There's always been a longing to meet the Pandaren. They're so appealing in that they're from an island steeped in it's own special history, surrounded by mystical waters and exotic mists. That is some of their own lucky lore and it's wholly significant. As a player and experiencer of blizzard's stories, it was refreshing - a refreshing break from all the constant epic frenzy we so often get to/have to deal with. Adventuring on a very special hidden land, uncovering it's mysteries and seeing the links between it and our known world, interacting with or avoiding extraordinary races and peculiar creatures who also call this land home all helped provide the experience and feeling of true exploration. Because I was so fortunate to play a part in Mists of Pandaria, I feel enriched by it's pure waters, enheartened by harmonious bear-folk, and enlightened by the travels of an ancient turtle. I actually felt a breath of fresh air and welcomed Pandaria's native whimsy and curious remarkableness. I felt deep emotion during that expansion, wanting to assist the inhabitants in their plight. I'd love if Azeroth revealed more explorable lands, painted with serene environments and exotic landscapes mixed with unknowable hazards. Until we're IN them, unknowable hazards are truly perilous. So often we can see the dangers ahead or know the threat, partly because we know the bad guys, and it's a matter of waiting until we're given the ability to deal with it. It's probably refreshing for the writers and artists, coming up with unfamiliar stories and creating unseen works, instead of extending the current threat. Coupling danger of an unknown environment we're trying to understand with figuring out how to counter it is thrilling due to all the When asked about playable races, most people pull from a list of what makes sense story-wise or from a list of currently similar avaialable races. But there is another option, being greeted by, discovering, or meeting a race we haven't met yet. Surely Azeroth is home to countless creatures and inhabitants we have not discovered. A people we did not expect to encounter is part of what made getting to know the Pandaren so effective and interesting - we didn't know them or see them being introduced to us as players or to our characters. We got to know them over time. That mystery truly added to the depth of their story. Perhaps we will see new races pop up that we haven't met yet, and get to know them through their expansion. That is one thing I hope for with each expansion. I would like to see that. What little I do know about the Tuskkar and Arakkoa excite me for the possibility of them being playable, plus I love their kits: the shadowy, crooked, trinkety, clever, kooky but warm-hearted Arakkoa, and the big-hearted, brave, stout, adventurous, deep, jolly and kind Tuskarr. There are others of course, but those two instantly pop in my mind as the the known races I'd like to see playable. Blizzard has proven with storylines and art such as those from the snowy Taunka and Tuskkar tribes, the wise and shadowy Arakkoa, and the emboldened Quilboar that special stories and unusual natures that shine in our neighboring races, are some of the best. I would be honored and excited to be given the chance to play as one of these special races. For unknown, I'd love a rabbit or fox race, possibly neighboring Pandaria on a few islands. Samurai and sorcerer type classes. Soft glowing paper lantern class accessory. Oh my god that would be the coolest! I would totally invest my heart and time into that game and onward. Or a Celtic-themed stag race, discovered in an Irishy expansion or zone. That could offer an additional cousin-like direction for druidism that we're unfamiliar with and could be fun!
Actually Asmongold, the Broken use the Tauren skeleton. All of it would check out. The reason I know that is because they have the same animations and laughing sounds. It's very apparent in Old Nagrand.
I like/agree with your idea on having like a class order hall type quest or like the Fel Warlock quest chain in MoP to implement these new sub races. But to be successful i think that after completing the quest you have a one time choice to choose that sub race on your main (and can pay for race change additional times) and then have the sub race be unlocked for any future characters you make. Another thing I would love to see implemented which would go along well with this is like sub races that are class based (sub-classes?). Even though I didnt play Warlock I loved the idea of the fel flame questline in MoP. I know we have the talent trees (obviously...) but for some subraces to apply to only a couple classes. The big problem here is some classes will have much cooler, appearance and lore wise, options and in some ways kind of like the disparity between class mounts or artifact weapons (Paladin Ashbringer, Shaman Elemental mount, etc).
