Imagine seeing this in a cinema....I've never been in a cinema that was SO silent. And everytime you heard someone eating popcorn it made the whole thing even more scary!
Fun Fact: They ( the Producers ) didnt plan on an actual deaf girl playing the part, but John Krasinski wanted an actual deaf girl to play her, and made everyone learn sign language. On a side note, another very good Emily Blunt movie is Edge of Tomorrow, also starring Tom Cruise. Very good sci fi film.

🤣 People need to recommend more horror movies because Alex's reactions to the jump scares or the slightest random sound or noise in his room is hysterical.
Part 2 may not be as bad but its still got some pretty good wtf moments and nice edge of your seat moments. This was great to see Alex…Hope you eventually do Part 2. I think the whole cast really did amazing in this and for this to be John’s directorial debut…he couldnt have done a better job.
I'm not into horror films, either, Alex, but this IS a slappin' movie! EDIT: It wasn't the girls fault her brother got killed. She took out the batteries before giving it to him. She didn't know he grabbed them back up. She just didn't realize he didn't understand the importance of not using them. I'm sure someone has probably beat me to it, but John Krasinski co-wrote the story with 2 other writers, he directed it and played the husband. He actually is married to Emily Blunt, but the kids were just actors. The girl, played by Millicent Simmonds is actually deaf. BTW, there's a Part II. 😁
THANK YOU for watching this one! I got SO excited that you watched this one, and was giggling at EVERY. SINGLE. jump scare you reacted to. Best reaction yet from you I've seen!
Your fear of horror movies with suspense is hilarious to watch because most of us felt the same way watching these for the first time. Thanks for the reaction and please watch the second one! These actors/actresses did an amazing job.
I LOVE A Quiet Place!! Probably the only "horror" film I actually love (I don't really consider it horror, more like sci-fi thriller with a sweet epicenter). Lemme say I audibly gasped when I saw the notif for this video! Also, can we just appreciate that this movie pulls zero punches? The youngest kid dies in the first five minutes, it immediately gives us the stakes! Nobody's safe! The setups and payoffs in this are downright BRILLIANT. It takes an interesting premise and delivers!
Now you gotta go watch part 2. This is a stand alone movie if you want... but A Quiet Place II is basically like the second half of a bigger story. Def give it a go. You'd think the effect would wear off after the first one... like, what else could they do?? But it's actually such a great movie too. I would always watch the back to back.
7:52 - NO spoilers: that actually gets explored in the sequel, which you should watch, as it tells one continuous story right where this one left off. Thanks for subjecting yourself for our amusement.
Alex, your editing ALWAYS has me in stitches! I also loved how going into the movie, you were a bit skeptical about the movie. It was like you were broadcasting "How scary can this really be?" Joking about how they had to be quiet all the time. And then by the second half, you were pretty much a member of the family, holding your mouth closed and screaming any time something bad happened. The second movie is EVEN BETTER. The theme of this one was redemption. You caught it. But there's a different theme in the second one. It's powerful, as well.
I've never been a fan of horror movies but this movie is absolutely INCREDIBLE and I loved it (probably because it's not a gory kind of horror film and just has a few jumps). John Krasinski did a fantastic job bringing this to life and of course Emily Blunt and the two kids were fantastic too. This movie truly was unlike anything else and genuinely made you wanna sit there completely silent and not move whenever you watched it, especially in cinemas - people trying to not even rustle their popcorn buckets because they were freaked out. 😂 I LOVED that they put the audio into the daughters perspective whenever she was on screen, because of course she's deaf she can't hear the monsters and other sounds. Such a clever detail. 👏🏻 Hope you watch Part 2!
Same. I've never been into gory, R-rated hacker slasher horror movies (I'm actually pretty squeamish about such things). A Quiet Place 1 and 2 are the only ones I like, because they're more suspense than true horror. And I like that they used a girl who's deaf in real life instead of just having someone pretending.
Absolutely agreed! She did a brilliant job in her role. And agreed on the hacker/gory movies, they're just absolutely not my thing. However, this one had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Brilliant job!@@joshuariddensdale2126
20:38 exactly what they’re doing. Displace your weight over a wider space, like they do with the panel. By the way, people actually can “drown” in grain silos like that if they fall in.
My husband made me watch this movie when I was PREGNANT! So much worse pregnant. I don't even like horror movies, but this one was so well done I had to give it props.
OMG Thank you for finally watching this!!! oh and the daughter is deaf in real life and yes Emily and John are married irl. People die in silos all the time. its like 1000 lbs of pressure if you get sucked into it and please watch the second one
I think the first one is a bit better due to its suspense - and maybe because this type of movie was something new, the second one had a bit more action in it. But I didn't regret buying both films in one case when it dropped on Amazon, and at that point I had never watched the second one! I love them both equally but for different reasons~ Great movies!
In the first scene you can see that nobody has taken any chips or bags from the shelves at the grocery store due to the huge noise that potato chips bag make.
