I got a text yesterday from a friend. "Come grab this firewood laying all over my yard". I drove by and looked, all cut and split, and at least 2 cord!
The entertainment and educational value of this video was superb. We were setting around and drinking a few adult beverages and playing name that specie. Have a great day.
Chris you do such a great job explaining what wood your working with all the time. I learn every day watching your channel. Yes I've watched every single one. Thanks, and yes I hit like and share
Glad you got the check Chris. Not as much as we would have liked but we have outlived our retirement, and this inflation is killing us. We will get another out soon. My wife doesn't care for the videos I watch but she comes down when you put up videos of the cats. We have 2 cats now, one 7 and one 21. We lost 2 a few years ago a week apart, one was 35 and the other 25. They went to sleep during the night and we found them curled up in the morning. Our pets live better than most people. I start every day with your video.
A day late but great video. Gavin and Bert look happy in the warm sunshine. Kittens are funny with the canned food. They play shuffleboard in the barn.
Hey Chris! Love your content and your channel! Best firewood on UA-cam. Glad to hear the cats are being taken care of and going to get fixed. I know you get lots of you should do this and that. Forgive me if this comes across as that. I’m a consumer of firewood and I love to cut and split it. I notice you split a lot of the big quarters into tall and narrow “slabs”. I have a big firebox in my fireplace. I would not want to buy nor burn those thinner slabs (unless I had to). Again, I’m offering a consumer perspective and not telling you what to do.😊Keep the great content coming! Take care!
Thanks for watching Howard! Yup, I get it, I have a hard time keeping everyone happy.I used to make BIG firewood chunks and had a lot of customer complaints so I went smaller and my business boomed, fast, most people I sell to have small modern high efficiency fireplaces and 9 out of 10 times they tell me smaller pieces so that is what I make most of the time.
Thank you for the shout out. The inspiration for the sticker comes from the great Rat Fink illustrator Ed Roth. You hit the nail on the head when you described it as a Mad Man. 😂. Enjoy The Journey - Cheers
Is it pronounced like Chris was saying " Bot-a Bob" or is it supposed to be the last half of Kubota and spoken "Bow-ta Bob"??? Awesome sticker either way!!
Awesome vid today Chris! Always enjoy the ultra splitting vids! Nice job! 🔥💯👍. Some pretty fun piece busting through the wedge there at times!! See you tomorrow! Andrew from NB :)
Sounds like a great day to get outside and get some stuff done with no one around to bother you, tomorrow is not guaranteed to anyone. A sunny day is a good day to take off and enjoy the outdoors, I am strange that way.
? Sometimes it looks like some of the slabs that are coming off the rounds you are splitting could be split again or is the way the camera is set up just my on look ?
Chris, do you ever get any black locust? We have a friend with acres who had a patch of black locust trees. They got too big and messed up his Direct Tv. So we took them down and hauled them out. It seems like that stuff burns better than oak. Easy to light, burns hot, clean, happy wood stove, only setback, it is very stringy when splitting.
Black locust is as good as it gets in the Midwest for burning. I have a bunch to burn this winter and next from a huge stash that my uncles neighbor had taken down.
I've successfully sold a 50-50 mix of basswood and oak with good results, zero complaints. By itself, basswood sucks. Have to mix basswood with anything other than willow, poplar, and cottonwood to get a good fire.
I have recently put an order in for an ultra just curious I see you sometimes run the four way and now you are running the single wedge and I’m just curious what is your determining factor which wedge to use?
Chris uses the single wedge to resplit wood off the processor.anf for knotty wood. I do the same, and I ha e a 28 ton splitter. Even with 28 toms, twice what the Ultra produces, the 4-way wedge can get a round stucl on it if not careful with the knots.
Chris you are a beast. I love splitting wood. After about a cord I am pooped. Man you make it look easy but we know it’s good ole fashioned back breaking work lol.
Bota Bob is a good guy. Chat with him on the phone once in a while. Got a bunch of green wood cut, but need to get a bunch of dry ash cut and split to sell! And I've got a lot of dry ash logs!
First table splitter I've seen. My friend had a horizontal splitter with a V channel for the log. And another had one that you tilt up vertical. At an event at the fairgrounds a guy had a trailer with a log deck, buzzsaw with a log stop, a four way splitter, and a loading belt. All he did was load the deck, the rest was automatic. Damdest thing I ever saw.
Nice splitting Chris. Single wedge would be the only way for me. Noodle rounds and twisted, knotty stuff can be salvaged that way. Your setup looks very efficient. Nice to see that cat food rodeo. GNI
It's a 2 pot day in the Woodyard tday!! 30°F and Frosty here in Ashville Ohio this morning folks... Highs in the low 40's the weather Guessers say... Have a great Day!!
Wolfe Ridge can plumb their double-pump SHO and HDI models to run a conveyor off of the splitter hydraulics and not affect the power of the splitting cylinder.
See your making bigger firewood pcs .. are getting away from making split ? The EASTONMADE still put out firewood 🪵 at super speed . 😊 pizza firewood 🪵 is gold top $$$ .
I got a text yesterday from a friend. "Come grab this firewood laying all over my yard". I drove by and looked, all cut and split, and at least 2 cord!
Sounds like the best kinda friend! Score!!🪵🪵
Nice! I send this txt to my brother at least once a car a year. I don’t sell wood, but love to give it away if it’s more than I can burn!
Nice, now you just need more friends like that!
Very nice!
Does he need more friends🤣
Great video!! Thank you for labeling the type of wood you are splitting, it helps us learn our species. I love that ultra.
Thanks for watching!
The entertainment and educational value of this video was superb. We were setting around and drinking a few adult beverages and playing name that specie. Have a great day.
Thanks so much, have one for me!

