One of the best most relatable lines..."A person is smart. People are dumb, dangerous, panicky animals and you know it". So so true

The "Elvis just went home" joke is saying that Elvis was a alien, and he left to go to his home planet.
Omg thank you for clarifying that. I bet it would have mystified scholars for the next ten thousand years had it not been for your intrepid wisdom!
@@stevewoolhiser7249 This person explained it because Alex seemed confused by the line. There's really no need to be nasty about it.
@@stevewoolhiser7249 thank you for being such a condescending idiot!
I honestly think J’s justification for shooting the little girl should have been enough to earn him a spot in MIB. He didn’t shoot the “big scary aliens”, and instead shot the girl who was calmly walking through a terrifying alley at night with physics books. As an MIB agent, he’d have to make split second decisions, while also not judging aliens by their scary appearance. And then there’s the fact that many aliens can blend right in as humans.
I think that was the entire point of the test, and why its the last of their tests. J absolutely nailed it. All it took for the fancy soldiers to shoot was some scary looking monsters and blinking light, and they immediately started shooting to kill, except J. he kept calm and assessed the situation, and acting accordingly. It would be a huge pain for MIB if their agents kept getting spooked and shooting innocent refugees.. probably the best part about the whole movie.
Myself and I hope others agree, do the trilogy! You can leave out the newest one if you want. It wasnt the worst movie I ever seen but it wasnt anything I needed to watch twice.
There also was an animated series.
There’s a new MIB movie?
@@toddschneider847 international I think-with Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson
@@toddschneider847 After the first movie, Warner Brothers put out an animated series on TV, then came the rest of the trilogy, followed by Men in Black International.

OK so here's the full version of the joke Kay was telling in the restaurant: a man and a woman decided to take in a movie one night, and it just so happens that on that same night a farmer has decided to sneak in one of his roosters from his farm. After getting their snacks the couple head into the darkened auditorium, which is nearly full. there are only two seats left, and they happen to be next to the farmer and the rooster which he has concealed in his pants. Midway through the movie the rooster pokes his head out of the farmer's zipper and begins to peck and eat the woman's popcorn, she notices and nudges her husband; "Honey, look what this guy's cock is doing!" Her husband replies; "Ah, don't pay it no mind, if you've seen one you've seen 'em all!" So she looks over at her husband and says; " Yeah, but Honey this one's eating my popcorn!'
A 20 year old mystery solved. Thank you!
Not all heroes wear capes man! Lol thx 🙏🏽 bc I never knew the rest either 😂
I never heard that joke before lmao
How did you know that?!
Is it possible to acquire this knowledge?
I still held will smith in high regards due to his past career, he made a big portion of my childhood
I was a huge fresh prince fan
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault I used to Dream he got Fresh with me!
The guy who gets taken over by the alien and loves cockroaches is Vincent Donofrio. He also starred in "Full Metal Jacket" and was in "Adventures in Babysitting" and he was on the show "Daredevil". The man is such a great "chameleon actor".
Great in multiseason TV show Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Loved him in the magnificent 7
He’s brilliant in this
ho ly shit
The Male Morgue attendant is David Cross. He also shows up as a new character in MiB II, Newton, a video store owner. Cross loves tiny little cameo roles in tons of stuff.
his body of work is huge, but i’d say he’s most well-known for playing tobias fünke on arrested development. and yes, he was in scary movie 2 🙂
Ronnie Dobbs!!!!
Ian in the Alvin and the Chipmunk movies too (my kids went through a phase of watching them often)
Gizmo from Small Soldiers XD
who says he's a "new" character.. Maybe his memory was erased and he ended up in a video store.. ;)
…..I…..I have a pug named Frank. We hadn’t seen these movies in so long and didn’t realize that we had done that until someone pointed it out. So thank you to MIB for silently influencing us like 20 years later 😂
To answer the monster goop question. It’s usually a glycerin mixture. Or some sort of slime that’s thinned with water to get the right consistency.
That is awesome!!
Honestly the CG is dated but it still holds up well. I love this movie so much. It's iconic and brings back some good childhood memories
Back in the day this movie had the best of the best special effects
And a great soundtrack 👌
🔥🔥🔥
I still like to think it still ia
@@breaderbrawler7894 They really do hold up. That's what's great about practical effects, the puppetry work in the MiB series was awesome.
They hold up rather well even today, more than two decades today after the fact.
Quality, I tell ya.
I remember being confused about the genre of this movie after it first came out. And then a friend told me to think of it the way I did the first ghostbusters movie. That clicked it all into place for me.
Action comedy sci fi right?
That's easy .... Sci-Fi Comedy!
There’s a Horror element to it in there also. The jump scares. The monsters/alien/ghosts attacks. Something like Cabin in the Woods, but more family friendly.
It's Sci-Fi and Comedy... fucking obviously????
This was such a surprising movie when it came out. Funny, quirky, a little scary. Great FX.
Vincent D'Onofrio is an underrated actor. Edger is one of his many good roles. I'd check out more of his films.
That's Egger ....

