I SEVERELY Underestimated HARRY POTTER - Фільми й анімація
in the book, Sirius admitted that he, Peter and James turned themselves into Animagus to show Remus that they truly cared about him as their best friend and didn't want him to feel the need to hide being a werewolf. That's a good friend if I've ever seen one.
Makes sense that Sirius turned into a dog, since both he and dogs are extremely loyal
well except one of them
@@thinkingsoutherner9911 that and makes sense as the name Sirius comes from the Dog Star in the Canis Major constellation which was a tradition of naming kids in the Black family.
@@obiwanmartyn Oh, right. Regulus is also a star or constellation, right?
@@obiwanmartyn Not to mention the other two’s Animagus forms make sense based on their personalities. James turned into a stag due to him being a headstrong, courageous and stubborn leader. Peter turned into a rat due to him being a cowardly, conniving, sniveling wretch
Yes, Sirius escaped from Azkaban by turning into a dog. Also, that floating Lollipop was Harry under his cloak
Yeah, to expand on this, all Animaguses have to register themselves or keep their abilities a secret as they will be arrested to being unregistered. Because Sirius and the others became Animaguses when they were troublemaking teens in school, they never registered. This is why the prison was unaware he could change, as they would have taken steps to stop him if they had known.
Which floating lollipop?
@@galeb95std when Harry took Neville's lollipop while under the cloak.( If I remember, it was Neville's, I'm to lazy to rewind).
@Kakashi Hatake I read somewhere that rather than Harry taking the lollipop, which was quite out of character for him, the lollipop actually got stuck to Harry's cloak as he passed Neville.
@@Soy_boi It's a bit moronic if you think about it, why would the unlawful or evil register that they are an Animagus, you would think it is better to assume that they can?
Tom Felton gave Emma Watson permission to hit him for real, thinking he was going to get what he called "a movie slap" not expecting she was going for a full-on punch. Lololol 😅😅😅
Even more fantastic when you find out that they apparently both fancied eachother at the time haha
Actually, It was accidental
Looking back at Ron’s reading of the tea cup, Harry did suffer through the movie, and he Was happy about it at the end lol
Yeah I didn't even notice that LOL😂😂😂
They should make a prequel movie or something, I'd definitely pay to watch it on the big screen. All 4 being best freidns before everything went wrong. Specifically the 3 since Peter was a cowardly rat.
Actually in the books Ron is pretty good in divination, in the 4th book he makes some predictions for the school year and even though he was just making everything up without really trying at the end he was right
That reading also applies to the ending of the books/movies as a whole xD
Throughout The Goblet of Fire book Ron and Harry are making up predictions and dreams to turn into Divination for homework. Hermione quit Divination during this book after Trelawney insulted her. By the end of Goblet of Fire all of Ron and Harry’s made up homework for Trelawney comes true in one way or another.
In the book, it's really sad. Harry has the pure power to do a Patronus without issue. He holds back because a little part of him just wants to hear his mom's voice, even if it's her final screams.
🥺😭😭
Very sad! 🥺😢✨
I comment this in almost every video of this but the scene where Harry is in the past at the lake and hes waitinf for his dad to show up and save him then the second he realizes its him and his face changes is so sad to me ):
Lifelong Potter fan and I've read the movies 50x and watched the books a million, and have been reading pottermore and watching HP videos for years and this is the first time I've heard this insight. Never knew that before, thanks for the comment.
Man I'd forgotten about that. I need to reread the books I guess
I love 39:55, Snape is always so pissed off at Harry, but the moment he saw there was a danger to the students he covered them putting himself on the line.
Which never happened in the books. I like movie Snape but the book Snape is the worst.
@@elifbilgin237 No objections here >_
@@elifbilgin237 I love Alan Rickman. But I wish the movie people knew that book Snape was still pretty evil.
@@ghanjagang3682 I think book Snape mostly shows you don't have to be a good person or even a decent person to still make the right decisions in the end. he's not even a decent person but, he is for all his faults still capable of love, affection and loyalty.
@@TGPDrunknHick Look let's be honest here. Snape only made those "right decisions" after a long time of immoral activity. He only left the Death Eaters and went to Dumbledore in the first place because he found out Lily was the subject of the prophecy (he himself happily turned over to Voldemort). Every good choice he makes from then on is through Dumbledore and his "love" (obsession) for Lily. So I guess you are right when you mention love, affection, and loyalty. Unfortunately just the perverted versions of each when it comes to Snape.
