HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 traumatized me... - Фільми й анімація
Third one? Yes or no?
definitely yes
YES PLEASE!
Yes
Yes!!!!!

When Stoick tells his wife "You are as beutiful as the day I lost you" breaks me every time
same i think we all need a man like Stoic
crying every single damn time

Her name is valka
Yeah she was so scared to hear what he would say but he ended up softly speaking to her it was cute
Hiccup has a one parent limit.
that hurt and made me laugh at the same time

UNCALLED FOR GODDAMNNN
The writers revealed that Drago found the bewilderbeast when it was still an egg. He tortured it as a baby and use fear to control it.
Well that’s horrifying
@@Arezoo298195because drago bludvist is a madman, without conscience or mercy!
Yeah, just look at his weapon. In real life, its used to beat and 'train' elephants. Which coincidentally is one of the Bewilderbeasts inspirations. Lot of layers to such small details.
Oh wow!! I genuinely thought that the alpha dragons were alpha dragons because they were old af. Like they got so old that the other dragons just couldn't hold their own against them
@@Arezoo298195 he is the villain
The way Hiccup snapped at Toothless after he killed Stoick just shattered my heart
I mean nobody can blame him.. Imagine how heartbroken he was. But he immediately goes back to normal when drogo takes toothless
It is, but it's an expected response after what happened to his father. With how smart Hiccup is the moment was fast and he was back to normal in no time
Immediately reminded me of Airbud when Josh snapped at Buddy
Comment seems familiar 🤔 I posted the exact same thing word for word the moment I got the notification of the upcoming reaction. Oh well.
sameee, but it would have been really weird if he hadn't
Valka sums it up pretty well with, "Good dragons under the control of bad people". Oh and at 33:40, Drago basically lets Hiccup try and save Toothless because he's arrogant/confident enough that he just WON'T be able to.
exactly! hes like "yeah i wanna see him fail" and then thirty seconds later gets flung off the dragon
Right, he was overconfident that the Alpha's hold on Toothless would be strong enough that Hiccup wouldn't be able to break it. I love Drago's "how are you doing that?" during this moment, as he couldn't possibly understand how a person's bond with a dragon could be so strong, and it's almost like it was a bit of a wake-up call before he refuses to admit it and immediately goes back to his ways. He was planned to have this absolutely beautiful redemption arc in the third movie that was cut on time restraints, so I genuinely feel like this is the moment that he'd do the most reflection on.

Yea I think it's kinda same with how they "train" animal in some circus
I love the duality of the alpha dragon in the first film, having all the weaker dragons feeding it, whilst this alpha feeds the pack.
that wasn't an alpha/bewilderbeast in the first movie though.. it was a red death, the dragon queen
the way that Alex compares Stoicks death to his pizza was the best part
No spoilers . But the 3rd one will make you cry even more 😭. How to train your dragon 3 was the best way to end the trilogy
Nah fr after the third i got so sensitive that i even cried at frozen 2
1 and 3 are better than 2

