Thanks so much for this. I have a Geissele SD 14.5 upper and its awesome, but I have seen companies with these Godlike complexes fail and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, so long as the community/ industry learns from said failures

I have one, I like it, but I never use the 1x. I use an offset red dot and have it set at 3x and then push it to 6x. I like the glass clarity and how little of the scope body you see. Anyways cheers! Your content is 🔥.

Glad to see you got your hands on a BRN-180, I love mine!
The LPVO bug never got me, to each their own. Standard red dot with magnifier works fine for anything I needed overseas and state side.
I just use my TR24 like it's still 2009. Makes hits to 400, dual illumination works great in the desert, and it's (relatively) light. Works for me.

It's about time someone did a review on this.
Here's my rub...
I had 2. I got the first one shortly after shot with a 60% deal from Geissele. That one, the mag adjustment is super tight, like, I have to muscle it over. It's bright as hell, and the 1x is good.
The second one I got from work. The mag dial was awesome, the 1x sucked and opposed to the first one that had a red dot, this one had a crusader cross looking illumination. Like, it lit up the entire center of the reticle. I called G about that and the CS rep didn't know what I was talking about, and I guess niether did the "experts". I ended up selling that one to a buddy who let some professional end users run it. They actually loved it and wondered why G didn't put in the bid for a contract. Well, we found out why... The scope is not waterproof. I'm not talking about a multi-meter dip in the drink. I'm talking about a light drizzle at a 3-gun match. But then, I found out the one I kept was waterproof... Strange fruit for sure. The recent run of them have a little more consistency going for them. G let us try their 6.5 and 308 rigs outfitted with their scope and they held up, all of those were waterproof, but none of them had the crusader cross illumination, and about half of them had the tight mag dial.
I guess when the bayonet lug went into production, the QC for the scopes went down... G has a habit of doing that sometimes.
A few stores in my area carried them but they never sold. Especially because all those stores honored the Vortex SOF discount so we were getting Razors for less than the G scope, not a hard path to pick in comparison.

Thanks for making me aware of a LPVO I didn’t know existed. It’s like Hops classic forgotten optics with none of the nostalgia.
Any idea who the OEM was for it or did Geissele actually make these.

Just got the new PA 1-6 lpvo with the nova reticle (obviously named after our lord and savior, your dog). It's actually pretty cool, all things considered. The dot is daylight bright at setting 6, and the clarity is definitely noticeably better than the previous gen 3 models. Fov is also great at 1x, pretty flat image, not perfect tho. Not bad for sub $400. Hope to hear your thoughts on it soon. Love ya and yo dawg. 👌
yeah I have one, reviewing it right now. PA messed up and just sent me 4 mounts instead of hte optic.

I have an old burris 2-10x and have felt that a lot of 1x variable optics appear almost the same on 1x as my burris on 2x. Thanks for the review.

Do you wear contacts or glasses/ have an un diagnosed vision issueI? I’ve noticed that you’ve stated several times on different optics that they are blurry but 98% of the others with these items state otherwise lol. I don’t own this optic and don’t plan to but got to use one for a couple months and the glass at all magnification levels was extremely clear, just like Japanese glass is known for (LOW) as we all understand.
The lpvo is not horrible. I will admit at the original price point ($1400) I would much rather go get a razor or a khales. Although I was able to snag one for $400 during a BF sale and I will say it’s a solid scope with great clarity and reliability. It’s made in the same factory as razors. If you are able to look past the wonky 1x then it’s a fine scope
It’s on sale for almost half off right now…….. Seriously has me considering it at that price point

I used to work for ar15discounts and we had 2 of these on the shelf, a black and ddc version. No one ever bought it!😂😂😂

A guy I work with bought a Glock 19x solely because it was FDE. Same thing with a Hellcat. He actually changed his EDC because of it, I don't get it at all. With that being said: OD green 4 lyfe.
I've got 3 of these. One of them has poor 1x collimation for my eyes. The other 2 are really good.
I gotta say, I love my Geissele Super Duty 14.5 upper. It's pretty damn good lol
And only $850 on black Friday, was cheaper than a BCM+Surefire muzzle device so I snatched it up
Should hear my teddy bear when we get home. He usually goes everywhere with me and the rest of us. He jumps to see out the door barking and squealing. And does stop until he feels he's gotten enough attention for the amount of time he was alone. It's quite a sight. Usually he's always with me or us tho.

