The director and writers made this movie with little blood, no gore, and no cussing to get a PG-13 rating but got a an R rating purely on how scary it was. Pretty impressive.

My husband (who is also Alex) hates scary movies and I love them, especially The Conjuring. It was the first movie in a while that actually scared me so of course I made him watch it. I knew the clap scene was coming up and he was completely into the movie by that point. I clapped when they did (right in his ear) and he literally fell to the ground in fetal position! I felt horrible but secretly one of the funniest things I've ever seen 😂

Honestly, I thought these ones were not scary at all. The conjuring and Annabelle ones, but I recently watched the nun, and realised my definition of scary was always just random jumpscares a couple of times through the movie so idk what I'm even doing anymore

"based on a true story" normally means the characters in the movie existed, but probably 99.999% of this never happened. The current owner of the house even gathered months of research and evidence showing there's nothing haunted in the house

Omg yes I saw the original in theater and it quite a terrifying experience since its rated Pg13 I thought it couldn't be tht scary but boy was I wrong!! Insidious is one of the best paranormal movies ever made imo 👍
@@blazejecar The actual house is the Perrin Farm, and it really is haunted. There's enough proof of that, the owners just sold it after only 3 years, they had enough of it. Check out Sam&Colby for instance, paranormal investigators who went there twice. And, the Perrin family liked the movie, because it was mostly accurate, but they state (in their book they wrote about it) the movie was downplayed, because the actual events were alot worse.

The youngest Perron daughter ended up writing books about what happened in the house. Apparently what really happened was way worse than what happened in the movie. They had to not include everything because the movie would’ve been rated X, but they didn’t want it to be worse than R.
when it says "based on the true story" they mean very loosely based and embellished for entertainment purposes. the real story is so much different and didn't have the happy ending this movie had

Yeah, but there have been radio interviews with some of the owners saying nothing happened as well. I think they even tried to sue the people they were buying the property from. So it's a mixed bag.
theres a 3 volume series called "house of darkness, house of light" written by the youngest daughter. Also theres an episode of Paranormal Witness which covers what happened " the real conjuring (season 4, episode 10)
As a horror movie buff, this is the first and so far only horror film that legitimately made me scream out loud. It was that damn witch on the armoire that did it. 😆

I got to tell you Alex, your reactions to the scary scene are pure gold. It's going to remain hilarious until you have a heart attack on screen. As long as you keep listing horror movies on your movie choices people are going to continue to pick them specifically to see more of this. One last point, there are three Conjuring movies, the two Annabelle movies, the nun and I think some other one that I can't think of right now are all connected in that universe. Personally I have also only seen this one, but I thought you'd want to know.
Hopefully ice nine kills will make silver scream 3 and they will include this as one of the songs.

Not gonna lie, I miss James Wan directing these types of horror movies. Him directing Aquaman/DC stuff is dope (good luck to the Aquaman sequel), but when he’s in his horror element, he’s one of my favorite horror directors to do it.
Fun fact...the actual doll was a Raggedy Anne doll which is not scary looking at all. The one in this film was created for the movie it just looks like it can steal your soul with a glimpse. Which obviously is what they wanted!! Great reaction btw I was in tears of laughter the whole time. Thank for taking one for the team! Love your channel.
Edit: Also I'm like you and don't do well with these kinds of movies. I watched this with my son who loves horror movies and I scream like you do when I get scared. Which is why I found it so humorous. I can relate.

In all fairness, Alex has watched some very well made modern horrors on the channel. Not all modern horrors can get under your skin like "It" & "Conjuring"

the conjuring films are AMAZING. IMO there three kinds of horror films:
Slasher: this involves a psycho killer or murderer of some kind (examples: Friday the 13th, Halloween, Child's Play)
Demonology: these are more about inhuman things and can often be more complex, especially the good ones (examples: The Conjuring, Insidious, Sinister)
Psychological: these are the horrors that really mess with your head, the japanese are quite good at these, but there are some from other countries too (The Grudge, The Shining, Rosemary's Baby)
Favorite part: your scream after the Rory mirror scene where you screamed and then frantically looked around like you were searching for your will to live. I’m actually crying 😂😂 Alex, you’re my favorite 🤩🤣

Everyone has their "hell no" thing that some people enjoy. Cave crawling through small places is mine, but many people love spelunking. During horror movies, I pull myself out by thinking of the cameras and crew or sfx involved in the making. That being said, your squirming and screams make for a great reaction, bro.
A tidbit: in Amityville Horror, the soundtrack has a mostly subliminal sound of buzzing bees that puts the audience on edge. Horror film makers know what they're doing. Sweet dreams. Que outro music........

I watched this movie in the theatre when it came out and ended up leaving with multiple bite marks on my hand (which was my then gf's response to being terrified). I had a blast though despite the wounds. It's definitely one of my all time favorite horror flicks.

lmao dude I have not had such a good laugh in a while. This is one of the scariest demon movies out there for sure. The 2nd one is quite good too. Like this one it is full of good scares but there is one particular scene that you will stay awake over. I love the clap game and the two girls in the room part. The rest is a lot more toned down on the scares. James Wan is so good.