I feel like cured leper gnomes probably have a better chance considering Blizzard hasn't done jack shit with Gnomeregan and could use this as a conclusion to it

There is a conversation you can initiate in The Vindicaar between Lady Liadrin and the Nightborne Silgyrn on how both there races share a tragic past on magic addiction, betrayal, and strength in standing together...
Yeah, the Nightborne and Blood Elves have been getting p tight through the whole expac while Tyrande really only seemed to help to stop the Legion. I think I recall her mentioning something about how she blamed the nightborne for suramar's corruption (it is her home city) The remaining high elves are completely aligned with the alliance or the kirin tor
I think if they combo the scaling tech they added in Legion with sub races and the old zones already in the game they could totally revamp the leveling experience for players as well as the starting experience. I could imagine choosing a mechano gnome and doing your starter quests in Storm peaks before being led to Stormwind. Just a thought....
retooling the armor is actually a lot easier than you think.. As someone who has experience doing 3D art & using WoW model viewer extensively, its not that hard for them to make a new race. Although like you said, I think it'd still be easier to do variations on our existing races.
If love to hear what you guys think, what sub races would you like to see for each race? I'm having a hard time figure out undead, we'll need some more sylvanas story to get an idea of what they can do imo.
About the nightborne and horde. on the vindicaar (spaceship) silgryn and lady liadryn had a dialogue about blood elves joining the horde and the horde helped them through rough times. Thats pretty much it
One way around Goblin and Worgen is it might be fair to assume that they won't add subraces for every race. It makes sense to me that the first ones on the chopping block would be Worgen, Goblin, and Pandaren as they were added later. Particularly Worgen and Goblins, as they have very specific starting experiences AND their racial models are due to be updated like the rest of the races were in Warlords.
they are probably not gonna do that. They already stated that if they could do everything over they would remove racials all together. They learned their lessons with the human racial trinket drama.
It'll be simple? Lore will have to be written, quests will have to be programmed, and even then, would Silvermoon be flooded with void belfs? Or will they need to create and program brand new starting areas?
As a main tauren warrior I would love to se the yaungol as a subrace for taurens. For worgen I think furbolgs it's a good choice, or for pandaren even. I remember that pandaren models (not the hero one) in Warcraft 3 were a recolor of furbolgs.
Actually it takes only few hours of work to create armors size and shape to fit new character. They just don't wanna put the time in it as all expansions are pre planned few years ahead.
I want any update that adds complexity to the game and lets you have different playstyles from players of the same class. As of right now, every class is played relatively the same (except for some PvP situations) and the player behind the keyboard is more affected by his item level as opposed to his skill level. I miss watching old WoW videos where players would discover some unique skill or item combination that fundamentally changed the way their class was played from the average player. I hope adding subraces will bring some of this potential back.
There's quite a lot. Here is an obvious example that dictated the way many classes were played. Before WoD, the effectiveness of DoTs were determined by your current stats when you initially applied them. For example, if you had an active item that gives you 1000 intellect, then that would be the best time to dump all of your DoTs on a target. In MoP, unholy death knights could get their diseases to last around 90 seconds by using festering strike. That means the best trinkets for unholy death knights were trinkets that had long cooldowns but gave a massive amount of strength for a short period of time. So even if the trinket was low item level, it was more effective than higher item level trinkets that only gave secondary stats. If you understood how to abuse DoTs, no matter what class you were, you would perform significantly better than the average player in both PvE and PvP. A skilled unholy death knight could have double the dps of an unholy death knight of the same item level. Other examples of gameplay variety include pre-Cata strategies of REFUSING to upgrade some of your skills from the class trainer in order to use weaker variants of a skill that have faster cast times and lower mana costs. In BC, supposedly some assassination rogues would not learn mutilate in PvP and instead rely on skills from other skill trees. The list goes on. Nowadays, the game is pretty linear.
