Super fun video today! Thanks for having us over! Enjoyed hanging out with you guys with the big Eastonmade fired up! 🔥💯👍. Always a fun day In The Woodyard! Take care Chris! Andrew from NB :)
Cant believe that Bert. Using a shorter log to hold that ridiculous long log in place.... Now theres an operators' operator! So good to see the processor running again. Makes my morning coffee so much better. Go well guys. Cheers from HB NZ
I found on my little electric saw if the blade is too tight it doesn't have the torque. Also lots of oil. Kenny from Western North Carolina. Love the videos!
When I had a govt. job, work fascinated me, I could set and stare at it all day. I had to leave because one day, I actually did something, and it made everyone else look bad.
Good morning Chris!!😀😀 Hopefully you have kicked the cold you have. I think I had the same one. It lasted a little over 2 weeks. Thankfully I didn't land in the hospital with it this time like I did last summer. That machine still just amazes me on how much power the splitter has. I have yet to see anything that has stopped it. Sure doesn't take very long with wood that size to make a trailer load. I really enjoy watching you guys running her. I wanted to be your weekend operator because I really enjoyed running it. But mother nature had other plans for me. Keep up the good work guys!! TTYL!!😀😀💚💚 Logger Al

Chris you have great videos, glad your THINK 🤔 SAFETY and always put SAFETY FIRST. BERT just buckin them up 🔝 with your 592XP and drop them in 22MB put them threw the 40 ton splitter Chris . 😊😊
Sharp tools of any kind are always much safer than dull tools. That principle applies to everything from steak knives to razor blades to drill bits to saw chains etc, etc, etc. It's good to see you maintain your tools and machines regularly.
Chris...You have 12 volt power available. I'd get a bus heater that comes with a 12 volt fan and run the coolant from the Kubota through it. That's what a lot of fishing boats use for heat and with the water going through it 190 degrees they put out a whole lot of BTUs.
Even when you have to coax it through, that machine really makes a lot of wood fast. I'll be interested to see your heater setup. Another idea would be to get a heater core from an old tractor or combine and run some plumbing from the engine. But maybe you don't want to modify Andrew's machine that much 😉 Nice job!
Saw a video clip a few seconds long. Looks like you have a firewood buclet on loan to use! Can't wait to hear how well it works for you in the woodyard. Going to work longer hours at my job to buy more woodyard toys while the work is available. Then take a week off here and there to work on firewood and relax. Sort of like you working photography and your woodyard hard so you can go on hunting trips. Gotta work hard somewhere, somehow, to get the nice toys.

I’m glad Adam and Burt are wise around machines! Makes me cringe if something went wrong… I’ve had to explain this to my son when we were throwing wood back In to my mates machine! Good onya guys
I have a question for you, instead of using pallets for your sides of the bins what if you used ibc totes sense you have access to them. that way you can remove the sides easier you wouldn’t have tie wire in the bins and when you get some wood emptied out you could just pick them up and dump them directly into the trailer when you get to that point hopefully all that makes sense???
Yup, we have talked about it but I am not a fan of IBC totes, we have tried a few things but it is not a time saver for me...maybe some day we will try it.
Good spot to put the ULTRA at the beginning of the conveyor do resplits there that way when the wood hits the trailer its done ready for the bin.when you have help
Yup, it is a good idea but it is higher than you think so it would mean a lot of lifting high and like Bert said, when we are running good on big wood...3-4 guys would have a hard time keeping up using 2-3 Ultras.
Had some pallet wood logging done on my property this summer and I've been going through and cutting up and splitting the tops and crooked stuff. Lots and lots of honey locust. As you said, great wood but it's so hard I'm resharpening probably 30% more often. Looks like you need to be an octopus to run that processor!
Maybe use a pole saw to finish the cuts where the cutting bar doesn't go all the way through so you can stay back at a safer distance with better footing?
This time of year, after a good freeze, when it thaws, it is a muddy mess. I feel for you. Those long logs are hard to get to the processor, but they make a lot of wood when you get them there. That looks like some really nice wood.
I like the 8way wedge. Eastonmade has a new wedge available for their processors that you should give a try. It will give you smaller splits with what looks like alot less debris.

This splitter can process a lot of wood, but I feel like it doesn't process the wood as well as the little splitter that you guys use. This seems to make a lot of kindling wood and then some really big chunks that need to be processed again.
How do you handle the splits that are too big that go up the ramp from the processor. Do you just set them aside as you throw them in the pile. I noticed some of the bigger logs leave big splits on the top.

How do you handle the splits that are too big that go up the ramp from the processor. Do you just set them aside as you throw them in the pile. I noticed some of the bigger logs leave big splits on the top.
We toss some back in the splitting chamber but most just go up the elevator and in the trailer and get resplit later.

I think it was steam, it happened on a few others too. As things heat up cutting through frozen wood that happens sometimes.

I was thinking have someone with your splitter at the end as they come out split it then, then toss up the belt, but only in a perfect world 😎.

When the ground starts to firm up might have to use a land plane to remove the ruts.🤔
back blading will do just fine.
