Best thing about this vid: you are of a genuine nature, honestly giving your opinion. Thank you
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. That what I try doing, just express my opinions whether they're good or bad.
Just found you. Great review. A fixed blade girl. Like that traditional tanto! Dont mind heavier. Carry the Cold steel tanto. Great knife. Like the Becker 18 too. Your vids are thorough and complete. Appreciate that. God Bless
Wow that's great to hear, thanks. It's always refreshing to see girls who likes knives. I try making knife videos that's different than your typical mainstream knives.
Great video! I'm a Native American Navy Brat daughter of a special forces instructor & code breaker. So, I LOVE my fixed blades. Big, or small. I do like folders for other reasons. I see knives as interactive art. I'm hearing nothing but good things about Oearla. other knife channels are pronouncing it -Earl-uh-. Great video! Thanks for sharing. subscribed!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I do enjoy the Oerla knife, and I'm planning to get more. For the price, you cant beat it. I have much respect for all those that served. So thank you for your support!
Have the SOG Gambit and for the money it's a nifty little blade. Wish the metal was of better quality but it's not meant for daily use, so edge retention isn't much of a concern. I did wrap over the fiberglass grips with 550 cord to add some girth and found it to be a little more manageable for quicker deployment and stability. I keep it on my plate carrier for a GTFOM setup and works seamlessly.
Absolutely, good knife for the money. Surprisingly for karambit, it's a good utility knife too. Good idea wrapping it with cordage.
Nice video. I am a lifelong martial artist studying Kali knife in my last years, and always on the lookout for good fixed blades
Thanks.
Like your style. Subbed!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I took only a few years of martial arts, but I always have a passion for knives and am always on the lookout for something new.
Now I've seen all of your videos!- can't wait for more! Great job!!
Wow that awesome!! Thank you very much!
I love my gambit!! There have been knives I've paid over a hundred dollars for. .. the gambit beats them. Good stuff!
Yeah right. I try to stay in the budget of $25 - $100 with most of the knives that I buy. I find there are a lot of good quality knives for that price range.
I've got that same S&W boot knife! Love your videos!!
Thanks, greatly appreciated. Hard believe, but I have that boot knife for over 20 years now
@@BladesandBait I believe it! In 1998 I moved to Tennessee for 2 years- Smokey Mountain Knifeworks is truly awesome!- that's when & where I got that S&W boot knife. 👍👍
@doubledome20 that's the one place I wouldn't mind checking out one of these days.
@@BladesandBait besides all of the blades you can buy, they have old knives all over the walls! I remember this 2 blade " pocket " knife on the wall- closed it was every bit of 5 feet.. older than I am now ( 50 ) back then! A lot of animals as well- stuffed, yet full size- bears, elephants, rhinos, etc.. well worth the trip.
@doubledome20 That sounds pretty cool. The other place I wouldn't checking out is the main Basspro Shop Pyramid.
Great video. Personally krambits are my go to for a self defense knife and I carry a Fox Black Bird every day. I'd prefer if it had more of a gaurd but its not too bad otherwise. One thing I'd say though is to avoid anything with serrations when it comes to self defense. They are VERY likely to get caught on/in things such as clothing making use a lot less straight foward and easy as a plain edge.
I agree, the karambit makes for a good self defense weapon, all though I typically forget to carry it. Instead I always have a pocket knife that I use for my edc.
Good video, check out the White river m1 caper is a move for appendix carry i edc one. Idk about self defense I did abunch of karate/taekwondo but at the end of the day my Glock or mace is more effective then the knife in my opinion. Really need to know what your doing and be close If your going to use a deadly weapon a 9mm compact would be my go to.
Thanks. I completely agree, once it comes to self defense, a firearm would be the most effective. However I found that many people don't want to carry one, and it's better to have something on you than nothing at all.
Check out Civivi's orthrus multi position fixed blade karambit knife, it's become my new self defense edc
Wow, that looks pretty badass. I definitely need to check it out. Thanks for the input 👍
Do one for under $60 next please.
Sounds good, I'm always looking for something interesting and new.
as i was watching you review the oerla i was like.... a rat3 is prolly a better choice.... then i saw the price on amazon. yeah i'm buying one now!
True, it's probably going to be much lighter than the Oerla. Though I do admit it's a good knife for the price.
Thank you for the video. I would love to see more content like this. You definitely won my sub. How has the Oerla (pronounced Oh-air-la just fyi) treated you so far? Do you think they did a good job with the 420HC steel? Have you had any Buck knives with that steel? If so, how would you compare the steel performance? I don't expect it to be as good as Buck, but does it take and hold a decent edge? Good job. I'll be looking forward to more videos.
Thank you, it's greatly appreciated! The Oerla is a good solid knife and holds an edge well. The only thing I don't like, it is a heavy knife. For a fixed blade, I prefer more like cold steel Bushman, or the Buck Hunter.
👍 Good vidja. Big up from Sweden👍
Thanks!
I used to have one of the small hawk bill full serrations S&W like u have there. I bought it years ago and somewhere over time it was lost or stolen. And I can't for the life of me find another one. . I Kno crkt sells a current one but it's kinda expensive. I think I paid $25 for my s&w a while back.
They're good knives for the money and you still can find them on ebay. I just prefer more of the traditional karambit style.
@@BladesandBait I'm gonna half to check e bay. I've only checked Amazon and some random Googling. I really wanna get one for my gf. Like a karambit in a slashing motion it will do ALOT damage.
@@cloudnine8842for sure, they're great for self defense. Ebay may have it from time to time. That's where I buy about 80% of all my knives now. You just need to have a little patience to find the ones with the price you want.
@@BladesandBait awesome thank you. I just found your channel also and am subbed.
@@cloudnine8842 I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you, it's greatly appreciated.
I carry every day in every situation and train every day no matter what. My go to are karambits.there truly isn't a better platform for self defense, so long as we are talkin blades anyways, and I don't carry guns.every bullet needs an attorney and not all bullets go where they are told or stop where you want them so......
I agree, the karambit is a great knife for self-defense. Unlike guns, at least you can utilize a knife daily. I did have a few firearms in the past, but there are far too many legalities in carrying them.
@@BladesandBait and you sir, just became my favorite tuber.
@@ahilbilyredneksopinion wow that's greatly appreciated! Thanks, I'm always on the lookout for new interesting knives.
@@BladesandBait my favorite are from masalong and kiaslore. Amazon goodies fer cheeep.
@@ahilbilyredneksopinion I have never heard of those brands before. After pulling them up, they seem like they have a pretty good quality and not costing a lot. I might get one.
If you want to just see the knives skip ahead to 2:56
tactical lol..everything is now "tactical" as if a normal knife isn't
Why am I weary of any random person carrying a big ass knife in public?
Actually I don't carry them, they just stay in my collection. I carry only my small pocket knives.
These are not big knives.
@@charlesmartel342 They're not, the biggest one is only about 7.5 inches.
The whole point of these is that they are small and concealable. We could walk by each other every day and you'd never suspect that I was carrying a ten-inch knife designed for slaughtering humans.
@@elihollingsworth6852 I completely agree with you. The fact is, many people carry some sort of a weapon, but you don't see a bunch of people trying to kill each other. They are there just in case you do need it for self defense.
#3 channel your inner squirrel and bite and scratch their face off.
Haha right.