I don't like the idea of subraces replacing the opportunity to get completely new races. The issue for me is, there is no difference in size or silhouette. If you put a full set of plate armour on a lightforged draenei, it's going to look just like a regular draenei, so what's the point? Of course though, this works if blizzard adds subraces that do have differences in shape (zandalar trolls, nightborne) But at that point, you still have to rig all the armour to the models. Begging the question of why you don't just make a new race at that point.
Well, it makes more sense for nightborne to be horde, because Silgryn and Lady Liadrin had a talk in the Vindicaar about factions, and by the end of the conversation Silgryn seems pretty sold on the idea. And since Lady Liadrin is a blood elf, I doubt Silgryn would go back to the nightborne telling them to join the alliance. However the conversation was more about factions in her real than which one to join. But I still think that it makes enough sense Also there are Gil-Goblins, aka the fish goblins from Vash'jir
But they don't need to make new versions for weapons and shoulders "to fit a new race" The only thing they need to add for a new race is helms and with legion those 3d parts of armor
Running with the idea of reusing skeletons, skins, and assets we have to imagine that we will see an actual half-elf model for Arator in the next expansion, in which case a subrace for elves, humans, or both could be half-elf. It doesn't exist now, of course, but since it will be being made anyway it kind of fits in with the "we've already got most of the work done, let's use this" idea.
I wouldn't want a simple reskinned race. Something like Tuskarr would be a good example of a good sub race, since it's model is a good bit different but not so different that it doesn't feel like a sub race to w/e. We basically already have Dark Iron dwarves in the game, you can make your skin ash black like theirs, don't remember if you get the red eyes though. High Elves wouldn't work because they look exactly the same as normal Blood Elves or non purple Night Elves.
Nightborne make the most sense for Horde as the Nightborne and Sin'dorei have very similar history with both becoming reliant on their wells and becoming manipulated by the Burning Legion. Both Thalyssra and Liadrin made rebellions against their leaders as well with Liadrin opposing Kael'thas in BC with the Shattered Sun Offensive. High Elves are very complicated though because they are very similar to Blood Elves, well they are Blood Elves but they are allied with the Alliance. There's also a crap ton of Troll Tribes, like the Atal'ai in Swamp of Sorrow, Bloodscalp in STV and Skullsplitter in STV. Lots sprung up after Hakkar was defeated in ZG in Vanilla and the Gurubashi Tribe imploded. There's like 10 others as well. Keeping it to the main ones would be the most realistic but Zandalari are most likely to be an oncoming villain so that could be confusing. Also Undead Subraces could be undead versions of different skeletons like their should be thousands of Undead Elves after Arthas destroyed Quel''thalas. Also another Tauren Subrace could be the Yaungol from Pandaria. The best orc subrace would be the straight spine orc, 10/10 would play.
I think they might add a free character customization instead of a lvl 110 free boost, or maybe you can choose if you want to customise your character or get a 110 boost.
Realistically this will be the main selling point of the next xpac + a new area. They also have to make new starting areas for all these sub races so we can assume it is going to be only one per race. I would love to see upright trolls being playable.
there are few others too , like the lodge in hinterlands and few others scattered within azeroth , and very few blood elves who are part of the alliance ( now valeera is neutral but she is most likely does support Anduin as she did with Varian ) maybe they could explain it as they disliked garrosh's rule of tyranny and dislike Sylvanas' rule of necromancy so some defected to rejoin the alliance high elves
Yeah, and trols are part of the horde... The darkspear trols, but not the Amani trols, or the zandalari trols So not all high elves have to be alliance, specially if there is a lore explanation behind it
High Elves are officially still part of the Alliance, problem to make them a playable race is the fact that since the destruction of Quel'Talas they became pretty much a dying race.