I'm convinced that when Hermione saw herself, she instantly made the time turner connection and simply thought "welp, i'm probably there for good reason, no sense thinking about it further or saying anything to the boys"
Remus Lupin is my all-time favorite harry potter character. Especially after going through the books. Man's whole ass life is a tragedy, but he's still so kind and has so much hope for all of the students. His wand was the first replica wand I got
We need Keanu Reeves to play him in the remake they’re doing. It’s perfect casting
@@mcpudd1540Hell yeah
Thank you for the much needed Lupin appreciation ❤🩹 there was just always something about him for me, and I'm so happy to see that he is special to others too!
What about the 7th book when he was sn asshole for a day 😂
That's so true that tho I cried a lot over other's death, his was def the most hurtful one for me. I remember getting really mad t JK because of it.
"You're not allowed to use magic outside of school..."
"Yeah, try me!"
Harry finally standing up to the dursleys may be one of my favourite moments of the whole series.
Yeah, but that kinda makes the opening scene of this movie kinda out of place unless I'm missing something. He's actually using magic outside of school. I never did get why they put that in.
@Wheresatari I know what you mean. If I'm correct, (I haven't read the books in a few years) in the book he does study under the blanket at night, but I think they only showed him doing magic for the opening sequence and comedic reasons... but it does cancel that out a few minutes later, so who knows...?
@@wheresatari668 the director, Alfonso Cuarón, answered that question, that scene is just a symbol of Harry entering puberty 😅
except he already used magic in the first seconds of the film trying to read schoolbooks so the tension iss kindaa lost....
I think in the books the Dursleys also locked his school stuff away so he would have to carefully steal some of it to do his homework at night but I don't remember if that happened in all books
Back in the day, when Voldemort was at the apex of his power, if you said his name his henchmen would come for you. That's why people are still afraid to say his name, it's almost like a jinx of bad luck/misfortune.
Very true it’s called a taboo charm and it would alert the dark wizards to the location of the person who said it
Wait I remember this only happening in the seventh book. Not back in the day
@@nonyadamnbusiness4586 Same. I don't think that's right. But then again, maybe the taboo existed back then as well but people weren't alive to tell the tale i.e. people didn't know
@@nonyadamnbusiness4586 im prety sure it wasnt confirmed, but because all older wizards are so afraid of saying the name and because we know voldemortput a taboo charm in place as soon as he was openly in power again in sixth year, people put them together and assumed thats also what he did the first time
Wrong!!!! It was enchanted only at the seventh book
You picked up on the same thing that always creeped me out about the Peter Pettigrew/Scabbers reveal: the rat was EVERYWHERE around the Weasleys' house for 12 years and saw everybody doing everything.
Creepy.
yeah biggest plothole in HP movies imo :D
How
Why didn't the twin Weasleys ask why Peter Pedigrew was in Ron's bedroom since that's how he would have appeared on the map? Weird family secrets....
@@wikkedspindlHe never showed up on the map in the books only in the movies. Its a plothole for the films not the books.
@@wikkedspindl They used the map to see in the coast was clear for their nocturnal shenanigans. They never had reason to look at the dormitories when they did so - there wasn't anything to be worried about in the bedrooms, and the common room opens directly into the rest of the castle.
They didn’t explain the Patronus thoroughly in the movie. Early on, Harry was still struggling with the spell, so he made an incorporeal Patronus. It’s basically just a cloud of mist that can hold off the Dementors for a while. When you can really perform the Patronus Charm, it takes the form of an animal that suits the caster. Harry and his dad both had a stag Patronus, giving it a meaningful connection between them.
The exposition was so poorly done in this movie I think people only like it because of the aesthetics.
Actually, Harry has a stag patronus because James was an Animagus just like Sirius, and he was a stag 😉
There's a funny little detail that I think is mentioned in the book but omitted in the movie. Remus Lupin (Moony), Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail), Sirius Black (Padfoot) and James Potter (Prongs) were the ones who created the Marauder's Map. Lupin is a werewolf and the other three are/were all animagus.
that’s a huge detail they left out
This might be my biggest annoyance about what they left out, out of all the films (well, and SPEW). Movie watchers have no idea about the backstory of the marauders
It's an integral part of the story, no idea why they left it out.
I still don’t understand how they left put such a big detail.
It’s weird how they left it out… everything was already set up for them it wouldn’t have taken long, plus in the later movies they call Sirius padfoot sometimes and call Peter wormtail. So they still use those nicknames
Ron has the rat since their first year. He was trying to turn the rat yellow in the train the first time they went to Hogwarts.
Lupin was NOT in love with Lily, her and James were his friends. Lupin, James, Sirius and Peter were best friends since their first year at Hogwarts. They were the ones that made the marauders map.
The names in the map are their nicknames, they were based on the animals they turn into.