Couldn’t get into the third one.
Just so you know...this isn't a trilogy...a 4th is being made
Not Alex relating his dog eating his pizza with Toothless killing Stoic BAAAHHAHHAAJAAJA i was crying then started laughing
im tearing up then alex goes on about his dog eating his pizza, im dying lmao
Literally the last thing I expected to come out of his mouth lol, though it’s Alex so I’m not sure why 😅
If you watch the Netflix series, Race to the Edge, you will love Stoick so much which makes his death in this movie hit so much harder.
I knowwwww 😢 i loveddd the series. All parts of it. Already watched it through twice!
Honestly Alex, you and your editor deserve so much more credit and recognition. Y’all’s content is the highlight of my day not to mention an amazingly positive way to end the day. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re making a lot of peoples days a whole lot better
One of my favorite comments ❤
Yes! The editors little comments add so much for me too! 😂 like when he called Stormfly, stirfry… I was so happy to see the editor was on my side 😂😂 love the dynamic even in the little notes! 😂
I love how he always wonders who would fuck with vikings on dragons when there's literally a six season show about people fucking with vikings on dragons
Dude yes, your beloved pet dragon killing your father against its will is EXACTLY like your dog eating your whole pizza. So cool how these kinds of movies can cause us to relive these traumatic experiences and recover from them through the power of storytelling.
13:06
For clarity and sanity's sake, breastplate covers the entite chest and back, as well as under the arms. They usually come in a front/back split in two pieces, but some from specific regions or craft are single pieces that are worn like a vest. The viking version consists of several metal plates over a leather tunic that segment together either as large plates or scales. This was uncommom as its bulky
also they probably melted her breastplate to combine it with other metals and then made two other helmets
You definitely need to watch the third one.
To dissappoint in the series?
The 2nd How to Train Your Dragon was probably one of my favorite movies ever... and I am 40 year old. The arcs of the characters, the story, the dragons, Hiccup's relationship with his girl and father... finding his mother and the war of dragons. There is no greater story plot in two movies except for Back to the Future 2 and Aliens. Greatest all time second movie of a trilogy ever.
This trilogy is arguably one of the greatest Animated Trilogies of all time. OF COURSE WATCH THE THIRD MOVIE
The third movie ruins it though
@@FireF1y644 How??
best animated trilogy for me
@@Nathalie_Loves_HanJisung_03 you sincerely asking this, really? It burns multiple established themes of the first two movies, erases a lot of character development... The forced ending introduces a lot of plot holes, world building is virtually non-existent in the third movie (we are expected to accept the illogical and unrealistic nonsence as is, without explanation, without reason, without questions while forgetting the first two movies and their ideas). This is to say very briefly.
Alex you got to watch the two animated series in the How To Train Your Dragon universe.
• Riders of Berk - it takes place shortly after the first movie and the gang training their dragons with other treats.
• Race to the Edge - also takes place before the second movie but some time has passed and new threats in unfamiliar areas.
Come on people, we need to upvote these comments! He should definitely react to the series!
I need someone to react to the series SOOOOO BADLY.
idk if he has enough time for that, he's already heading into another series
@@yabele3389 well exactly, he's already doing clone wars, so there is hope that he could do these ones when he's done with clone wars.
You missed defenders of berk
Fun fact: Valka was originally a villain for a short while due to it being closer to what happens in the books, there is a deleted scene that shows the alternate version
Another fun fact, Gobber is gay..... Weird isnt it?
Vallhalerama was never a villain lmao. Where’d they get that idea from?
@@milubrine1101 but is that an assumed fact or is it actually in the established canon of either the movies or books (or series)? I have only seen people claim it.
@@VinnesRC yep it is canon, in this movi he says wen stoick and valka get toghether, "thats why i never married,....that and one onther reason".
The reason is that he likes men. I liked the idea
@@clutchthecinnamonsergal8493 valka was not to be a villain, but the design that we see from valka now, was to be used as a villain, it could not be to valka, but is was for a villain
Fun Fact : it was gobber who was supposed to die but the writers felt it was not emotional enough and changed it to stoic
The thing I love most about the story of movie 1 and 2, is the character development of Stoic and Hiccup. In a way they very much mirrored eachother; Stoic in the first movie wouldn't listen to Hiccup, which nearly cost him Hiccup, as his wish for killing the dragons put Hiccup in a life threatening situation, meanwhile Hiccup needed to do something drastic to prove himself and get his father to listen to him.
In the second movie, Hiccup isn't listening to his father's warning of Draco, and gets himself put in an even more dangerous situation. So his father, because of the person he is and of his fear of losing Hiccup due to his mistake from the first movie, looses his life. Which Hiccup now has to live with and grow from.
I think its an amazing parallel.
I like all the editor's notes, it adds some extra commentary and comedy. Props to the editor 💜
When this notification popped up I thought it said “how to drain your dragon” and I think that means whatever Alex has that makes him the way he is has spread
It definitely has, because this was hard to read. Punctuation is useful, without it I just have to guess where it should to go: comprehension becomes trial and error.
@@FaZekiller-qe3uf or maybe you’re just bad at reading 🤔