"It is better to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all" was originally part of an elegy. In context, when that loss is death, it makes a lot of sense. My husband will die someday. If it happens before I go, I know I'll be in a lot of pain, and grief that I can't even really comprehend until/unless it happens. But I am 100% certain that I wouldn't give up my time with him for anything, no matter how much it hurts. It's the same for the love I feel for my family, and my closest friends. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
In this situation, I agree with it. Nobody died every time I fell in love and had to learn firsthand how selfish, narcissistic, and sociopathic everyone is these days. No thanks. I'd rather be an unfeeling, uncaring asshole like everyone else than to have "loved and lost."
I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 16. It was a huge deal when it was coming out and my mom had won advanced screening tickets from the radio so we were able to see it the week before it released. Such a fun memory.
Glad that memory could resurface!
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault thanks to you sir appreciate it greatly and your videos!
I was born in 1997 so I probably didn't see it in theaters, unless I was old enough to go to movies without going nuts, but probably not. Maybe I was at one of the sequels though, I do remember watching all 3 Men In Blacks countless times as a kid though.
@@Werewolf914 I got out of foster care in `97. That was also the golden age of Cartoon Network!
@@AspieMediaBobby hope you’re having a wonderful life nowadays!
Now that you have done the first MIB it makes sense to do the sequels. MIB is just good fun. It is meant to be strange. It is a Sci Fi comedy. Spaceballs and Galaxy Quest are other good Sci Fi comedies.
Great suggestions!
Oh my gosh! I’m so glad someone else knows about Galaxy Quest! I was explaining the movie to my coworkers the other day and none of them believed me that it was a real movie 😭
Galaxy quest is a G.O.A.T movie! From my child hood as is spaceballs, to the point I became confused between SW and SPaceballs lol!
Yea just go ahead and skip the 4th one.. "Persons in black international" only movie that scored below 30 on rotten, infact to hammer down the fact, it scored 23.. real stinker
I also recommend Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
This movie was my childhood. I have seen it SO many times. It was truly ahead of it's time! Enjoy!
definitely held up!
This is Marvel movie in name only. The publisher that owned the Men in Black comic was bought by Marvel Comics in the mid-90’s.
I still love this movie. I just wish I still had my signed MiB comics (they got lost in a move).
We were so psyched when Lowell, who lived and probably still lives in my hometown, told us that his comics had been optioned by Hollywood. 😀 He was always so just quiet and cool and still is. When MiB came out the local paper interviewed him and he just referred to himself as a local geek who got lucky and made good. 😀 I would still see him around town when I would go back, usually browsing around the used book store, wearing one of his many cool bowling shirts. We'd stop and chat for a while and he's just so chill. And nobody pays him a lick of attention cos he just looks like your average aging nerd, which is how he likes it. 😀
"Elvis is not dead. He just went home." Kay was saying that Elvis was an alien, too.
12:42 Tall Guy is played by Carel Struycken, who previously won hearts playing both Mr. Homm on "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and Lurch in "The Addams Family" films (also by the Sonnenfeld brothers).
This film is loosely based on an Aircel comic book that later became Malibu Comics which was later bought by MARVEL Comics .It started as a horror anthology black-and-white comic book similar to "The Twilight Zone" and "Outer Limits",with the introduction of the Comics Code Authority it became more of a mainstream sci-fi,comedic title like the film adaptation. The animated series on Kids WB balanced the universe, characters and comedy relief of the film with the dark, conspiratorial tone of the original comics.
Right on! I came here to say exactly this. While 'Men in Black' is technically a MARVEL property by acquisition it's not a "Marvel Comics" comic book.
Absolutely please do continue all of this, you're one of my favorite reactors of all time
It'd be funny if you released this on marvel Monday after realizing it's based on a marvel comic. Love your reactions man, keep em up. Cool to know you're only a year older than me.
Right?!
I saw this one in theaters. Back in the 90s I was a BIG Will Smith fan. He was just a funny guy. Fresh Prince, Independence Day, Men in Black. Plus he did some great dramatic stuff like "Enemy of the State" with Gene Hackman. It all came to a head with 1999s Wild Wild West, and his career was never quite the same after that.
"Here Comes The Men in Black" is such a great toon.