Moony= Remus Lupin ( because he is a werewolf, so moon... moony)
Wormtail= Peter Pettigrew ( rats have "worm-like" tails)
Padfoot= Sirius Black (Padfoot because of dog's little paws, they're soft underneath)
Prongs= James Potter (he turns into a stag. )
When the three friends find out Lupin was a werewolf decided that each of them would become animagus (people that turn into animals, like professor Mcgonagall that turns into a cat) to be with him during the full moon.
Werewolves usually don't attack animals, only humans. So if they turn into animals Lupin wouldn't be dangerous for them. That way, they could keep him company without being killed or scratched/ bitten.
In the HP universe if a werewolf bites or scratches you in their *wolf* form, you turn into one of them. If they bite or scratch you in their *human* form you get a few symptoms like taste for raw meat and a few weird habits but you don't turn into one.
Your patronus can take the shape of an animal, that's why he saw a stag. He has the same patronus as his dad, by the way.
I'm not sure if everyone has the same animal as their patronus AND their animagus form.... but Lupin, James, Sirius and Mcgonagall do.
Tbf, as much as it's absolutely not canon that Lupin and Lily were ever a thing (or even if he secretly had feelings for her), the way Lupin delivers those lines in the movie HAS made a lot of viewers fill in the blanks that he was reminising about her romantically.
I'll admit I even questioned where the film was going the way he said "Oh yes... I knew her...". In fact, the amount of dialogue he gives for Lily OVER James - despite him being James' other closest friend - is a bit out of character if you're familiar with Lupin in the books.
As to why they decided to lean in on Lupin's connection to Lily (which, let's be honest, isn't even really apparent in the books, I can't really recall an instance where the dynamic between the two isn't more than 'James' friend and James' wife therefore friends by association'), I can only guess it's because they felt that all the attention this book/film is really on James.
He's one of the Mauruaders, it's his trio of friends that are central to the story, and it's the ghost/thought of him that ultimately resolves the story. Lily is kinda side-lined. In fact, she is kinda side-lined throughout a lot of the series. Her major contributions thus far being the horrible nature of her sister's family, and the fact it's her love for Harry that protected him as an infant against Voldemort.
Lily doesn't get a lot of characterization until later in the series, so the filmmakers may have sought to utilise a bit of creative liberty in giving her a bit more of a connection to Lupin, if they knew that Sirius, in turn, would give Harry some more background on how James was in his youth. That way, Harry gets a bit of context and understanding of both his parents as people, rather than it mainly being about James like it is in the book.
The animagus can be diffrent from the patronus because tonks patronus changes when she is rejected by Lupin in the 6th book
@@SteadFast411 But Lily gets her turn later. This one, they skipped the ONLY info we get about James. Why? This is a decision that made no sense, and completely skewed the relationship among the marauders, to no real benefit.
@@arthurbisneto5034 Yeah, I know patronus can change! But if tonks became animagus would it be like her original patronus? Or would it be like the new one? Her original patronus represents herself, it only changed because she fell in love.... So would she turn into a rabbit like the original? Because that's the animal that represents herself.
@@yialn
I know that. That's why I said TRYING to turn him yellow. Obviously it didn't work, in both the movie and the book.
So for reference, Alfonso (the new director) gave the kids creative freedom to choose how to dress themselves to let their personalities shine through! The HP movies are one of the nearly perfect long running series and it’s crazy how with each director change, it fits the developing story so well. I have some gripes about the GoF adaptation, but over all, such a well-rounded depiction of the books. ⚡️
GoF was kind of terrible (The movie not the book)
Yea I personally am not a big fan of GoF adaptation either. It's still good but it feels super out of place when compared to the other movies and it's also the one that was least close to my imagination.
@@officialmonarchmusic what did you find it? terrible. I mean I understand that it wasn't really true to the books but a movie in and of itself. I thought it was pretty good; ok well Dumbledore seemed more angry, than say, in the books
@@marykay8587 It’s a mediocre film and a terrible adaptation. (Mediocre means bad, not middle of the road) The act structure is off, the third task is anticlimactic, Dumbledore is more like Gandalf, sequences get built up to and never payed off, the new first task is incredibly stupid, etc, but it’s an even worse adaptation of the books. The book was a mystery thriller with weaving plot webs, looming danger, and more emotional weight than any book beforehand. Order of the Phoinex was a good adaptation and managed to convey the authentic emotional weight of the book, GoF, not so much. Hagrid’s family and ultimate reconciliation with who he is is cut, Barry’s original arrival with him talking to a tree then collapsing in a panic was cut. The World Cup was cut. The best parts of the third task were likewise, along with six of the seven mysteries. There is no longer any question whether Barty Jr is innocent or not. All of these could have been added or changed with very little difference in screen time. At the very least, they could’ve been cut out of the 30 minute Yule Ball subplot
Not as well-rounded as the new series will be.
you have no idea how AMAZING it was to see these movies in theaters, seeing their trailers before actually seeing the movies and being so hyped for them 😭 i remember seeing the posters for deathly hallows and it was surreal
Omg yes. It brings a tear to my eyes.
