What’s even more interesting is that most of the time the pin that is OL is usually the same one that was in this video!! So that diode on that particular pin is a common failure on these Genesis cartridges!!🐺🐺😁😁

Bro, I get so hyped when you fix a game, especially with the resistors. Makes me want to go grab a stock pile of games to fix. So far, I only had 1 it was a starfox for snes with 5 broken traces.
Yeah it’s really common and it’s always the same pin as well. I’m not sure if SEGA is to blame or it’s from misuse. SEGA did have some parts issues back then. 🐺🐺😁😁
I have a minty CIB copy of Battletoads for Sega that stopped working sometime ago. Wondering if mine’s got the same issue as seen in this video. Otherwise, it’s a shame it’s currently just a great looking paperweight.
@@wolfmanrepairs Well, what do ya know? Looks like my copy has the same issue as the one in your video here. Took me a bit longer to diagnose thanks to a faulty multimeter. It was a cheap one, so I wound up ordering a Fluke 115 to replace it with. Wasn’t cheap, but it should last a very long time. Anyway, I was also able to test it against a known working copy of this game, in which everything on the board worked and provided a point of reference. And now that I know my copy exhibits the same fault yours did, I ordered some of the resistors you linked. Hopefully all it takes is one of those to bring this gem back to life.
I’m glad you were able to find the issue!! That stinks about your multimeter though. The fluke meter that I have is over 20 years old!! I hope your new meter serves you well!! And that you’re able to get your copy of Battletoads back up and running after the 1k ohm resistor install!! 🐺🐺😁😁
Yeah this one had a bunch of stickers on it. But it’s also part of this cartridges history. In this case if I remove them this cartridge will still look terrible. Unless I put a new label on it 🐺😁

Yeah it does!! I probably should re paint it and change the capacitors too. Sometimes it makes a humming noise that’s really loud and annoying… 🐺🐺😁😁
