- First episode installed blades upside down. Discuss more on blade sharpening with flat edge approach. Discuss zerk fitting #20 which was missed in the first episode of Zerk Fitting Countdown. A viewer was gracious enough to let me know it was missed.
Don't feel too bad, I installed the blades on my ZG upside-down too. Now, before I install new blades, I write on each blade "UP" and "DOWN"
Thanks so much! I just bought this week a ZD326s with only 280 hours on it and well took care of. It’s a 2016/2017 year. Your videos has helped a lot! I’m 40 and I suspect it is the last mower I will ever have to buy….. hopefully 🙏 I will only put about 30 hours a year on it unless I move to a bigger yard one day.
Thank you for watching. You won’t be disappointed with your ZD326…great mower. Watch our video on gearbox oil change. Keep it topped off and change frequently. It’s a small oil volume so it gets worked hard.
When you crank up the front end the jack screw threads need to be lubed. Knock off the plastic cover, it's not needed. Oil the threads when the front is cranked all the way up. It makes it easier to crank by quite a bit.
23 psi in the front tires, 17 psi in the rear tires helps make the cuts better. The deck height adjuster by your right hand can over time and vibration settle lower so the grass is cutting lower than you want. I drilled a hole in the adjuster gear and frame, dropped a pin in the hole so the adjuster cannot move.
The front anti-scalp wheels snap ring pin kept falling out on mine so I replaced them with bolts and double nutted them. Never had one fall off again. The center anti- scalp double wheels will get gummed up and stick to the bolt, causing the bolt to spin in the hole and wear the bolt and hole out. I welded some rod to the head of the bolt. This rod goes rearward and bends 90 degrees which then goes through a hole in the mount. No more spinning bolt to wear out.
Yep…good idea and something I’ve considered and will eventually do
Really like your videos. Very informative, educational and fun to watch.
Keep it up
Thank you. We appreciate your positive feedback.
I just learned their are actually grease fittings on my zd331 scalp wheels! Years of owning I never knew.
I've got ZD326 Kubota and it's been leaving a mess in the center. The last time I was on it the little candle lit (most people have a bulb) and I thought... did I put the center blade on wrong? I'll check blades this afternoon. I searched UA-cam college and found this channel. I'll be back.
I once installed the blades upside down…felt like an idiot but decided to leave the video as is for laughs. Surprisingly it cut ok…just looked a little weird
Your Kubota ZD326 videos have help me out a lot. Is there any chance you could do a video of the hydraulic/ transmission oil change? Thanks!
Thank you for watching and appreciate your comments. Because we did the hydraulics 2 years ago, and being on a 5 to 7 year cycle, I won’t be changing that oil anytime soon. However, I will take a look at how we might produce a video anyways. It’s important to change out both filters…be prepared for a big expense with those 2 filters. Surprisingly, the hydraulic oil change is not all that bad but there’s a lotta oil to deal with as you likely already know.
Air those tires up make it alot easier cranking it up
I think you have to much faith in your lifting mechanism.
I put my blades on upside down and all summer, i took them off to sharpen for this summer and i looked hard and realized they are upside down, they did cut fine but now they cut beautiful, i couldn’t believe i done that either, i guess im getting old or something😂 the zd326 is the best mower, hands down.
I know how you feel. Still can’t believe I did that. What’s so embarrassing is to have a follower watching your video and commenting on the upside down blade installation…lol. Now I just laugh about it.
Youngblood, I couldn’t agree more. We’ve had our 326 for 18 years and the Diesel engine still runs as strong as the day we brought it home.
