I experience the same here in Ontario , When i go look for them in the bush ,I am not as successful as on the road . Many times when i see one on the road and he gets away ,when i am coming back out I will see him again and one more in the back of the truck ! Its a known fact if people hunted for any time that grouse just like hanging around the road , I not complaining and my belly is not either. Great looking place you have there boys , Happy Hunting and Merry Christmas !
You had another good day in the woods with your friend. That sure looked like a delicious meal you and your woman had cooked up. Some white rice covered with the lovely sauce would go good I think, for me anyway. Thanks for bringing us along really love this kind of stuff. When are you going to be setting rabbit snares. Haven,t seen that yet this season. To early or I guess your just enjoying shooting grouse and rabbit by the roads. Cannot blame you cause it looks like fun.l love watching it. Take care.
Have you tried hunting hares with beagles? I used to do a lot of it years ago when i had more free time. Hoping to get a day in over the holidays. They bring the bunny right back to you. I'd say if you had your pup in with a good beagle after a few times you may be able to train him to hunt like a beagle. Let him do the leg work and you just have to find a good spot to wait for the bunny to cross.
@@hhig2068 I don’t think hunting with dogs would be my thing personally ! Also I’m not in a position to own a dog at the moment … few years down the road I’ll have one for duck hunting so who knows what may happen !
Just started watching your videos…. Congrats and I wish you both success…. I do have one comment for you . I noticed that during your hunts you ate going through the woods in complete camo… no orange hi- vis.. please consider wearing it. The one problem is not your hunting ability but that of some idiot on the other end of a gun. And also you showed yourself driving a quad with no helmet… it only takes one accident and then it’s too late. Please think about my comments. I only am considering your safety. I would like nothing more than to see you put out videos for a long time time. Take care and good luck.
Thanks for watching ! I’m not fond in wearing any type of orange , in my experience it spooks game. I’ve seen it with moose this year post rut , Unless we have multiple people doing a small game drive … if we are in a populated area then I will wear it. I do understand there are idiots out there though. About the helmet , when riding atv it’s not required to wear a helmet if you are going under 20 KM/H while hunting or trapping. A helmet is a huge inconvenience when hunting and trapping lol. I always go slow , 10kmh usually while hunting anyway !
I always have orange hat on for small game especially hunting rabbitsni like to creap around quietly to head off a running bunny. Usually make a cough when situated to let the people in with me know where i am. Also wear orange vest when moose hunting never experienced any spooking. Main thing is to choose a quite fabric for the vest, jacket and pants
great video ,, but just a suggestion , please use gun safety .. walking with your gun on your shoulder make sure it is broke off espically when someone is walking behind you ..
@@joehill9921 I always use gun safety. My gun is always pointed in a safe direction and never towards somebody . We load our guns because we are aware and ready to shoot. I disagree with walking through the woods with the barrel cracked , dirt can easily get in it and cause an obstruction and you can miss out on game that way or you can cause a barrel blowup ! At the end of the day Carry your gun how your comfortable ! Thanks for watching
Thanks for this video. I really enjoy the catch and cook portion.