The Hefner virus
Drago's "bad dragon" he rides acts like that and listens to him because he raised him from an egg. He ended up raising and training the dragon through fear with the staff that he holds throughout the movie. You can actually see a slight hesitation in his dragon's actions when Draco drops the staff at 31:26-31:37 and how he doesn't react immediately. Drago's dragon finally stopped listening to him once Toothless became the new Alpha of all of the dragons.
Also the dragons turn "bad" through the Alpha's mind control, that is very specific to the Bewilderbeast dragons or the other Alpha in control.
I would also recommend watching the third movie as well. The attention to detail is even more crazy then in the second one.
Thank you for reading and I hope you all have a good day!
Fun fact:
You keep saying it and it is true. Toothless‘s animations are inspired by cats. They wanted to make him as cute as possible and they thought That baby cats are the most cute living beings so That was the inspiration and the goal.
also interesting fact drago can control his alpha because he trained it from when it was a small baby using pain its the same way they used to train elephants the animal is smart enough to understand that if it sees the bullhook (the hook he waves around while shouting) and hears drago scream he better obey or there could be pain but the animal isn't smart enough to reassess the situation and that it is bigger then drago or the trainer so it simply just remembers i do as I'm told or hell use the hook to cause me great pain like when i was very small.
also i love the little details in this movie like how we see papa hiccup and drago fighting mirroring the alphas fighting and it also explains why mamma hiccup liked the alpha so much it was essentially a dragon version of her husband (a strong leader who protects his own, with the shape of a big beard). also that the alpha loses his horn arm mirroing that drago lost his left arm (same as how hiccup lost his leg on the same side as toothlesses tail fin)
Oh I didn't think of the alpha and Stoic's parallel before!
Would be so great to see you cover the 'Kung Fu Panda' trilogy, as well. Thanks so much. 🧡
Yes i think so too. I just rewatched that trilogy last week-end, felt as new and beautifull as the last time i've seen them years ago
YES
Especially since the 4th just came out depending on how far he spreads out the first three the fourth might be just dropping for home release
we're not gonna talk about the 4th one LMAO
There is no Kung Fu Panda 4.
A little note about Dragos alpha, he had found the alpha from before it was hatched and it was quite literally abused and scared into submission, it basically grew up knowing to fear and obey drago. So definitely not the dragons fault
Breastplates are just armor that goes across the torso so it makes sense how it can make a helmet
More like tit plates and hers matched their heads perfectly!
I really suggest u to watch the series cause they expand on the lore and dragons so much. Like a lot of dragon are really cool, and also the characters bonds
For an order of greatness, I actually think they're all on par with each other, each one tells a unique story and the story gets more mature as it progresses.

The 3rd movie will make you cry tears of sadness and joy
Also, if you watch the TV series Riders of Berk (2 seasons) and the most important series Race to the Edge (6 seasons) you will see when they meet Skullcrusher and other dragons, and at the end of the series how it ties into the 2nd movie.
You should watch Togo. It's a movie uncovering the truth about the 1925 Alaska run for serum. As everyone knows balto is ,,the hero,, who saved everyone. It's not true, Togo was the one who practically ran the entire distance till falling from exhaustion and was forgotten. It's a great, wholesome, inspiring and a little heart breaking movie about his whole story that deserves recognition, it's really amazing❤

the amount of tears and goosebumps alex is going to have for the third one, will be nuts.
the way the bewilderbeast look at volka is an incredible detail

I hate that this didn't make the edit, but at 5:50 when Astrid kissed Hiccup, she was grossed out because Toothless had just licked Hiccup and Hiccup never washed off the slimy saliva.
It is the most badass How To Train Your Dragon movie of all of them.
Light spoiler:
The blue glow on Toothless you see is later revealed in How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World to be his ability to generate lightning and move as quick as lightning.
Even the first movie described the Night Fury as the unholy offspring of lightning and death so it was set up since the beginning