The lightforged draenei at the very least have been confirmed to just be new NPC models for 7.3. But if they do end up doing this subrace thing they really should consider giving us a free race change. or some way to do it in the game.
I think even better than dark iron dwarves would be Earthen. And it would fit well with a tentacle expansion, especially since it seems the titans are back.
the trolls are Drakkari(ice trolls) Zandalari(jungle trolls) Gurubashi(forest trolls) Farraki(sand trolls) and the darkspear(island trolls(currently horde)). there are even more troll tribes but they are listed in one of the 5 sub-races of trolls
Subraces means new starting zones, low level quests ect, i think its quite a lot of data to add, would be ok to add just more customization options, different voices even, cause they sound all the same.
I love the idea of subraces. The only thing I would be disappointed by is if they stop at the 4 that have been datamined. The only way to make subraces hype-worthy is if they add atleast 1 for each race.
If they do add in just the 4 sub-races that have been data mined, the horde is getting screwed. Especially if the Void Elves turn out to be like Alleria, they are clearly the coolest looking, and the light forged Draeni are the second coolest, 3rd Coolest is Highmountain Tauren, and last is the Nightborne. If the theme of the next expansion is light and void and is centered in Kul'Tiras, then it wouldn't make any sense for only the alliance to have light and void customization options.
If Horde has an option to make a blood elf a nighbourne (essentially giving horde access to the night elf skeleton), then alliance should get high elf as a night elf subrace (since face it, high elves ARE a subrace of night elves). that would give horde the night elf skeleton and alliance the blood elf skeleton, and would silence alot of people who've been demanding high elves since Vanilla without making them a straight up separate playable race. As for Pandaren...furbolg would be a better match than walrus people >_>
"recently dead like Nathanos" Oh, Asmon. Nathanos has been dead about as long as Sylvannas. The reason those two aren't rotted is bc Syl's body was preserved by dark magic until she reclaimed it. And Nathanos sacrificed his last living relative's life and siphoned some power from a Val'kyr to restore his body to its former strength. So he can serve The Dark Lady longer and stronger (if you know what I mean). I do like your theory though because I always wanted to play a barely-rotten Undead. And the Dark Ranger guard are undead high elves. So hell yeah, Blizzard. Make it happen!
I think it makes sense for the highborne to join the horde. They are hated by the night elves and the highborne on the vindicaar talked to Liadrin about how the blood elves and the highborne both had problems with the sunwell and nightwell. If there will be a race campain it will probably be about the nightborne recently losing the nightwell.
Didn't some Highbornes rejoined the Night Elves in Cataclysm? That's why NE can be mages (I THINK). They use to xmog if I remember correctly before they changed to the ethereals and can still be found beside some enchanting trainers.
thatd be tight like holy shit the zandalari trolls could have like some mad hatred for the iron dwarves then have specific battlegrounds where its 10 trolls vs 10 dwarves
If nightborne are gonna be horde then silver covenant high elf will probably be playable as alliance sub race I guess. Because it would be unfair for horde to get night elves and alliance nothing
Customization and generally being able to play "dress up" has become pretty staple in modern MMO's so adding more of that in WoW would kinda make sense, why not throw in some cool craftable trasmog items for profs like LW/BS and Tailor that can be sold in AH? Recipes could come from literally any content, rep, raid, dungeons, pvp, WQ etc.. seeing that gear doesn't really matter anymore but its the looks that still matter for most people.
Blizzards ticket to success would be to make Murlocs and Etheraels. Those are the two ive been hearing on the big wish list since BC. Honestly i'd pay for race changes on all my characters to Murlocs. Of course these are more new races not subclasses but it would be awesome. Aerokei or however that is spelled would be awesome as well.
