- In this video im ranking every single armor set in breath of the wild from worst to best excluding the amiibo armor. This is my own opinon and there is no correct ranking so please share your own opinions in the comments.
Hey guys, I know that I did not do enough research on the topic of this video before making it, I just wanted to make a dumb first UA-cam video on a game I liked and for some reason it did very well. Thank you for pointing things out in the comments and I'm trying to improve my knowledge of games and video quality with each new video.

The Desert Voe set is essential for exploring some areas of the Gerudo desert where the Gerudo set won't give enough heat resistance.
And also it can be upgraded whereas the Gerudo set cannot.

The radiant set makes the bone monsters that rise at night friendly towards link. It’s a really useful set for traversing at night on foot
Same with the evil spirit set I think
You're missing many of the bonuses of different sets, throwing off the rankings. For example, the royal guard set actually reduces stamina usage for jumps and dashes as well, putting it in the top three armors, in my opinion.
Pretty weak though so it's more or less good for climbing and low level enemies

I would swap numbers 1 and 2. Snowquill is useful for cold and all, but the Guardian set not only has insane protection, it also provides extra attack power whenever you use Guardian weapons. Power that can be multiplied with food that boosts attack power even more, outclassing the Barbarian Armor in every form - provided you have the necessary Guardian gear.
I see his point. The Guardian set is the most powerful, but once you're done farming Guardians you're going to run out of Ancient weapons eventually and then it's ugly Soldier's armor.
2:25 So he doesn't mention that the Luminous Armor makes Stals think you're a Stal and not attack, and he says the Voe armor is worse than the Vai armor in spite of the fact that the Voe armor is upgradeable in terms of heat resistance and armor class. He has no idea what he's talking about.

A lot of the information in this video is incorrect.
I think you made a few mistakes in here. Particularly with the desert voe set. You need it for level 2 heat resistance and it can have up to 20 defence compared to the vai set's 1
Fully upgraded, flamebreaker set takes 2 hearts of damage from guardians. Ancient takes 3.
Flamebreaker is immune to fire, so its defence eats the shot, while its set bonus negates the burn after the lazer.
Lol so the flame breaker armour is just better then the ancient armour?😂😂😂

myself personally, I have the Barbarian armour as my top pick.

The wild set has is tied with the best defense in the game with 84.Also it makes the master sword beam go from 20 damage to 30 damage
The thing is: Champian tunic exists with higher defense. And 4 extra defense is more usefull than 10 extra beam damage
In addition: Ancient Armor has the same defense, but a far better set bonus, boosting all ancient weapons by 80%. A Guardian ++ sword deals 108 damage with this armor, thats nearly double of the fully upgraded Mastersword

The voi Armor is the only armor giving you level 2 heat resistance, which you need for some parts of the desert. It also can get upgraded, while the vai armor only gives 3 defense so everything onehits you. It for sure deserves higher
Rubber Armor is way too high, because its absolutely useless ones you get the thunder helmet, which is better and more flexible with other armor. And completing the sidequests in Gerudo Town doesnt take much longer than farming the 3 pieces and the materials for the set bonus upgrade
Royale Guard armor set needs to be far further up. It literally is Zora and Climbing set combined in one and easier to get than both of them. And swim/climbing speed are not that important, the set bonus reducing the stamina consumed is the real reason you get those sets and the royal guard set has both if them
Ancient Armor has to be top 1. The effect of the Armor is completely useless (as guardian damage caps out at 4 hearts anyway), but its set bonus is gamebreaking. It turns ancient weapons into the best in the game, giving them a 80% damage increase. The Guardian Sword ++ as example deals 108 damage every hit with it, which is nearly double the fully upgraded master sword
Correcting
Radiant set: once upgraded, it gives bone weapons attack+, so if you have a bone-bases weapon (for example a dragonbone boko club) you recieve an attack bonus
Desert voe set: unlike the vai set, it gives you tier 2 heat resistance. So it is useful for some areas.
Royal Guard set: link uses less stamina when worn.

usually in combat, I go for the ancient grieves, the Champions tunic, and the amber earrings, but you can swap out the top and bottoms for a couple different outfits with the same stats
Use the entire ancient armor set if it's upgraded to level 2, so you cna get 80% more damage with ancient/guardian weapons, which also stacks with attack up bonuses. Ancient battleaxe++: 60 damage x 1.8 x 1.5 = 162 damage per swing

How the heck did the hylian set rank higher than the soldiers set like i get it's easier to upgrade and get but the soldiers set is just better in everyway
Radiant set gives bone damage up which should include dragonbone, not much, but is something.
Also if u upgrade 2 times on each piece it give you stal diguise

Also a easier way to get the barbarian armor is to finish all the tarrey town quests and find the trader that can give you all of that
Desert Voe set is like top 5 imo, heat resistance, you can actually upgrade it, and it looks cool
With the barbarian, I got the fierce deity armor and it gives the same bonus and it’s WAY easier to get (ikn u said u weren’t counting amiibo sets) but it was significantly easier and I haven’t taken it off since. Plus it looks way better lol

I would put the shock armor low because it does what the thunder helm does, but worse. The only reason it might be better is if you do va naboris last. To be fair it is likely, but it gets outclasssed by one peice of armour. Actually now that i think about it you do have to complete those side missions, which can be annoying, but i like them

Actually, the desert voe set only needs two pieces to give large heat resistant while the desert vai set needs the full set to decrease heat a bit