Talking about Emily Blunt, you must watch Edge of Tomorrow. It's one of those great movies that did not get enough attention because of the "superhero era" that we were living. Amazing stuff, great acting, great story, creative aliens, etc.
I’m not gonna lie if he was to see a scary movie with his lights dimmed all the way down it would honestly be the best . This man would look over his shoulder the hole move 😂😂😂
This movie was INCREDIBLE to watch in a packed theatre. And I didn’t know how they would do the whole sound thing so as usual I got popcorn… worst choice ever, but also an incredible experience. I have NEVER paid attention to the sounds I make when I chew things, but for like the first half hour or so I made sure to REEEEEALLY not make any sound and no matter how careful I was my own chewing felt insanely loud because the theatre had nothing but DEAD SILENCE. And it was FULLY PACKED. I have never heard so much silence in such a crowded place. And I mean, as soon as the sounds start in the movie then the sounds seemed to feel more okay in the room too, but that first sequence? Incredible. Amazing. I cannot believe that was Krasinski’s first go at directing a movie either, but he did an excellent job on this one. And when his character signs “I love you, I have always loved you”? Man, I bawl just thinking about it every time. He acted his ass off in this movie, they all did. And it’s especially great because Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are actually married in real life and you can tell. They just have mad chemistry not just because they are good actors, but because the vibes are there and they’re genuine. I’m so in love with all these characters. The second movie is good too, guess in my opinion it just felt less good to me because I’d already seen more or less the same things in the first one, except two goes bigger and has way more characters. So you might enjoy that one too, Cillian Murphy is in it by the way. And by the way I do not believe you only saw two movies with Emily Blunt in them. You mean to tell me you didn’t watch The Devil Wears Prada yet? She was also in this lesser known movie called Dan in Real Life, with Steve Carell, which is really sweet and really good. Not a horror movie by any means- just a fun, cozy flick with some sad moments at times and some good writing overall too. She has a very minor role in that one, but that’s the movie that made me fall in love with her. And you can skip Mary Poppins 2, it’s trash although she’s perfect in the role. It’s just… a waste of time of a movie, unfortunately.
Such a great reaction. I loved how you screamed so loud at the breaking lantern from the start. I love how they built that up to be something scary because it's the first loud sound you hear after the space shuttle. The pervasive silence just amplifies our reactions to any sound. Hope you watch the sequel some day. And definitely watch Edge of Tomorrow as others have suggested. Great film. Btw, I also watched Adjustment Bureau a lot for some reason. 😆
I just love this movie so fucking much. I saw it in cinemas on the same day I saw whichever Avengers movie was out at the time - I saw this during the day and Avengers at night - and I barely gave Avengers a second thought for WEEKS afterwards, I was so taken by this movie. EVERYTHING about it is just incredible, and tragic, and sweet, and terrifying, and just so beautiful. A couple of quick fun facts: John Krasinski wrote and directed - a huge change from being best known as Jim from The Office - and his on-screen wife is played by his real-life wife. The daughter in deaf IRL so the rest of the cast had to learn ASL, and did so happily. Also, those things you thought might be their eyes aren't, those are their ears and they're huge because the creatures are so sensitive to sound. IMO the sequel isn't QUITE as good (but that's a bloody hard thing to do) but it's only very slightly 'lesser' because it's less tense, but it does fill in a lot of details about the creatures, and it expands the world a bit more, so it's definitely worth watching.
John Krasinski is phenomenal both as an actor and director and this film was completely original with story and concept and blending horror with tragedy. It’s a masterpiece
NO, IT WASN'T HER FAULT ! The father took out the batteries, all she did was give him the shuttle, the KID took the batteries, or didn't you bother noticing that ?
This was such an interesting experience in the theater. For the most part, we are all courteous movie-goers, and are quite in the theater... but this movie caused a whole other level of quite. Take your reaction to the roomba, and apply that to an entire theater. People weren't eating popcorn or nachos... they were silent, instead of quiet. Yeah, this was John Krasinski's directorial debut... and he starred in it opposite his real life wife. For a movie that could have fallen short because of so many things, it was spectacular
Falling into a grain silo is practically a death sentence. It's worse than quicksand. Rural firefighters are often trained specially for such rescue/recovery scenarios.
He was right though pure oxygen is insanely light-able that’s why people with oxygen tanks can’t have a lighter any where near them because if a little fire goes in the whole thing can explode
@@reganborrellifaithinthefut3251Right and wrong; oxygen itself isn't flammable at all, but it helps everything that IS burn way, way more easily, so you basically treat it the same way as if it were.

Where is the government? They could easily destroy these things. The girl realizing her earpiece saves the day but not telling anybody. I Like the original idea and acting but hate the overall execution. And I wouldn’t let my kids walk behind me and my wife at the mall let alone in the middle of monster infested grounds
@@juicebox151she didn’t realize her ear piece did that. she just thought it was acting up the whole time
@@juicebox151 Where is the government? Probably all hiding in bunkers waiting for it to all blow over. You absolutely cannot depend on the government in a dire situation. Hell you can barely depend on them in good times.