I would define the term subrace not in a biological way but instead in a cultural. In my eyes a subrace would be a group that has strong connections to a pre-existing race/faction. With this argumentation, you could group the high elves with the humans of stormwind since most of them asked the humans for refuge after the split in silvermoon. Other subraces would be more obvious like the wildhammer and dark-iron dwarves living in ironforge or the mag'har and dragon-maw orcs (yes, they are still part of the horde) being allied to the horde. A personal wish of mine would be the broken as a draenei-subrace and since they are cut off the light, they would be able to become warlocks and rouges instead.
As software developer I am triggered by the statement that this is necessarily an easy implementation. It LARGELY depends on how forwards compatible and maintained their code is from ~2004 or whenever the game came out. Not to say its not doable, just probably not as easy as you think.
the undead subrace could be like deathknights just pick another race to be "dead" lol either have a LOADDD of different undead quests or ones that make sense, high elves, drawves, nightelves, trolls? - i think that is mostly what was encountered by the undead around their main city of course humans because well their main city used to be human but i dont see many other armies encountering the undead.
Was just thinking maybe the void elves are basically the alliance high elves we've wanted (blue eyes), but are considered void elves b/c of following alleria. Maybe they always appear as in-game high elves like Vereesa/Alleria, but have a racial talent with void magic. Sort of similar to how Draenei have the Gift of the Naaru skill.
Fosaken sub-races could be more along the lines of Sylvanas...based off their living race, rather than just human models. They have a solid start with what they have for the DK models, just a little more rotting and would open it up nicely.
What would make a little more sense imo is subraces for the vanilla and TBC factions. Worgen, Goblins and Pandaren don't really have major subraces (except maybe the Gilblins, but canonically they're all mentally fucked). With that, you could also perhaps not assign subraces to the humans or forsaken; then having four each Alliance/Horde where the subraces are fairly justifiable, if not entrenched per se, in the lore
Maybe some of the new races' starting zones could be set in the past and lead up to the present level like the Demon Hunter's. Lorewalker Cho could "tell us their tale".
I really like your idea for a sub race for undead! Recently undead humans would be great for Xmog because finally we’d have the ability to see our boots! I’ve always felt handicapped with my undead warlock with Xmog due to the skeletal placement taking over certain parts of the gear!
I WANT MY BROWN ORC
Already looking forward to jokes with "Poop" names :x
@Franco Cepeda HOLY FUCK
Brown orc hate horde, Dreanor for Iron Horde faction that u cant play
Bain 6969 I want my Fel Orc from Outlands. Or a Fel Blood Elf, etc.

Need a sub race for humans called neck beards
there are already playable subraces, we call them pandas
LOL
logged in just to like lmfao
Also humans with black skin color
LMAO Panda racist
cmonBruh
Undead can be like dead orcs, tauren, be, or trolls, not like death knight dead, but bones exposed, rotting orcs would be cool as shit

There is a conversation you can initiate in The Vindicaar between Lady Liadrin and the Nightborne Silgyrn on how both there races share a tragic past on magic addiction, betrayal, and strength in standing together...
Hazard2005 Thats pret obvious if you read lore urself
Yeah, the Nightborne and Blood Elves have been getting p tight through the whole expac while Tyrande really only seemed to help to stop the Legion. I think I recall her mentioning something about how she blamed the nightborne for suramar's corruption (it is her home city)
The remaining high elves are completely aligned with the alliance or the kirin tor
All of those races have a player start screen because in quests you play as those races at some point in the game.
Instead of Tuskarr for Pandaren they could implement Furbolgs. Furbolgs are like their distant cousins.
What’s the name of the golden sword at 4:34?
I think if they combo the scaling tech they added in Legion with sub races and the old zones already in the game they could totally revamp the leveling experience for players as well as the starting experience. I could imagine choosing a mechano gnome and doing your starter quests in Storm peaks before being led to Stormwind. Just a thought....
retooling the armor is actually a lot easier than you think..
As someone who has experience doing 3D art & using WoW model viewer extensively, its not that hard for them to make a new race.