I wish they showed the backstory of lupin, snape, harrys parents, and serious. They were such a cool group
Yeah bunch of bullies
@@fugglse mostly james was the bully sirius and lupin met later. ..snape was the bullied person
@@fugglse James was a bully that changed. People forget about second chance. I mean, he even saved Snape on his journey to improving himself.
@@fugglse umm they def showed Harry’s dad bullying snape. But other then that there were so many things told about him and the whole group! I’m guessing you like snape? I do too but I’m not blind to the fact that he takes his childhood out on actual children who he bullies to the point or terror if you read the books
@@kube_Red_Sea for real! Let’s not judge an entire character based on him teasing snape as kids! I want the whole backstory 😩
No one ever mentions how Ron's reading of Harry's tea in the first divination class they took was accurate. He suffered (for what he learned about Serius before meeting him) And was happy about it in the end because he got the truth and Sirius who cares for him. I always found this interesting in the movie. (I can't recall if the tea leaves scene is in the book)
Also!! Loving your reactions as always! Can't wait for the next one!
All the divination in the books is completely accurate. Even the homework Harry and Ron make up on the fly in GoF is accurate. The only issue: their task was to predict their next week but they accidentally predict the triwizard turnament tasks. It's not the methods that are faulty but the interpretation. Most notworthy in this book, Trelawney doesn't want to join the Christmas dinner because of her believe that when 13 dine together the first one to rise would die next (of the dinner guests).
So when Ron and Harry rise simultaneously people think that this somehow disproves or breaks the method... but Ron was feeding Scabbers at the table who was indeed the 13th before Trelawney joined in. So after Trelawney joins in there are 14 but think about what exactly happened before Trelawney came into the room.
Also: since Harry, Ron, and Scabbers rise together the number of people drops immediately from 14 to 11.
@@michaelklaus actually the first person who rise up is Dumbledor , he stand up to get Trelawny sit with them.
I think the divination refers to Harry's fate in the final book, not to the events in Prisoner of Azkaban.
Also all of Trewlaneys predictions are always right but everyone shits on her all the time for being a kook. 🔮
I always saw this situation as its Rons cup its about Ron. HE is going to suffer and be happy about it, because his rat scabbers thats been in the family 13 years, the rat IS family. Ron loved the rat. To loose your pet of 13 years is hard. But it's made easier because we find out the truth, so now Ron is happy about it. He suffered, now he's happy.
This is the last Harry Potter film to be scored by the legendary John Williams. His score for this installment is probably my favourite of the whole series. Buckbeak's Flight and A Window to the Past are stunning pieces.
At the time he’s come out of retirement twice now and sod he’s not stopping your best work is done in your 90’s.
@@JulieShock actually John Williams has retired ...
@@michaelhawkins7389 I read an article saying he was still working. Maybe not on movies but still writing music
Fun fact the snow scene and the Hermione punches Draco scene Goyle was supposed to be in both scenes but the actor that plays him Josh Herdman broke his ankle midway through filming so another slytherin dude to fill in for him
Another fun fact did u know she actually hit him as she kept messing up so he told her to just hit him
Three of my favorite things about Prisoner Of Azkaban are:
1. The song "Double Trouble"
2. Harry flying on Buckbeak's back.
3. The introduction of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black and David Thewlis as Remus Lupin
The buckbeak scene is done better in the movie than the book. I also like the way they transitioned saving buckbeak with Harry saving himself and sirius with the patronus, with the scene of them luring Lupin away and buckbeak saving them which isn't in the book.
Also the time Turner scene ❤❤
@@tommytom2551 that was amazing, and comical how Hermione just smacked Harry's hand when he tried to touch it.
@@knockitoffhudson3470 That was a nice detail that was beautifully thrown in.
Have you listened to "Double Trouble" by The Dark Side Of The Moon? A great cover :)
Fun Fact: In this scene 22:00 in the bloopers they played a prank on Daniel. They hid a fart machine in his sleeping bag and kept making it go off. The best part was that he was placed next to a girl he liked
And the Dumbledore actor had the remote for the fart machine 😅
And it was Alan Rickmans idea 🤣
@@daewallermann9787 Scoundrels! lol Love this behind-the-scenes factoid about this.
"The ones that love us never really leave us."
That line made me cry. My grandfather had died a few months before this movie came out.
Fun Fact: In the Book Harry's memory for his first Patronis wasn't his parent's due to him not knowing them. It was actually the memory of getting his letter to Hogwarts and finally escaping his life with the Dursley's.