I wouldn't say the film is a parody as such. It's not really making fun of anything. It's more of a whimsical comedic film taking certain pop culture things and playing with them. IE, the men in black, alien abductions/conspiracies and combining them with Will Smith's sense of humor. I think the two leads do a great job and have some fantastic moments. They tried to replicate this idea with Wild Wild West... Which is one of those movies I want to love more than I do.
I'm not too keen on the sequels. Men in Black 2, from 2002, it just feels.... Like it suffers from America's post 9/11 depression. It wants to be a 90s movie so bad, but everything feels stilted, awkward, and rushed to me. Men in Black 3 is a bit of a return to form, but that's ten years later. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Johns look especially aged. I don't know. I think Men in Black was a one and done film for me. The first one is still pretty damn great. The animated TV series was also pretty awesome, too.
I'd love to see you suffer through WIld Wild West. Just as a companion piece to compare with the original Men in Black and how a "mixed genre comedy" can go horribly, horribly, wrong.
The goo used for the bug's death is KY jelly. Same stuff used for the Xenomorph in Alien. It is the go-to in Hollywood for generic alien slime, because you can get a lot of it for cheap, and it's not irritating to the skin.
"You do know Elvis is dead, right?"
"No Elvis is not dead, he just went home."
Your look of confusion. . .just adds to the scene. 🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣
We actually watched this in school. My teacher had watched it at the movies, thought it was brilliant. Brought it to school when it came out in VHS for us to watch. Excuse was it was relevant to immigration and so on. Awesome teacher.
Saw this in theaters back in 1997, I was 13. It’s still awesome! 🔥
The amount of “dick speak” in this reaction was alarming lol
Please watch the other two, they're really good. Also people say it's not great, but another Will Smith movie I love is Wild Wild West, it's so cheesy and stupid but I love it
Love will smith!
The reason J spits out the lemonade is because she doesn't have any sugar left.
i always chuckle at the part when they are in the HQ and he states while holding a mini disk "these will replace CD soon" bit as the mini disk did indeed come out very shortly after the film but flopped big time along with the Zip Drive XD
🤣🤣🤣
Take the time to watch Casablanca, considered to be one of the great romantic movies. It was shot in the 40's so yes, it is black and white. The dialogue may seem a little stilted, but the story is unbeatable.
"The dialogue may seem a little stilted", mate, Casablanca has one of the best writing ever, with brilliant dialogue.
@@celinhabr1 Don't misunderstand, I love the dialogue, but it is definitely dated. Today it would seem very formal. I wouldn't change it for anything, it is perfect for the movie.
Every time I see the twin towers in a movie made before September 11th 2001 it always gets me in the heart.. I can remember what I was doing that exact minute I was working for a moving company and we were moving this lady stuff and she comes running out the house screaming the towers are hit the towers are hit and we were all like what's going on and we went in there and watched it and seen the second plane hit live and ever since then it's just crazy to see them in pictures and movies
Crazy right?
Loved it! First is O.G! The third is my favourite. I quote a line from that movie alll the time ahha!
Keep up the great work 🤩
Vincent D’Onofrio played the bug alien character. You may no him from Full Metal Jacket as Leonard or more recent as King Pin in Daredevil among a million other roles.
The first few times I watched MiB, I didn't have a real concept of what movie production and "acting" actually entailed. I just didn't question for one second that this was an alien wearing the rotting skin of a human. I can now see that "D'nofrio" absolutely KILLED this insanely difficult role. The voice, the way he sells it with the awkward, jerky mannerisms. I just looked it up and no one got an Oscar, but the film did win Best Makeup and I guess that's fair.
Also Jurassic world and Hawkeye
I don't think you've seen it yet. And this is weird But if you enjoy marvel stuff just stop the movies for now and watch all 3 seasons of daredevil and the punisher. And season one of Jessica Jones. It's better than every single movie I promise you
Tim Russ will ALWAYS be famous for saying "We ain't found sh!t."
Siobhan Fallon will ALWAYS be famous for saying "Edgar suit."
This was originally a Malibu Comics title, but Marvel bought Malibu. The original was much darker than the movie and MiB was a more malevolent organization. Later comics were based or inspired by the movies and the cartoon that was based on them, rather than Lowell Cunningham's original comics and were much more lighthearted and comedic.
The fact that you didn’t recognize the tall guy in this film, makes me think you have never watched “The Adams Family” movie, he plays Lurch. So in that case, please watch for Halloween! 🙏🏻🎃
Omgosh super cool 😎 that you’re reacting to this.

