I was six when I first heard a U2 album. It was POP, and has since then been one of my favorite albums ever, and U2 my favorite band. Even then I thought Please was a beautiful song. But now, thanks to UA-cam, I've discovered this live version that's even better. I wish I could've seen the Popmart tour though...
Pure brilliance. The losers who say POP era U2 is their worst.. absolute disgrace. If only i ould go back in time to watch some Popmart shows. Pure heaven.
You do get the talk of what is the best version of 'Streets', many would say it is from U2's Slane 'U2 Go Home' show but what you get here as is with the whole PopMart tour 'Streets' is extended, something that is not done on any other tour.
@GlenMuse795 - it's ok, bad to streets is much better due to them being in similar keys but at different bpm (rise and fall works well), both are iconic Edge signature delay songs and for convenience the songs are played on the same guitar.
That transition from Please into Streets is simply beautiful.
This is AMAZING. Please is such an anguished song. Perfect segue into Where the Streets Have No Name.
Its good

I’ll put Please up against any U2 song post-JT. It could easily fit on AB. Just an underrated song.
Please is ever more appropriate for the people Ukraine 🇺🇦 and Russia 🇷🇺