Another good day of splitting. Man you’ve had that sticker so long I forgot I gave it to you🤣 Thanks for the mention Sir Chris👍🏻👍🏻GNI
Sorry about that, that was the first mistake I ever made...that day.
@@InTheWoodyard No worries! I actually didn’t even remember giving you one🤣 I must’ve gave it to you at the HFH

Thanks so much James...35 is REALLY old for a cat!!! Heck, 25 is old!!!
A day late but great video. Gavin and Bert look happy in the warm sunshine.
Kittens are funny with the canned food. They play shuffleboard in the barn.
Yup, the cats really go nuts for the caned food you send, I go once in a while to get an extra case because they go nuts for it!
Chris, Another great video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Coffee in the woodyard makes mornings great! hope everyone has a great day!
Thanks!!
Thanks Chris I love the lil longer split videos, gets me ready before going in my yard, thanks I appreciate it
Good to hear, I made it just for you!
Lol ha ha oh I know,it was all mine.lol
Nice weather today for working outside. 😁👍
Yes it was!!!

Appreciate it my good man!
Good Morning Chris and all you in the wood yard. It is raining and changing to all snow. Yuck windy a day to stay in and burn that wood 🔥🪵❄️❄️❄️😊🎄🦌
Yup, most of this wood is already dry as I am splitting it so I am leaving some bigger, they will be smaller on the next splitting day.
Some nice looking shingles you made there. Should save them and build a splitter canopy.😂
That is a great idea!
“What do you have to say?”
“There’s a lot of wood in their” 😂😂😂😂😂
Yup!
Do you think you will have to clean out the bottom pallets with all the bark and chips after emptying the big wood bins?
Eventually maybe after a 2-3 years but there is not much in thee because it is pretty clean wood going in.
Congrats on reaching 50,000!
Thank you!
Good round of splitting Chris . It was very kind of people to help with the cats. Keep on cutting
Thanks 👍