Fun fact: J.K. Rowling has stated that the inspiration for the Dementors in Harry Potter came from her own experiences with depression. She has said that Dementors are meant to represent the feeling of depression and the ways in which it can drain the happiness and positivity out of a person.
Which is also the reason why chocolate helps 😉
Also why when it sucks your soul out you dont die, it just leave a husk of a person behind
I think they're also possibly a bit inspired by the 'shroud-eater' vampires of European folklore in terms of the visuals
I wouldn't necessarily call this a "fun' fact 🤨
expecto patronum is based on a yoga technique
I've always felt this was the best film in this series. Still do. Such a great story and I love almost everything with Gary Oldman. Brilliant movie!
Then followed by the worst in the series.
What do you mean "almost"? Please elaborate, as Gary Oldman is amazing but doesn't stay for long, I MEAN--
I also think that it’s the best book in the series.
@@totallybionic123 Agreed. I only read up to the Half Blood Prince, reading only half before I stopped reading the books, but always loved the third, Prisoner of Azkaban, the best.
And the book is the best book too
Funniest part about this movie is the scene after the Fat Lady goes missing and all the kids are in the hall sleeping. Daniel Radcliffe had asked the stage hands to move his sleeping bag next to an extra he was crushing on. During filming, Michael Gambon (Dumbledore) and Alan Rickman (Snape) hid a fart noise machine in Radcliffes sleeping bag, and would randomly press the button in their hands to make it go off.
Just FYI, Harry and Hermione are not supposed to have any chemistry. Their relationship is only ever 100% platonic. Unfortunately, Daniel and Emma grew up to have some chemistry, so it can get confusing for movie watchers who've never read the books. Great reaction! Thanks for sharing
In the books i wanted to be harry and hermione together
@@damienb8568 in the books?
Pity on you. You're shipping bro and sis.
@@Roughguy666Hermione has a whole ass rant on book 5 about how Harry got hot over the summer 💀
Lupin is such a dear character to me, and he is one of the characters why I kinda hope that the Harry Potter series happens. A lot of why people love Lupin comes from his and Harry's dialogue in the books, he becomes very much a father/uncle like character for Harry in Prisoner Of Azkaban and in series form these relations could be explored more for the viewers who've never read the books.
Normally 2-3 years between movies.
Growing up in the UK; this franchise was my childhood. I’m 29 now and I can still binge them so many times without getting bored.
It was 1-2 years between films. They did all eight films in ten years.
Grew up in Peru but also my childhood
@@princesssofiyagm Yeah, the average is 1.25 years. From what I can remember, I think what they generally did was one movie would come out in the summer & the next film would be released around Thanksgiving or Christmas of the following year.
I had resisted the hype of the books and the first two films until PoA came out. Since Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors I went to see it and I was instantly hooked on HP. I immediately went back and started reading the books and went to all the films as they were released. At the age of 66, this is still one of my favorite film franchises.
Gary Oldman was great in this film (as always)
Looks like a total maniac
Sixty-four here, and I love both the books and films.
GoF was, in my opinion, the weakest of the films. And the horrible portrayal of Dumbledore in this film was jarring.
That awkward moment when you realise Fred and George saw Ron sleeping with a man named Peter EVERY NIGHT and didn't say a word to anyone ever.

Dark?.....just wait. The literal darkness becomes deeper every film. Like....literally tough to see sometimes in the late ones! This and 6 are my favorite books and movies. The humor, snark, and sass in those is great!
for real, i remember struggling to even see the screen during Half-blood Prince😂 they really made it dark
I was an adult reading the books (devouring them) and I couldn't wait for the movies. The books are an even richer and immersive experience. I've read each of the books at least twice. Some of the most creative and ingenious books I've ever read. I am with you - I've had a fear of spiders since childhood so we share that! Just wait, Nevill shines by the end of the series.
And the audiobook versions are wonderful too.
such a shame the person who wrote them is a dumbass
To answer your question about kids finding this stuff scary, I will never forget one time when I was young and my parents went out and got a babysitter, and we watched this movie. The scene with the dementors on the train scared the absolute living shit out of me as a young child and I was absolutely terrified for the next hour or two until my parents finally came home.
The dementors were definitely creepy. They even added them to the haunted maze here in town for a few years after this movie came out.
Rowling said she based Dementors on the depression she once suffered from. It shows...
I watched it with 10. I was able to handle the dementors, but lupin turning into this creppy werwolf gave me nightmares.😂
Honestly, what scared me shitless the most was, and I shit you not, the fucking Monster Book of Monsters from the beginning of the movie. (I hated jumpscares, so I never liked watching that scene cause it always made me jump as a kid, hahah)
Same. I remember being so terrified when I watched Chamber of Secrets too. I have a sister so the scene where they say Ginny is missing made me feel sooo horrible, my stomach just SANK.