Edgar is played by Vincent D'Onofrio.
He also plays the Kingpin in Netflix Daredevil and Gomer Pile in Full Metal Jacket among other things.
Very underrated actor.
MIB 2 is good, but the one that legitimately blew me (and my family) away was actually MIB International. Like, my wife and I saw MIB back in the day (heck, I even watched the cartoon they did for MIB!), and we were curious to see how it went, but we did not expect to enjoy it as absolutely much as we did. But, heck, it's Thor and Valkyrie in the MIB (like, no joke, same actors). It was really amazing, and I really hope you get to see it and react to it!
The men in black movies have been aired on so many times so I'm surprised you haven't seen the movies. You may have past it or seen it on the TV guide sometimes though. Great reaction! I'm glad you're channel was in my recommendations
I was 10 when this movie came out. It's the first movie that I saw in the cinema that wasn't a 'kids' movie. It was awesome then and it still holds up now. Love it.

The amount of times I have said to my kids, “You don’t start nothin’, there won’t be nothin’!”
My pug's full name is Sir Buford Frank Dunn (aka The Boof). He's named after that one kid in Phineas And Ferb, and then the pug from this movie.
The one thing that always bugged me ( No pun intended) I feel like for this kind of job, even though Jay was already a police officer, You would probably want to do more than one mission before you let a Guy who just found out there are even aliens on the planet. Take over for one of your senior agents. And you probably also wouldn't assign him a fellow brand newby as a partner.
Exactly 🤣🤣
Small bit of trivia, the slugs hanging out around the coffee pot are all speaking the same language as Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars Return of the Jedi.
The "goop" they use for the slime effect is methylcellulose, and it's the same stuff they use to increase the liquid density of thick shakes and gravy, among other foods.

One thing that makes me think is the guy who pays the farmer/alien bug thing is Vincent denofrio who plays Kingpin in Daredevil, Hawkeye and now Echo
I really love the Practical effects how Edgar looks like he's decomposing throughout the entire movie cuz he's dead and he's just in Edgar suit
Fun fact: In Men In Black, the Edgar suit decomposes as the movie goes on.
U totally have to watch the sequels now. The 3rd one might be my favorite, because of the story/the way it all wraps up.

The bug dude was played by Vincent D'Onofrio, who was also Kingpin in the Daredevil & Hawkeye shows, Thor in Adventures In Babysitting, Satan in The Cell and Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket.
Most "movie goop" is made of methyl cellulose. It's used to thicken foods and for a lot (A LOT) of other stuff.
The roach goop was runnier than usual (movies tend to use it in a more... snot-like viscosity), but they add different things to make it runnier or thicker, different coloring agents, and sometimes bits of stuff (like sand, grains, and so on) to change the texture, depending on the look they're going for.
It could have been any number of things, but the safest bet is methyl cellulose.
@14:54 Was the lemonade gag where they took her offer for lemonade but Edgar got all the sugar earlier on so that's pretty much just straight lemon juice and a bit of water.
Your reactions have been awesome 👌. Keep it up.
Thank you so much!
the point of the test with short pencils and no place to write was to see who would utilize the table first
You were three when this came out, I was watching it in the on-base theater while I was deployed to Turkey.
One of my favorite movies and trilogies and used to watch the cartoon a lot as a child.
I don't know if anyone else explained this, but during the tests J was the only one to actually pass all the tests, it wasn't just about speed. The chairs were purposely designed that way to be uncomfortable and awkward because they were testing to see if anyone would think beyond the paper and look to solve a problem they aren't immediately aware of, which they saw in J when he dragged the table to his chair, so the paper test itself didn't actually mean anything. In the shooting test it wasn't about shooting the aliens it was about looking for clues that something bigger was going on, all the military guys were just shooting aliens because they looked scary and were aliens, which you can't just go around shooting every alien you see in a profession that interacts with aliens constantly, J was the only one who showed restraint and applied logic with context surrounding the environment of the scenario as to why he shot the little girl. The reason why K was having to plead for him to join is because joining is a humongous commitment with the whole erasing your identity and having you leave your life behind.
It's amazing to me how many people didn't understand this part of the movie.
Let’s not ever start with that intro again. My mother was in the room when I played the video and for two seconds she gave me the craziest look I’ve ever seen her make 😂. I had to explain that you just say some off the wall shit sometimes 😂
MIB is a very fun and good movie. I like all of them. They did a lot of fun knocks to who are aliens. My aunt, like in Independence Day, is part of the grip department in this movie too.
Will Smith spits out the Lemonde Beatrix gives him because it's just lemon juice. She didn't have any sugar because she gave it all to "Edgar". It's a cool little detail to put in the film.
All 3 of the main MiB movies are great to see. Also, If you like Thor and Valkyrie from Thor Ragnarok, you'll be amused by MiB: International because the actors are both in it.
