Great 💜 video📹 So much passion 👏💗 How did it go with booking appointments? I'm based in Wales and general health check ups like doctors and dentists are not allowed. I did have a pap smear recently as got a letter to have this done, all good with results.
My self care weekend is usually just watching youtube videos, ordering take out, and trying to ignore my responsibilities. it's equally as relaxing as it is stressful.
I’m pretty self-disciplined (or so I like to think) but when it comes to watching my fave stuff on YT during this time... I’m spineless. I’m with ya on this one Sistah... except that we live in the wilderness of 🇨🇦 (waaayyy north of Levi Hildebrand) and we have no restaurants or take-out or anything where I live. But we are cooking up a storm on weekends, so we’re self-caring in the kitchen. Have a great day Aime.

Sitting outside again with some sun here in Vienna is so renewing after 4 months of fog and darkness! Just like you said, the amazing feeling having light at 5 pm now!
Here in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) region of 🇨🇦 we don’t have much sun at this time of the year, but thank goodness we are seeing the extra daylight. It makes such a difference when I can get home from work in the daylight. AND... the time change happens here on March 14... more daylight after work... then I’ll really be doing a cartwheel (in my mind at least). Have a great rest of your weekend.
I love how you tackle self care. I'm a big preacher of self care being more about brushing your teeth, vs getting a ton of shit from lush lol. Right now my leg is broken and I'm MEGA struggling :( I feel even more isolated and depressed. I bookmarked this video for May to get my shit together again and I wish I could think of ways to care for myself right now! It's all I can do just to get to the bathroom every time I need to go right now. Hopefully sooner than later I can work on this.
I feel you, last year I had an injury that didn't allow me to do anything for many months, I thought I was going nuts. It helped to focus on things I could do instead of what I couldn't do, and being compassionate with myself and not trying to be overly productive. Maybe make a list of things you've always wanted to do but didn't have the time or disposition for it, like listening to music, podcasts, reading books, making meal plans or any other plans for when you are better, whatever makes you feel good. Hope this helps and you have a speedy recovery!
I was putting off my smear test for so long. I finally ended up booking the appointment and went and I was so scared, cause it was my first one, but it honestly was fine. I felt like a badass that I got it done 👏🏼
I love how real you are. It's so hard to describe but a lot of people make things look so nice all the time to the point where I don't even believe it's real. Like I feel like with you, I'm just hanging with a friend, not some UA-camr trying to pretend everything is fine and dandy. I just can't describe it, you're amazing :)
thanks so much for talking about how important it is to get your smear test done!! (and for using inclusive language!! grateful trans guy here) it's so so vital and so few people between 25 - 30 go for theirs, being open about it is so great to see 💕
Well done for persevering despite not feeling your best. I think we can also put things off if we're being very British and thinking I won't book that they're really busy dealing with everything going on I don't want to bother them. Well done 🌟
Research suggests that you make more progress by increasing the frequency at which you exercise (#of times per week) rather than increasing the length or intensity of each workout. Training to the point of exhaustion doesn't seem to have many benefits over medium-intensity exercise :)
I'm training as a teacher atm and am going back to school tomorrow after half term because I've been working with the key worker kids who are still in school and so today I did all the things that once I'm back at school I won't always have time for: went for a run, made a healthy soup, cleaned and tidied my room, watered my plants, changed my bed sheets and I feel like all of this is self care even if it's not exactly fun or involves baths and drinking wine
Hi Erin... I’m a high school teacher in 🇨🇦... have been for the past 34 years. I love your comment and can totally relate to the practicality of your efforts. On Sunday night as I gear up for the upcoming week, I want to watch YT and enjoy reading or hobbies before the weekend runs out. BUT I know better... so I take this time to make my lunch, organize and iron my teacher clothes, call my Dad, and clear my tiny office space. Not terribly exciting or relaxing stuff, but I know I will have a better Monday and a better week if I tidy, plan, and get organized on Sunday. Good luck at school with your new term 🍎🖊📚
I struggle with trichtollomania and you’ve encouraged me to go do a hair mask this afternoon and I’m going to try wearing plaits again as a protective measure this week.
I also have trich! In early January when the US was a dumpster fire, I ended up pulling out a lot of hair at the front, but I've got about a centimeter of regrowth now. Sorry if it seems weird, just wanted to say you're not alone.