This is by far the most amazing movie because of its directing. It just feels so different from the other movies in the franchise. The plot is also so tragic and deep. I love this movie the most. Aloha from Hawaii 🌺
Yes! It feels so magical, and we get to see them live their normal lives, Hogsmeade and the kids hanging out in their rooms. Peak worldbuilding and the world they show us feels very lived-in.
It's because of the director! He is praised for making one of the best, if not best, HP films
@@skuxsarah Isn't it first of all because of the story? The director didn't write that. Also, it's worth remembering that Chris Columbus was still producing, and it was the plan from film 1 that the series would get darker as it went on.
@@ThreadBomb yes and none of that takes away from Alfonso Cuaron's style and touch only seen in this film, you can find plenty of video essay's breaking down his direction of this film for more detailed info :)
1. All of Trelawneys prophesies came true 2. When Hermione hit Malfoy it was a real punch.
This is in my opinion the best Harry Potter movie, very close to the last one. The score is absolutely amazing and the cinematography is beautiful.
"Are you serious, dude?"
Sirius: "Yes, I am sirius."
I love the scene with future Harry saving past Harry and Sirius over the lake - made me realize sometimes no one else is coming to save you and you need to save yourself: believe in youself and you will be able to do it, and from that point onwards you will know your true strength.
SO true
And it’s also rly sad when u think of Harry’s situation, that it represents how Harry ends up losing everyone who can help him. That he has to be the one that always saves himself
i honestly think that prisoner of azkaban is my favourite harry potter movie!
it's the perfect blend of light and dark, mystery and adventure, humour and heart ❤
„What you fell over for?“ will always be one of the greatest lines of the movies.
Fun fact: Alan Rickman who plays Snape also played the antagonist Hans Gruber in Die Hard. He's such a good actor.
May he rest in peace. What a legend
And the depressed robot in Hitchhikers’s Guide, and the Sheriff in Prince of Thieves, and metatron in Dogma.
And the list goes on...
Another less know fun facc: Viggo Mortensen actually broke his toe when kicking the helmet in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002) and his scream afterward was real and Peter Jackson liked it so much he kept it in the final cut.
And the husband who breaks his wife’s heart in love actually….
Alfonso Cuaron was the best director of the entire saga
Man's a genius
He completely rebuilt the castle and grounds layout!!!!!!
@@Wrexham_World Absolutely! He made it far more realistic and fantastical, and less like a cheap movie set. And what he established was used for the rest of the series. I wish I could visit the alternate reality where he directed all of the films, or at least from POA onward.

a fun fact about Harry blowing up Marge at the beginning, the minister of magic told Harry that Marge was found in a chimney in Sheffield which means she floated in the sky roughly 170 miles away from where the Dursley's live in Surrey😅
You're the only content creator I watch where I don't skip the sponsor feature. Absolute genius editing.

I'm so glad for these reactions. The movies are truly extraordinary, but the books... oh, the books. U should read it. There are so many extra little details and side stories that makes the universe complete. Trust me, there is magic on every single page :))
“Harry, what are you doing under that blanket?”
Playing with his wand, of course. 😂
Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
Lumos MAXima!
I had a science teacher who was like Hagrid back in middle school, he would bring in live animals into the class for us to study and sometimes hold. It was my favorite class, because of that.
my teacher too! he was so nice and fun. in 5th grade we had guinea pigs, a ferret, a hedgehog in our classroom and we got to hold them 😊. He also let us take turns taking the guinea pigs home for the weekend with parent consent. I got to take them home the first weekend I was so excited, my mom not so much 😅 but I loved it and ended up getting one of my own after
She usually plays the scariest, bitchiest character... just wait till Order Of The Phoenix, you'll meet a scarier, bitchier character than even Miss Trunchbull.
When I watched this movie as a child I’m not kidding it genuinely gave me nightmares in my opinion it has the scariest version of a ware wolf I’ve ever seen and also just the entire feeling u have while watching this movie is terrifying it feels like you’re being watched the entire time
I LOVE the way time travel is done in this film. By far the best use of it in media IMO.