Although like you said, I think it'd still be easier to do variations on our existing races.
iron horde orc.
phatmemes Lok'Thar Ogar! 😈
and BRF
If love to hear what you guys think, what sub races would you like to see for each race?
I'm having a hard time figure out undead, we'll need some more sylvanas story to get an idea of what they can do imo.
banshee mb
skeletons!
I want the Asmongold race. Bald withered neckbeards.
I've always wanted a Taunka for my Tauren Warrior. Asmongold did you get the Thundering Black serpernt mount?
It would be cool if the sub races actually got their own racials as well.
they are probably not gonna do that. They already stated that if they could do everything over they would remove racials all together. They learned their lessons with the human racial trinket drama.
@@god6384 this aged well lol
Worgren??
no
Negrow
Or I was thinking Wargrin 😂 “only furries play wargrins” *while wearing a raccoon beanie*
Pan der in
THEY REALLY NEED TO ADD VRYKUL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
Taunka and Tuskar are nice too.
calling it now next race is girafferen
How do you add the sound for getting a new appearance?
But if i make a Highmountain Tauren, Thunder Bluff rep will be the default rep?
I want any update that adds complexity to the game and lets you have different playstyles from players of the same class. As of right now, every class is played relatively the same (except for some PvP situations) and the player behind the keyboard is more affected by his item level as opposed to his skill level. I miss watching old WoW videos where players would discover some unique skill or item combination that fundamentally changed the way their class was played from the average player. I hope adding subraces will bring some of this potential back.
What are some examples of people discovering unique skills/item combinations that changed the way their class was played?
DUDE, that headbutt to your desk... LOL HILARIOUS.... and the mark it left... even better XDXDXD
Begging the question of why you don't just make a new race at that point.
the nightborne on horde and void elfs for alliance sounds realy sick honestly, i would love to play as a void elf
But I still think that it makes enough sense
Also there are Gil-Goblins, aka the fish goblins from Vash'jir
For undead, they should have other races than human become undead, use the gnome baseline to make undead gnomes, etc...
But they don't need to make new versions for weapons and shoulders "to fit a new race"
The only thing they need to add for a new race is helms and with legion those 3d parts of armor
I want to be a vrykul or a valkyr a golden for the alliance and the drak ones for the horde.
I think they might add a free character customization instead of a lvl 110 free boost, or maybe you can choose if you want to customise your character or get a 110 boost.
2:31
check out how that corner lines up with Asmongold's ceiling to the right of his face. Fucking perfect
You already can be a dark iron dwarf TriHard Clap
Realistically this will be the main selling point of the next xpac + a new area. They also have to make new starting areas for all these sub races so we can assume it is going to be only one per race. I would love to see upright trolls being playable.
This sounds strange I know but High Elves are actually officially part of the Alliance i.e the Silver Covenant in Dalaran.
there are few others too , like the lodge in hinterlands and few others scattered within azeroth , and very few blood elves who are part of the alliance ( now valeera is neutral but she is most likely does support Anduin as she did with Varian ) maybe they could explain it as they disliked garrosh's rule of tyranny and dislike Sylvanas' rule of necromancy so some defected to rejoin the alliance high elves
I think we'll get subraces this time and the next time we need a race we'll get high elves and Ogres.
+Armadyl Featherbreeze yea he just said "the Silver Covenant", where Vereesa is the "Ranger General" of that...
Yeah, and trols are part of the horde... The darkspear trols, but not the Amani trols, or the zandalari trols
So not all high elves have to be alliance, specially if there is a lore explanation behind it
High Elves are officially still part of the Alliance, problem to make them a playable race is the fact that since the destruction of Quel'Talas they became pretty much a dying race.
Really tho it would be cool to have like fel or light or void infused effects or something.
Subraces means new starting zones, low level quests ect, i think its quite a lot of data to add, would be ok to add just more customization options, different voices even, cause they sound all the same.
also the last thing the horde needs is more legolas.