You should watch Dragons: Race to the Edge before #3! Its set between movie #1 and this one. It shows them bonding with the dragons and learning how to fight with them, etc. It was really awesome and will give you a ton more context before watching #3.
YES YOU SHOULD TOTALLY WATCH THE 3rd ONE IF THS ONE BROKE YOUR HEART!!! YOUR HEART IS HOING TO SHADDER IN THE 3rd ONE
Yeah, how they butchered the characters, betrayed the themes of the first two movies... Really heartbreaking

Haven't heard that one before lmao
Bro the frkn music during Stoick's send off 28:45 is ao beautiful.
As visually beautiful as this movie is, Alex is going to lose his mind with the 3rd film - The Hidden World is a technical marvel of 3D animation and every single scene has so much detail, stunning dynamic lighting, and such realistic camera work that its literally awe-inspiring.
YES! Finally! I LOVE your "How to train your dragon" reactions! 😍❤
The random beef he has with the dreamworks logo is so funny😭
I love the editors notes on the top corner. Genuinely makes the vids 10 times better
So cool little fact and a spoiler from the series so avoid if you dont want to see it:
The second bewilderbeast that kills the first is actually the child of the one that died, in the series they try to protect the egg but fail.
Thats not right though. I remember they suceeded and the wingmaidens gave the egg to valka, so its valkas bewilderbeast.
I love these movies. If you felt like crying in this one wait for the next one. I cry every time I watch it.
Hiccup: Just watched his dad die
Alex five seconds later: "My dog ate my pizza"
8:14 "Are there such things as bad dragons?" Oh alex you sweet summer child you...
If you wanna own a Toothless the closest thing would be one of the figures from the accompanying toy lines for these movies. I was pretty young when the original film came out and I remember there being a figure of Toothless with a huge wingspan and a steam effect for his fire breath. Sadly never got one as a kid-
You should also watch the shows.
"Dragons: Race to the Edge", "Dragons: Riders of Berk", and "Dragons: Defenders of Berk"
Second movie is my favorite of the three
Toothless moved so much like a cat! I’d read a while ago that it’s because one of the animators has a black cat that behaves just like that
You will not be disappointed by the 3rd. This is one of the rare SOLID trilogies.
Order of greatness is 2, 1, 3. But in an overall sense, I think we all agree this is the best trilogy ever and there a no disappointing bits.
Except the entire third movie.
Toothless Alex is basically a horror villain.

"Oh you sweet summer child"
as for the third one ABSOLUTELY YES you should watch it. it is an incredible way to wrap up the trilogy imo, and if you loved this one you're going to love that one too
After the 3rd one . You have to watch the tv series " rise of berk", defender of berk and "race to the edge ", this is the correct order . You have to watch it like you are watching "clone wars" .
I would rank the films: 2,1,3 but don't get me wrong the third movie is still really good, just the weakest of the trilogy
Agreedddd
I think the last scene in the third movie makes it a first for me 😭🤌
pretty much my opinion as well. 2 is so f*cking good.
Though I still think the ending of the 3rd is the best, all things considered...
Same. 3rd movie is still phenomenal in it's own rights. But if I had to put it against the rest of the trilogy it comes 3rd
still my fav animated trilogy
It’s interesting watching someone who didn’t watch the series react to how the characters grew up.
I grew up watching these moves the second one came out when i was 7 and i can remember watching it so vividly( it traumatised me also). I have been obsessed with them my entire life so i am glad you like it. :)
Toothless is the best, and design is inspired by a black panther so your right about the cat like mannerisms.
12:53 Alex gasping in shock while being in-sync with the choir in the background is certainly a highlight
The animation in these movies is absolutely incredible. Each one introduced totally revolutionary techniques that have become industry standard, but were revolutionary at the time: the fire in particular was INSANELY advanced, but also things they did to Toothless's rig to make him move the way they do, things like the physics simulations for sand/dirt/snow, and various lighting and atmospheric techniques to make the flight scenes look as good as they do were all absolutely jaw-dropping. They're still incredibly impressive today, but when they came out? Nobody had even IMAGINED 3-d animated movies pulling off some of the things the HTTYD trilogy does.
"Is there such a thing as Bad Dragons?"
Editor missed such an easy lay-up there.