Yes! The second movie was the reason I subbed, I binged every one of your vids for like 3 days and have been waiting for this! I am ready
This makes me really happy
@@alexhefnerstvmovievault PITCH MEETING PITCH MEETING PITCH MEETING
The third film is my favorite. Not just because I do love the third book and the introduction of Sirius Black and the time travel element, but because of the direction and style of Alfonso Cuarón. I wish he had done a few more of the films. I also love how the kids seem to act like real teenagers. You can see how they don't wear their uniforms so prim and perfectly. They mix their own clothes, shirts aren't tucked in. Everyone looks a bit more disheveled then in the first two films. Perfect.
is anyone else’s audio completely out of sync after about 28 minutes
Each of these movies came out a year after the last so them looking different each time is a bit strange some times 🤣😂 I've tried building a snowman before it was easy until it was destroyed 😢 Harry's Patronus is a stag, it is also his father's patronus. It is Certainly the most prominent in the series (and among the best Patronuses in the Wizarding World), as well as the strongest Patronus in the films. Unlike many wizards, he could produce his Patronus at the age of thirteen, with guidance from Remus Lupin. You'll find out Harry's mother's patronus later on in the series but it won't be said out loud.
Alfonso Cuaron did right leaving Harry Potter after the 3rd movie.
Usually when you see a small budget director going from small budget to big budget, he usually wants to stay in the big budget territory, sometimes making sequels or similar movies.
Cuaron avoided that, and instead used his experience on big budget movies to explore other genres and try different things.
I love a director that explores different genres. Is usually what leads to a lasting career.
He’ll understand why when he reacts the really amazing documentary that shows the in depth story by the directors and actors themselves. It’s all so wholesome to watch how it was created. A nice time capsule ❤
That may be true, but that doesn't change the fact that I would have still loved to see what he would have done for any of the other stories. Even if he just did GoF instead of Newell...
I wish he had gone Goblet of Fire instead of some of the garbage we got.
@@hannahlynn8028what are you talking about?
Goblet of Fire was great, and Mike Newell did a great job

I am sorry but you genuinely have the most beautiful teeth I have ever seen in my life. They're literally so perfect I can't keep my eyes off of them every time I watch one of your reactions. You are so lucky to have such a gorgeous smile!
What an unbelievably nice thing to say to someone!! ❤ thank you!
I 100% agree with your sentiment at the end that it's even more fun to be "watching it together" so to say. I love watching videos like this, people watching/reacting to my favorite things for the first time, especially when they end up liking it and getting really invested! Glad you're loving it so far! :)
"Dumbledore, what? Why is everything a puzzle with you? Just tell me what to do!"
Legally he can't, but he is anyway. He has to be cryptic and vague, for plausible deniability.
Always so thrilled when Alex releases a Harry Potter reaction 😂
Scenes like these 15:28 19:40 23:32 16:05 poor Ron always confused about Hermione's presence is because she can travel through time 😂
Seeing you experience the whole series gives me so much joy. I wish I could watch and read all of it for the first time again.
Carlin Brothers speculate that the Marauders Map reveals its secrets to those who are already carrying out mischief or caught doing mischief cause the Weasley twins were in Filch's office when they found it and kept it.
Alex not putting together the lollipop was Harry under the cloak is so funny to me XD
People in Harry Potter are afraid to say Voldemort's name because there used to be a curse called Taboo on that name. When someone said his name they would immediately find the location of that person and capture him.
That happened only in 7th era
As M S said, this only happens in the 7th book/movie. Until this point, people are just too afraid to say his name still.
Well, it was a retcon. It’s implied that’s why they were always afraid to say the name. Because Voldemort or his death eaters might actually appear. They only implemented it in the last book because of plot.
@@Jim_The_Fish How was it implied? I failed to see that
i love the harry potter veterans in the comments giving all the insight of the books for the full picture so he can appreciate the series properly
i love your reactions so much, i binged through all 4 parts with you in one go and it feels like i watched these movies for the very first time! your excitement is very infectious
You’re right about some of us growing up with them. I was in first grade when the first movie came out so I grew up feeling like I was in their class 😊 That basilisk was terrifying when Chamber of Secrets came out 😅
9:17 even tho he is fully expecting it, Alex still falls perfectly for the jump scare. What an amazing reaction.. lol 🤣
The reason that Snape doesn't like harry is because Harry looks like his father and Harry's father used to bully Snape.
probably my fav harry potter film
I absolutely love your Harry Potter reactions. Alex, be prepared for a ton of tragedy as the series goes on.
Also I think this one and goblet of fire are everyone’s favorite books in the series, I really need to finish those.
Order of Phoenix and Half Blood Prince are my favorite books. Shame that films wasn't good enough as books, especially 6th.
@@panrak1492 not everything is going to be perfect. I personally enjoy them all for what they are.
People being afraid of Voldemorts name probably just started by not wanting to speak of someone so evil and terrifying. But in not speaking his name, it adds even more infamy to him. Like Hermione said in part 2, "Fear of the name only invokes fear of the thing itself."
