Excellent!
Another very interesting compilation of significant events which transpired in early 1943. A good overview of the state of the war, with a positive slant from the German point of view. Revealing, despite the spin!
I remember that scene with the dog from one of the Deutsche Wochenshau's newsreels.
Yes, I also used it in one of the 3rd battle of Kharvok videos a few years back
Another cracking contribution. I am ALWAYS delighted when I get the email notifications...Please keep these simply SUPERB history films coming
Will do Robert, thanks for your interest
Vielen Dank.

Another fantastic real. Fighting in the frigid Ost front conditions must have been an icy hell. Thanks for sharing a slice of history.
Glad you enjoyed it
Very interesting - and telling - that the eastern front map shown at 5:22 does even show Stalingrad.
Incredible footage.
Thank you for this marvelous film.
Glad you enjoyed it
missed the premiere today, was out doing errands but watched the re-run now 👍
No worries Craig, you are a regular
Interesting, as always.
Thanks again!
05:23 H. Windt music from documentary "Panzer greifen an" 08:40 Liszt/Steinkopf. "Hunnenschlacht" 11.07 Liszt/Steinkopf "Mazeppa"
My favorite UA-cam history channel
That sounds good to me
Subtitles!
Thank you!
This is so interesting. By 1943 the Germans were clearly losing the war but the sense of desperation didn't permeate the newsreel as it started to do in '44. There was no talk of any real battlefield victories as there weren't any, or final victory, but no foreboding of defeat, either.
Yes, I agree
Incredible footage....as always..
Thanks for watching
Wonderful- fascinating footage. Thanks for these!
Many thanks!
My uncle was trained in the US 10th mountain division, ski troops, to fight just such German alpine troops. He did , but in italy, and not in the snow. He died in italy in 1945, buried in the US Military Cemetery at Nettumo.
First military song at the beginning we used to play when i was in drums/machine gun platoon
The extended segment at 5:18 shows the Waffen-SS division LSSAH fighting in the area south of Kharkov, otherwise known today as Kharkiv , Ukraine. Some of these scenes appeared in the Deutsche Wochenschau in February 1943, but this newsreel shows a lot more footage. You can see at 5:58 the commander of the LSSAH Aufklarung Abteilung Kurt "Panzer" Meyer with no headgear on pointing towards the Russian lines. That's his German shepherd barking at the canon firing. The Aufklarungs Abteilung translates to Reconnaissance Battalion.
Meyer was sentenced to death after the war by the western allies, but eventually was reprieved. His wartime biography, "Grenadiers" was an excellent book.
Sounds like an interesting read
Thanks for sharing 👍
Sure, my pleasure
at 557 that is none other than Kurt Meyer without the hat on looking through binoculars and the German Shepherd seen barking is his dog
Well seen
Well done mate! Another great video from you. Also great to watch the newsreel with English subtitles 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Otro gran trabajo, gran intensidad en las imágenes.
Gracias desde Barcelona Everardo.
That Sherman(?) turret armor cracked bady at 4:35

Sehr schön, Grüssen aus Barcelona
Good stuff, thanks.
You bet
At 5:57 Kurt Meyer
He writes about this very action in his book, crazy to see it here!!🎯
Great upload!! I never realized that they had medical tanks. Also, what are the vehicles at 0:14? I have seen VW Thing-like vehicles before, but these seemed different?
Schwimmwagen I think
@@JGCR59 Yes..100% correct
Thank you!!@@JGCR59
Was that panzer meyer at karkov
I have been a subscriber for quite awhile now, always appreciate the content. For clarification, on one of the preceding posts I would like to point out that LSSAH stands for Leibstandte SS Adolf Hitler. I made a similar post yesterday, but it somehow disappeared.
Hello. The UA-cam system automatically removes posts including certain words. I only remove posts that are blatantly inappropriate. Thanks for your input, it might be removed by YT again
Thank you Sir for the response. I try not to post political comments on Historical channels. YT censorship seems likely.@@M1945
Believe me, I know. Thanks for your interest@@DrXarul

Je n'aurais pas dû aller où ?
Pinky Promise?
Pinky promise!
Ну немцы победили 1941 45 ????? Сколько людей убивали
The Germans were winning in 1941 but they certainly lost the war. And of course many, many millions of people were killed and died
..... von der roten Armee.
LSAAH? Leibsstandarte Schutz Adolf Adolf Hitler?
Yes, without the "Schutz"
Very cool video, thanks
Glad you liked it!
Nato soldiers
Not exactly, Germans invading the Soviet Union.
03:20 up....german Armour at his best. I whonder how would we act in the same situation. Between 1939 and 1945 so many preciouse lifes wasted for so unworthy Leaders. It doesn't matter if it was Hitler, Stalin, Churchill or Roosevelt none of them was worth 1 single Soldiers life...Requiescat in Pace (R.I.P.) for all fallen Soldiers.❤❤❤