Gerudo set at 5 is hilarious 😂😂😂 bro the armor has a combined rating of 3 and the only use is getting into gerudo town. Whole list in general is trash but gerudo at 5 really sent me
the soldier set is the better set for fight you use the helmet and the pants an if you had maxed the blue tunic that Impa gives to you, you will have the best armor in the game (protection) I prefer this set rather others because it,s easier to max
Extensive opinion + the set bonuses that werent mentioned I have the sets mentioned in the same order as the video
-no thoughts on well worn set
-radiant armor also gives disguise for stal enemies and if i remember right, also attack up for any bone weapons
-desert voe set also has higher defence then the desert vai and give shock damage resist
-dark link is just fun for scaring npcs lol
-tingle outfit just looks funny and references past games
-Wild set gives master sword beam up which makes them faster, go for longer distances, and do more damage
-Salvager is much easier to get then the zora set so you can get swim speed and dash boost earlier on in the game
-royal guard set just looks fun and gives the royal and royal guard weapons an armor set to go with them
-I have mixed feelings for the soldier set because on my first play through, I never bothered with it. later on I did buy it but it has no set bonus when upgraded so I never saw the point
-Hylian set is just a common set for most players to get since most people go to kakariko first and its the cheaper of the two available set while also giving good defence early game
-I personally use the stealth armor a lot, but I might be biased simply because I like the design
-rubber set was great until I got the helmet, I specifically like the belt designs on the chest piece. It gives a shock damage resist and makes you unable to be stunned by electric attacks but doesn't take away all the damage
-the phantom ganon armor also gives the exact same stealth boost as the stealth armor and gives disguise for stal enemies
-flamebreaker armor is only good for death mountain and I dont like the design personally
-zora armor is great for early game and the helmet also gives a spin attack in the water
-no additional thoughts for barbarian armor
-gerudo vai set is only good for getting into gerudo town. It sucks for heat resist too because the voe set does it better. only good for the town and fanservice
-phantom is basically dumbed down barbarian thats just easier
-I use climbing set often, also gives climb jump stamina boost
-ancient armor gives extra attack damage when using ancient or guardian weapons but the helmet design isnt doing it for me
-snowquill sucks for my personal gameplay but its definitely useful for certain areas and gives a set bonus of unfreezable

@@garlicbread511 not really, there are a lot of people who are much better than me, I most likely just farther along in the game
I generally agree, Snowquill is about equal with Desert Voe, you really only need 1 piece(pants) to go with the doublet, there are no places in the game that require 3 anti-cold armors, especially because if you are fighting cold enemies you can hold a fire weapon for cold resist +1 and instakill frost type creatures, stealth is actually better because less things that see you means less trying to kill you, plus you get a speed bonus for that set if I recall correctly, so anyways stealth> unless no enemies then climbing if you need that then a temperature set(2 pieces for everything problematic with that(you can have a full 4 piece set and walk in every location tbh just by having elemental weapon.) Thunder helm beats rubber armor as soon as you get that to weaponise thunderstorms(just drop and magnesis metal weapons for ranged attacks and luring unarmed enemies away from you), Zora for waterfalls/swimming, ancient is purely endgame with full ancient kit, not particularly great overall.
Edit: Snowquill set is useful for freeing Naydra for anti-freeze and collecting it's resources, forgot that.
I say take prioroty in getting the flamebreaker, snowquill, zora and desert boy sets. I tend to go all over the map in quick succession due to the teleporting shrines. These four sets allow me to adventure around without being encumbered by the environment. This is a very important and valuble thing. I would stick these in the top tier. This video is overall well made and there is a lot of thought and effort. However one thing I disagree with most is putting the desert boy set way too low. The desert girl set is important for getting into Gerudo Town. However I find the desert boy set even more useful. It is great in the desert heat. It can be upgraded by great fairies. It even has some shock resistance. I use the desert boy set all the time. It helps me adventure in the desert and effectively fight enemies. The desert girl set can't be upgraded. So it is more vulnerable and limited. The video does make a good point on making a snowquill set the number one spot. I definitely get it. I associate this set with the cold area of the Hebra Mountains. This also extends to the flight range and bird dungeon at Rito Village. I find that this set is good elesewhere. It is good in the Lanaru mountains near Hateno Villege. It is good in the plateaus near the desert. I even wear them in the desert at night. Heck this set would even be useful in the Great Plateau if it were available.
There are other good sets. I put the steath set, the climbing set and the rubber set at second tier down. They are not quite as essential. However they work incredibly well within thier own specialty. I put hylean set and soldier armor set at low tier. They are kind of meh. They are basic and easy to get. The video is very right in putting well worn set at the bottom. That is the basic stuff Link gets in the beginning. I am not sure about the anchuent abd barbarian sets. They are really strong but really hard to get. They tend to be limited to late game. The wait is worth it though.
Honestly my favorite armor is indeed the Rito's suit
i believe it depends on what a player is doing in the game, if the player is more focused on pvp, recording montages he can have different tier list

I wish you could enter the gerudo valley with the stealth armor instead of using the gerudo armor that I really don't like

It s wrong. The climbing set speed up thé climbing and the loss of stamina, it does not get you any higher.
I disagree on the radiant set dude. You get that joker leveled up and get a good bone weapon, and you can kick some ass. I think that's actually my favorite set. Not the best, but the coolest.

I finished the game so mainly i just farm lynels so i use barbarian all the time ancient set probably ties barbarian for me but im more of a combat guy and if you are doing other stuff like side quests there are better sets for those specific things
the hero of the wild armor set makes your master sword's beam shoot farther

Of the wild set has master sword beam up set bonus if you upgrade it to 2 level
It also has as much defensive value as the Soldier Armour at level 4, which is 28 per piece. Ties it for highest defence.
