks for noticing 😊😊
Hello Louise Temples, how are you doing today?
Actually that is Tim Foust the bass singer holding that note alone for that 10 seconds...amazing bass singer with ridiculous range and skill all together
I like that Adam was singing too.
Yes agreeed!
I absolutely love your reactions, Jarvis!! You know so much about music and harmonies - almost everything you point out reinforces what I've learned in the barbershop genre as a Sweet Adeline for over 30 years. I'm even sending this one to my director, since I think your reaction would reinforce a lot of the things we constantly talk about (matching vowels and breath support - and energy!!). I don't think you've reacted to Home Free's version of How Great Thou Art yet - another harmony masterpiece (5 part harmony again - and you get to hear the beatboxer sing!). I'd also suggest their cover of Take Me Home, Country Roads, In the Blood, and Hillbilly Bone (another really fun one). And they have a new one dropping this Friday that is awesome!!
Dorothy thank you so much!!!! I know a little bit I wish I knew more about this stuff. I try and pay attention to artist I work with as well as go back through college notes from time to time to remember.
I hope your director approves 🤣🤣
Keep being great more to come 😊🤣
Hello Dorothy Garner, how are you doing??
Great breakdown of the HF version, excellent.
If you've never heard Tribute to (the/a) Whale; CSN. Probably around 78-79. The intro was done acappella, with the stage blacked out. The harmony went straight through you. They opened the concert with this, and the rest was incredible.
Fan of a fan of The Free
Well done reaction and analysis on my fav Home Free cover. My suggestion/request would be of Tim Foust singing " I Can't Help Falling in Love" to piano accompaniment. Great respect for your talent and presentation.
I love your passion for the voices and songs. I’ve learned so much from watching your videos. You are very much appreciated.
Pure Eargasm.
Another home fry recommended you to me last night J, and I've been going through all of your Home Free and Pentatonix vids (I'm an Acapella geek) this morning, New sub, I am completely here for your energy and knowledge! This song is such a masterclass in 5-part harmony, the guys nailed it!
Great reaction, thank you for really sharing your insights. For another incredibly sustained note and impressive harmonies, please check out Voctave and Mark Lowry singing the song he wrote, Mary Did You Know.
Thanks!!!! Ill def check out your suggestion during x-mas time . No x-mas songs before that season 🤣🤣🤣 But more Voctave coming soon!
Your reactions are almost as good as Home Free♥️♥️♥️
Thanks Karen 😊😊😊
Keep on poppin, Jarvis! Really like your reactions - the content & your great expressions. Keep being real! I like DD coffee - "America runs on DD!"
Wonderful!!! Great reaction!!!
Dude! I stumbled upon your channel because I saw your reaction to Juna, the Japanese girl drumming Through the Fires and Flames. Love your energy, the way you react! Please do a review on this video: Nyango Star: When you're overqualified for the job. Thanks!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Yes sir!!! Wonderful commentary and breakdown!
I can never make it through this one without bawling my eyes out
completely understood! It's beautiful
That's how I am with "How Great Thou Art". Pure, amazing harmonies and the Austrian Alps in the backgrouind... BREATHTAKING!!!
Great reaction, as always, Jarvis! It's such a delight watching and listening to you reacting to these guys! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed
Hello Carina Lindberg, how are you doing??
You should react to "do you hear what I hear". The arrangement was made by Adam Rupp, so you know it's gonna be very interesting!
X-mas time i'll def do it!
I’ve binged these reaction type videos on this song (it’s an incredible version IMO) but commented on two. Yours and another. You brought enthusiasm and knowledge, much knowledge. And appreciation! Thanks for your review!
There's a new Adam Rupp drum solo from Aug 14, 2021 (I believe a concert in Indiana).
Yup. It was at the Indiana State Fair. I was there about 6 rows back. Everyone talks about Tim shaking the house, which he does, but Adam's bassier bits definitely cause earthquakes, too.
Def will check it out!
I thought this was a Crosby, Stills and Nash song. Can someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Yes it is. It is listed up top.
@@reginaminton1135 thank you. I didn't notice that. 😁
🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
One word. Home free Understand 🔥🔥🔥🔥💕❤️💕
Thanks for sharing what is going on with the Home Free nation.Their music 🎶 is sent from above to give the world their awesome day and bring forth happiness. This are my boy's.
😊😊 Of Course!
Loved this song done by CSN, their harmonies were so tight. Home Free's version is wonderful.
Yesss!!
When I listen to this song, I listen to it with my eyes closed. It really enhances the sound.
Always enjoying your reactions Jarvis, keep up the good work ! 🤩
Thank you 🙌
Love your educational, clear, concise review/reactions. I am learning so much.
Home Free always takes you on a Journey every time they open their mouths with those beautiful harmonies!
I would love to see you react to them singing “My Church “
Thanks for your reactions 👌🏼👍🏻👊🏼
Told you it was pure ear candy!
Thank you for another great and informative reaction. You are a terrific reactor!
Soooo true and appreciate you!!!!