How dfficult it must be to have been separated from your darling fellow for so long! I am missing my family and friends as I live alone way out in the country in the snowy mountains of WVa. Travel is normally difficult in winter but even more so this year with the damnedable Pandemic. Still, I'm watching the days get longer, planning my spring gardening and keeping up my spirits as best I can. Things will get better! Meanwhile, let's all give ourselves a pat on the back for keeping going on our path to sustainable living and spiritual evolvement. Blessings to all. Jan
I am struggling too. Decided to listen to UA-cam while cleaning my fridge. I bought some really cheap colored cauliflower that needs "processed". I have been getting the florets ready to cook as needed and turning the stems into cauliflower rice for the freezer in single serving packs. Also have been getting things ready to start some seeds. Watching things grow does a lot for me.
May be mentioned as I’m only a couple of minutes in... but Opticians too! Even if you don’t have any sight deterioration, they can detect things with your eyes (and even onset of other conditions) before you notice it! Get them booked. Healthy eyes are sooooo important!
I'm in a long distance relationship too. I have been fortunate to have been quarantined in Brazil with my partner and his family for a year. However I totally get it. I am leaving to go back to NY, USA in two weeks and we have no idea when we will see each other. Due to me staying for so long we have to wait at least a year until I'm allowed back into the country. It's never easy, but when you are together again you remember why all the hard parts are worth it. You're not alone
Hi Immy, I really love you and this video! I appreciate how you show your vulnerable side, it's something I've been trying to do more as well. Good luck with your therapy sessions, so important to get the help you (and all of us) need!
I love Faith in Nature shower gels, especially the citrus one. I bought the dragon fruit handwash recently for my carer to use (I use a bar soap but it's less contamination for her to use liquid soap) and the smell is delicious. Also, I'm not a vegetarian and I love fish but not sushi. I'd be much more willing to try the sushi you made, than the regular kind. Plus you didn't add wasabi or chilli, which I can't tolerate. x
Feeling real sympathy with you . I think by the time I can see my boyfriend again it will have been about 18 months since I last saw him. Excellent to see a self care video that's not just candles and face masks... that's what makes you so relateable and watchable. I've also just read Braving The Wilderness - how are you finding it?
Hi AthynVixen, what did you think of “Braving The Wilderness”?. I’m really interested to learn more about this book. Thanks and have a great upcoming week 😃. PS - I’m empathetic for you and for Immy... LDR’s must be so difficult during this time. Wishing you comfort and strength to get through this hardship.
this was so incredibly calming. reminded me of appointments I need to make as well. also loved the last minute or so of videography & ASMR, you should do an entire video like that!
Sushi with smoked tofu, a workout in shorts (shorts rule over tights in my books), hair masks, “Temptation Bundling”, Ralphie + my favourite kitty on YT, coffee and a book... you’re crushing it girl!! Keep getting outside, and also taming those rebellious curls (love your hair anarchy). I’m keen to hear about “Braving The Wilderness” (Brene Brown) if ya feeling it. Thanks for this uplifting video during this non-sensible time. Lu and luv your vidz. 🌿💜🪀. PS - Thanks for linking the sushi videos. Gonna do it!!🍥
Okay, this was so inspiring... and so honest... thank youuuu! :))) Is it possible to do a low-environmental-impact Easter post? As Easter is coming up I would love to do my first vegan, zero-waste easter egg hunt with my family (who I'm living with) and thought maybe some other viewers might be thinking of their childhood Easter egg hunts too during this lockdown time. I don't at all expect you to actually post about this but your astonishingly creative low waste DIYs are just too satisfying to watch so thought I'd pop it in the comments. But more importantly, thanks for blessing us with this wonderful video :) xx
I really related to getting anxious to go outside...it’s crazy because it’s the one thing we can do atm 😂 thank you for sharing it helps to see that a lot of people seem to go through similar things.

Just a quick note about your cutting the sushi roll. It should be one full blade stroke down instead of sawing back and forth. that sawing motion will rip the nori making uneven cuts. Also don't use a bread knife. If you have a straight "cleaver" blade use that instead. I'm still waiting for vegan recipes that don't use soy, pasta, rice or other starchy components. I know its slower but it brings back that intimate feel when reading letters and such and they can be saved in a box for later reading.