.... when TF did he get houlon mount 🧐
Here's a wowhead article about the datamine: www.wowhead.com/news=274436/four-playable-sub-races-in-next-wow-expansion
As for Pandaren...furbolg would be a better match than walrus people >_>
"recently dead like Nathanos"
Oh, Asmon.
For sub races ever patch there will be a new sub races like say patch 8.0.5 they add the or sub races and the dwarf sub races
Blood elves descended from the Highborne if i remember correctly, which is why they would be horde.
I hope we will get a completely new race. Sub-races are cool but i see more like a patch feature and not an expansion feature.
thatd be tight like holy shit the zandalari trolls could have like some mad hatred for the iron dwarves then have specific battlegrounds where its 10 trolls vs 10 dwarves
If nightborne are gonna be horde then silver covenant high elf will probably be playable as alliance sub race I guess. Because it would be unfair for horde to get night elves and alliance nothing
Undead subraces could be like undead types of other races like an undead blood elf which is basically Slyvanas
You forgot the ox dudes for touren
thing is with most sub races they work for both sides and would not make sense to only join one side
i want to see the erodar for the horde. i would love to have a draenai body on the horde side. i like the lore alot more then on the alli side
Tuskarr are related to Tauren tho, so wouldnt make sense to be subrace to the pandaren.
A personal wish of mine would be the broken as a draenei-subrace and since they are cut off the light, they would be able to become warlocks and rouges instead.
i donth think they will do something like this ,because if they do there wont be many new races to make in future expansions
I want elite specs for each spec lol i only want a few new abilities from it but new passives would be dope and lots of cosmetics
Do they actually release any valuable info on the xpac at blizzcon or it more of a trailer reveal and leave us guessing?
As software developer I am triggered by the statement that this is necessarily an easy implementation. It LARGELY depends on how forwards compatible and maintained their code is from ~2004 or whenever the game came out. Not to say its not doable, just probably not as easy as you think.
The first time i saw the highmountain tauren i wanted them as a race
the undead subrace could be like deathknights just pick another race to be "dead" lol either have a LOADDD of different undead quests or ones that make sense, high elves, drawves, nightelves, trolls? - i think that is mostly what was encountered by the undead around their main city of course humans because well their main city used to be human but i dont see many other armies encountering the undead.
I myself would really appreciate more character customization for sure
Was just thinking maybe the void elves are basically the alliance high elves we've wanted (blue eyes), but are considered void elves b/c of following alleria. Maybe they always appear as in-game high elves like Vereesa/Alleria, but have a racial talent with void magic. Sort of similar to how Draenei have the Gift of the Naaru skill.
will faction or race changes work with this?
Fosaken sub-races could be more along the lines of Sylvanas...based off their living race, rather than just human models. They have a solid start with what they have for the DK models, just a little more rotting and would open it up nicely.
I wouldn’t mind seeing some High Elves for the alliance. Would be nice to have Valeria and her people fight for ally.
Saberstalker would be a sub-race of worgen, they have a very similar skeleton
Subraces for Forsaken would be other Horde models aka Orc undead, Troll undead
I'd assume the expansion will come with at least 1 free subrace change for your main.
Naga would only require a pant mesh at most, with a band for boots.
Hmm, Tuskaar for Pandaran actually does make sense.
Maybe some of the new races' starting zones could be set in the past and lead up to the present level like the Demon Hunter's. Lorewalker Cho could "tell us their tale".
How would it work with death knights and demon hunters?
I think every race besides worgen and goblin is getting a sub race. And they are getting their models updated
i want to get the updated worgen model
I would like to see upright walking trolls and orcs ( so basically zandalari and orc like garrosh´s model )
I really like your idea for a sub race for undead! Recently undead humans would be great for Xmog because finally we’d have the ability to see our boots! I’ve always felt handicapped with my undead warlock with Xmog due to the skeletal placement taking over certain parts of the gear!