Video idea for you:
Setting up a gaurd post and gaurd sops. This is actuly something that is way deeper than people realize and something this will probably more common than we think in a shtf situation. A couple guys on rotating shifts at the end of your street will keep alot of people alive.
I have a video on recon first that touches on this already done, and the downsides of guards. And I'll have a video called "community defense" where I discussed the requirements of this and more
Back from the Geissele RDS review. Can't wait for when it turns out that Geissele sourced out the manufacturing to the same OEM as some cheaper brand.
It’s not worth the $. The old vortex pst GEN2 1-6 is a better value IMHO?

I still can't find a better LPVO than the PST II 1-6. Stupid simple reticle. Stupid simple design. Yes, it's heavy, but I go to the gym. I'm willing to put up with the weight.
Turn the lume on, and it just makes a dot. No fancy, overly complicated Christmas decoration. No weird shapes. Just a dot.
Which is especially nice for me because I'm running 6.8 spc, so I don't have to adapt a weird ranging for a bdc.
And, in my opinion, if you need more than 6x magnification, you need more than 1x as well. Step up to 2x10, or a 4x16. And it stops becoming a gpr, too. But different topic.

Awesome LPVO. Got the k18i 1-8x24 3gr instead of the NF. It’s on my 14.5” SR15 with a t2 mounted at 12:00 for nv. Love it so far.
@@tomharper8351 That's the exact build I was thinking of doing lol. Might go with the k16i instead since I'm not sure how much I'd want 8x on a SFP scope. How's the 1x and eyebox?
I loved it. Super clear and lightweight. Now the downsides- a long boy and no nv settings, it’s too bright to use at the lowest setting which sucks under nods. Means you can’t use it.
Would it be possible for you to do a review on the swampfox arrowhead you do really great reviews and would like to see your input and opinion on it.
Brass facts; hast thou ever used the burris mtac 1-4, preferably with the CQB reticle? I would like a second opinion on how it compares to the trijicon 1-4 accupoint as the red-dot-analogue LPVO, mostly in terms of eyebox.
Having handled both the Trijicon has a better eyebox. Especially the 1-4

which I find hilarious because this optic is 3 years old.
Bro I bought one a long time ago and later realized that when I turn the illumination on when it’s dark outside, the entire glass gets a red tint to it. Im talking a VERY noticeable red tint. To the point all you see is illumination. It’s absolutely terrible lol the glass quality is decent and it’s fine to shoot without illumination but this should not have been priced at a grand.
Having a Marquee brand doesn't always translate to a good product. Great review and analysis.

Like Gunthots said, for the price, Geezel is a Cope and Seethe tier brand
For the same price I can get a Vortex PST G2 2-10x32 in a Larue LT-104, shipped, and then put an offset RDO next to it. That G on the side isn't worth it in this case.

The Glock 19X is the best shooting 9mm Glock that there is. You’re probably right… people buy it because it’s tan. But when they shoot it, the color becomes irrelevant. It really is far better than the other 9mm Glocks.
This is probably a bit of a hot take but I really think Geissle is kind of over rated. They aren't bad, I just feel like a lot of their offerings are not that competitive anymore compared to when they first got started.

Technically scopes bend light, so the Geissele scope should've been excellent.

@@BrassFacts I don't doubt it man. This is my fault because I'm asking an LPVO to do rifle scope things. But the current 2-10 marketplace is underwhelming too. My NF 2.5-10 has an Achilles heel (exposed / non-locking windage turret), but its 20oz, has parallax, and a ranging tree which I want. Your review is spot on. Its a great optic. I was really hoping for better top end performance since this is for my 16". Totally on me and I know that. Appreciate your reviews.

I mean I love my sig 1-10x28. It gives you a much better shot picture at 200 yards. I mean i honestly don't believe lpvo's are supposed to go out 500 yards . Even though i can use it to shoot that far i prefer a larger optic making those long shots.