Probably also part of it, but the main reason is the curse which was on the name. When someone said the name, the deatheaters were able to find the person immediately and if i remember correct it also breaks all (basic) protection charms.
@@Marcel-von-Riva that didn't happen until the second wizarding war started and Voldy had control of the Ministry. At least according to the HP Fandom Wiki
It's been theorized that there was a taboo on the name, making it so that Voldemort could find them.
Saying his name can teleport him to wherever you are
@@braedon7127 I guess you didn't read my comment saying that's not the case until book 7 when he takes over the ministry. Up until that point, people just didn't say his name out of fear, not because of the taboo.
Pam Ferris does tend to play those sorts of roles. There was one exception... her character in Call the Midwife. Sister Evangelina, while cranky, was actually really softhearted and was always worried about everyone and she sorta played it off as gruffness and crankiness. Her character was really very lovely.
I've been watching the movies since I was six and you have no idea how awesome it is to watch them again through your eyes and see you getting excited about the story❤🧙🏻♂️
God damn, some of your reaction got me rolling, Alex. This is awesome.
I highly suggest, just on your own time, find a good audio book version of the Harry Potter books. Or the actual books themselves. There's SO MUCH more in the books.
Definitely need to do this I read the books after seeing the films it adds so much detail to the story.
Fun fact about that final scene with Harry receiving his Firebolt, due to a connection with a friend of my family I actually have the script used by Devon Murray (Seamus's actor) signed by the main trio.
damn! that's epic!!
The marauders (when Harry’s parents, Sirius, lupin and everyone else went to hogwarts) are one of the most amazing and heartbreaking part of the Harry Potter universe. The fandom loves them a lot but since we have little to nothing about them since the story is mostly about Harry and his generation the fandom created so many head canons on them
That's like saying, "Hey, your first car got F'd in the A. Just go buy another." Its the sentimental value that hurts the most.
Don't know if you noticed Alex, but there's a new actor for Dumbledore, the OG died shorty before this film...
Richard Harris, was the original Dumbledore. He was a legendary British actor. Check out his credits sometime. The actor playing Dumbledore here and through the end is Michael Gambon.
The HP casts had a Who’s Who of famous British actors. Professor Trelawny is Emma Thompson, btw.
@@genny5309 I know, I was pointing it out for him because he didn’t comment on it in the video so I was sure if he noticed and simply cut it out while editing; but thx anyway…😅😂😂😂😂

You are correct that Sirius escaped from prison by turning into a dog. The dementors couldn’t sense him so he pretty much just changed and walked out.
I literally grew up with the characters as each movie came out, I loved the anticipation and discussions in between film releases
That was so cool watching you reacting on this third tome... It's the best because of this "time situation", but mainly because it's the beginning of the dark turnaround, and you noticed that, clever... 22:03 it's my favourite shot from the movie...I love how the frame focuses on Harry and professor lupin is facing away from Harry..the whole conversation shot is awesome and brilliant
That's my fav movie and always will be. Everything in this movie is iconic like sirius, lupin as werewolf, buckbeak, time turner, hogsmeade, that turn to page 394, Harry's first time learn to cast a Petronas even dementors!
In the books everything is much more elaborate, please read the books, you'll love it! Loved your reaction ❤
The Stag is Harry's patronus, when a patronus is very strong it takes the shape of a animal (its different for everyone theres a quiz for that too btw).Harry's is a stag like his fathers thats why he thought it was him.
His patronus was strong enough the second time (his future self) because he now had a happier memory Sirius offering him to live with him.
Also theres a easter egg in the credits of 2 people having sex on the map lol
So did Fred and George see Ron sleeping with/next to/near a man named “Peter” every night on the map and not say anything?
The level of respect for his privacy. W brothers.
Peter Pettigrew, being one of the marauders (and creators of the map), would not be seen on the map.. at the least that's what I remember from reading the books long time ago. Someone pls correct me if I'm wrong..
@@5891irhs I think this was never confirmed but it is a solid fan theory that only the original marauders (and by proxy Harry, as the son of James) can see each other on the map. That would explain why Fred and George never noticed Peter Pettigrew, but Harry and Remus did.
@@5891irhs
Okay… 😐. 30:51
If true in the book, it isn’t in the movie.
@@ZethisVA why would Harry being his son be an exception? So would any of the 4’s immediate family be able to see them? That would be a little too convenient of an explanation, as many fan theories are.
@@johndough3809 I don't know, but it seems plausible in a world where a mothers love triggers an ancient protection magic that wards of evil as long as Harry stays with his blood relatives and even reflects killing curses. Possibly the map, as a magic artifact, also detects the same "blood" or "magic" in Harry as it does in James, considering how many people say he looks exactly like his father.
