2017 Suzuki Ignis review | CarAdvice

  • The Suzuki Ignis is back from the dead after a decade-long absence, the latest in the brand’s growing line of reborn '90s nameplates including the Vitara and Baleno. Moreover, it's affixed to one of the most intrinsically likeable cars you can buy.
Like the old version - which in retrospect was ahead of its time and was more or less the same size - the 2017 Ignis is a tiny urban runabout with the stance and space of a small crossover. Indeed, Suzuki wants you to consider it the market's first true 'light SUV'.

Seems it is Suzuki's answer to mini at fraction of the cost , and I like it ... love the retro look to it ...it's different ( some will say ugly ) but that's where its charms lay , which makes it unique and desirable... much like the mini

Mini cooper founder name is Sir Alec issigonis. Is name ignis related to Issigonis? But the purpose he made mini is to create cheap small good gasoline cunsumption car. Same with my ignis. I use this ignis in indonesia petrol tipe since 2018 that use AGS matic transmition that actualy manual transmition with computer so has only two pedal.
Very valueble money car with price same as the cheapest toyota or daihatsu car in indonesia we get the Nexa car branded from suzuki in india. Imported to indonesia. Very top in gasoline consumption in indonesia 17 km/ L in trafic jam, quiet car , good looking exterior and nice interior design, we get extrem Air conditioner panel, LCD monitor music player JVC.
I like using AGS transmition we can use manual that can fast aceleration in city and use automatic mode in highway.
In maintanance fee and oil is 1/ 3 daihatsu or toyota. Body plat ignis is so thick, more thick than the highest price Toyota car Fortuner SUV. Ground clearence is high so match with the majority bad road in my country. Before i use Daihatsu Sirion hathback low ground clearance that often body repair because road condition. Since 2018 until now 40.000 km.

@@henrybyrd5402 I had the CTV automatic and it has worked brilliantly from day one and makes good use of the engines power.Like all CVT's there's a small amount of whine but I found it totally unobtrusive. Ive used many CVT's in Honda Jazz's also, with total reliability. Many vehicles having well over 250,000km . They allow the engine to deliver its optimum torque at all times and make the Ignis feel very spritely. I highly recommend it but try one for yourself Henry and see what you think.

this car is tiny for the reviewer. that head room for him is like non existent, a small bump in the road will make his head touch the roof. This car is for short to mid height ppl. Good city car though.

tachas1984, I am 183 cm and have plenty of headroom in the back and in the front. For me it outperformed many cars, it is not all perfect but it suits me.

whenever you are searching for a car you must keep three things in your mind.
      1. car weight
      2. engine power
      3. comfortable seating
car weight plays an important role when you drive a car on highway at high speed here car's weight plays an important role, heavy weighted cars performs very well.

      car is Like a investment,
Ignis is a good looking car but it is light weighted.
I took a test drive and found that it's push button placement is also wrong.
here is a suggestion for you never search your dream car in showroom, because sales man always tries to make their own brand better.
always search your dream car on roads.
try to take reviews from on road.

@@R4T4T4T It's okay, it has a robust feeling to it,feels like driving an old 90's car, it has no comfort, no extras and feels like driving a can of beans, it's really cheap. This summer a brand new one used to cost around 18,000 Euro. Buy a 3-4 year old Toyota CHR instead - you would have tons of extras, a pretty decent small SUV and would have a 4,8-5 l/100km which is surreal.