It seems like that stuff burns better than oak. Easy to light, burns hot, clean, happy wood stove, only setback, it is very stringy when splitting.
Yes but not much lately, and yes it is better than oak, burns slower and hotter with more BTUs. Most people do not know that! Great wood!
Black locust is as good as it gets in the Midwest for burning. I have a bunch to burn this winter and next from a huge stash that my uncles neighbor had taken down.
Another Great splitting day!! Like the play by play of what wood is which!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Thanks, yes I need to make another video showing the kinds of wood and talking about them, it has been over a year since the last one.
Can you do a Moisture test on a piece of that fresh cut.
Tree and is there a different out come from small branches way up vs at stump
Yes I sure could some time. On a dead tree the tops will be much drier.
Is basswood about the same quality as poplar or willow?
I've successfully sold a 50-50 mix of basswood and oak with good results, zero complaints. By itself, basswood sucks. Have to mix basswood with anything other than willow, poplar, and cottonwood to get a good fire.
Yes fast burning with low BTUs, but it does burn, good campfire wood.
I've said it before, you are the GOAT
Thanks Don, my wife says that some times I smell like a goat.
Good morning all!
Hello Kurt!
Good morning my fellow Woody's ..Hi Chris!!
Hello there!!!
I have recently put an order in for an ultra just curious I see you sometimes run the four way and now you are running the single wedge and I’m just curious what is your determining factor which wedge to use?

The 4 way is faster but doesn't do as well in knots.
yup!

G’morning Chris. Nice to see the support fer da kittays. Sweet action doing the split ! You got a new helmet ? GoodNightIrene
Morning! No old helmet with no face screen, couldn't find my ear muffs!

Bota Bob is a good guy. Chat with him on the phone once in a while. Got a bunch of green wood cut, but need to get a bunch of dry ash cut and split to sell! And I've got a lot of dry ash logs!
Yup, get cuttin'!
Have you ever sold cottonwood?
Yup, in mixed hardwood for campfire wood but not a lot of it at a time with a load.
The only thing that feels better then a 60 degree day in November is a 45 degree day in February!!🌞🌞
Yes, when it starts to turn back it is awesome to be warm again.
I've had enough of the trial version of winter. I do not wish, nor desire, to purchase the full version.
Bet you would like if everything split like soft maple?
Especially the ELM!!
First table splitter I've seen. My friend had a horizontal splitter with a V channel for the log. And another had one that you tilt up vertical. You might want to check out a few other videos on my channel there a lot of other machines on there that process firewood. Thanks John!
Nice splitting job, cute cats
Yes, thanks!
Good morning, everyone.
Hello Brian!
Is that a fish tree (basswood)
You are loaded with them today!
The elm is hard to split. But it is great wood for heating. And the knotty pieces you made them very nice wood for sale.
Thanks 👍
Good Night Irene
Thanks!!!!
That must be an ed tree (soft maple) 😂😂😂
Another good one, I might use that some day in a video!
Nice splitting Chris. Single wedge would be the only way for me. Noodle rounds and twisted, knotty stuff can be salvaged that way. Your setup looks very efficient. Nice to see that cat food rodeo. GNI
Thanks, yup the nasty wood can be converted with the single wedge.
Thats Pronounced BOATA BOB as in Kubota HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Good guys!
Looks like feeding time for outside cats at my house. Basically 7 all age mix like yours. Do see an outsider at the buffet occasionally
Yup, they like to eat!
You definitely got the kid trained!!😂👍👍
Yup!
I was excited when I saw a 48 minute video. Would it have been 24 minutes if you had the 4 way on?😎
No, not with all of the nasty knotty tree service wood.
Cats means no mice or rats and it seems there are alway plenty around wood piles . So they are of good service .
Yup, but we do not have rats here, -20 to -30 for weeks keep them away with most snakes, termites and hurricanes!
blessing's
Thanks!
Thank you to Sharon & James for money to feed cats and kittens.
Glad to hear that some cats have been rehomed❤
Yup, good stuff!
It would be useful if the splitter had a slightly bigger engine and a generator to run things like a conveyor, as an option
okay
Wolfe Ridge can plumb their double-pump SHO and HDI models to run a conveyor off of the splitter hydraulics and not affect the power of the splitting cylinder.
👍👍👍
Thanks!!!
Cute little furballs!!
My wife's uncle and aunt have 9 farm cats that are semi tame and ravenous! They attack their food and disappear.

As long as those trees dont get cut on wednesday (ash) tree 😂😂

Hey Chris. Make sure that little kitten gets to eat. He was aced out entirely tonight by the orher cats. Just sayin'.