I love part 2!
May not be as bad? In my opinion, I personally think part 2 is better than the first. It shows more danger with the setting
@@chiomorii agreed, part 2 is better.
Part II had me silent screaming lmao
10:00 "If I were in, dude, I would die from the fucking roomba!" XD
Alex yelling "FUCK!" every time he's scared will always be hilarious
THANK YOU for watching this one! I got SO excited that you watched this one, and was giggling at EVERY. SINGLE. jump scare you reacted to. Best reaction yet from you I've seen!
BEST reaction I've seen from a reaction video-PERIOD.
"So, is the nail gonna be handy for later?"
Nope, it's gonna be for FOOT later...
I just want the full compilation of Alex's jumpscare screams.
Hopefully we get that shit before new years, 2023 comp of his jump scares 😭😭
Oh nice! Can’t wait to check that out!!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievaultyes please please please do the second one!!!
This movie is genius because it even makes the audience want to hold their breath and not make any noise

@@mmkay3296, if I recall correctly, Alex edits his own videos, so it is his editing. Have you never seen his alter ego, Editing Alex?
I love the second it continues the story and we learn how everything started.
When you’re in quicksand, you’ll stop sinking once you’ve displaced enough sand equivalent to what you weigh.
OMG Thank you for finally watching this!!! oh and the daughter is deaf in real life and yes Emily and John are married irl. People die in silos all the time. its like 1000 lbs of pressure if you get sucked into it and please watch the second one
I watched this in theaters... It was terrifying to be surrounded by a big screen with loud scares.
Now you have to watch part 2. It is on the same level as this one and is just as good, if not, better
This was a unexpected treat! Loved this movie, you definitely gotta check out the sequel it’s even scarier!
0:18 I wouldn’t exactly call a quiet place a horror movie, I’d say it’s more of a suspenseful thriller.
No, that's not its eye, it's its ear, that's why it hears so good.
I really hope you watch the second one, because the opening moments are not only chef's kiss amazing, but key. Great video as always.
Noted!
Talking about Emily Blunt, you must watch Edge of Tomorrow. It's one of those great movies that did not get enough attention because of the "superhero era" that we were living. Amazing stuff, great acting, great story, creative aliens, etc.
This was so good. The sequel was equally good. And then there's a prequel, called A Quiet Place Day One. I can't wait to see it.
Your screams are scaring me more than the actual scenes 😂
Every time he’s jump scared he’s about to be like “with this treasure, ancient seal of Divine general MAHORAGA” ahmoment
I didn’t expect this reaction but I’m so glad you did it 🙏 One of my favourite horror movies of all time
The high pitch sound for the weakness made me think of Venom
I never knew I needed to hear Alex screaming like crazy at every noise😂
Such a great reaction. I loved how you screamed so loud at the breaking lantern from the start. I love how they built that up to be something scary because it's the first loud sound you hear after the space shuttle. The pervasive silence just amplifies our reactions to any sound. Hope you watch the sequel some day. And definitely watch Edge of Tomorrow as others have suggested. Great film. Btw, I also watched Adjustment Bureau a lot for some reason. 😆
I would love to see you reacting to japanese horror movies. You'd need a paramedic nearby.
I love how each time Alex gets scared he goes into a different stance of martial arts. Bro became master Shifu each time he heard a noise.
watching dylan get scared over and over is premium content.
Dylan 😂😂
Bro was definitely thinking of Dylan Is In Trouble💀
OMG RIGHT!!!!!!! I missed this in theaters and ALL my friends told me it was an ENTIRE experience and I feel I missed out.
22:28 better reach with a pitchfork, and greater force on a smaller surface area with the spikes. Honestly I kind of agree with you.
John Krasinski is phenomenal both as an actor and director and this film was completely original with story and concept and blending horror with tragedy. It’s a masterpiece
Him jumping…. Had me laughing so hard!!!! 😂😂😂
I had WAYYYYYY too much fun watching this 💀
John Kosinski, husband, and wife work so well together plus John wrote and directed this movie 🙏🏼🙏🏼 freaking awesome
Part 2 is a must watch. Starts with some flash back to day 0. And I agree with watching Edge of Tomorrow.
"Does she feel responsible? I mean it was 100 percent her fault."
Damn. Coldhearted.
NO, IT WASN'T HER FAULT ! The father took out the batteries, all she did was give him the shuttle, the KID took the batteries, or didn't you bother noticing that ?
the amount of times he junped and screamed fuck is unreasonably hilarious
There cannot be fire without oxygen,Alex 😅
He was right though pure oxygen is insanely light-able that’s why people with oxygen tanks can’t have a lighter any where near them because if a little fire goes in the whole thing can explode
@@reganborrellifaithinthefut3251Right and wrong; oxygen itself isn't flammable at all, but it helps everything that IS burn way, way more easily, so you basically treat it the same way as if it were.
