Check the resistance on the bad injector and let us know.

Excellent demonstration/review, Shawn. I’ve been wanting to get one but have been put off by the price of the larger ones. I run straight ethanol on my higher horsepower build and it sits all winter, so this spring I sent that set out for a clean and test. This machine will do what I need. I buy my higher horsepower injectors flow matched from a reputable source and just need a cleaner and a ballpark test on them now and then to make sure they’re not way off.

I just went to a wrecking yard and clipped some injector connectors from trucks that already had the harness butchered. I used them to make some quick connect harnesses.

Ive been had the 6cyl cleaner/tester for 3yrs and havent taken it out the box yet, need to organize the shop and make a hole for it. Also bought the (i think) 5 liter sonic cleaner for slightly bigger carb parts sitting on top of it

Stock Gen3 truck injectors are either 24.8# or 25.2#

I would fill the ulttasonic bath a little further. Ive also used techron injector cleaner in the bath and submerge them sideways with connector pointing up and have had good results in freeing stuck injectors. Who told you to use mineral spirits for flowing? According to my autool manual they recomended 90+ alchol or testing fluid.

Interesting assessment. What size injectors are those? Did you ever test the unworking injector with a multimeter, to see if it is simply dead? Or do you think it's actually fully clogged?

They were 25.2lb LM7 truck injectors. The bad ones ohmed out like the working ones, probably just stuck or plugged.

@@mountainsgarage Interesting. Thanks for that info. I want to test a couple injector that do not ohm out properly, and see how those flow. I think I would have to perform a static flow test. Does that machine have a static flow mode that allows you to open the injector all the way (not pulsing it) and measure the flow to determine if it is really flowing 25.2lbs?

@@Technically-Matt It doesn’t have that setting, maybe others do?

@@mountainsgarageGood question. I’m trying to determine that now, from others that I know who have a machine. Worst case scenario, I found a video from another guy that found a digital timer that he wired into a home made machine that allowed him to hold the injectors fully open, to perform a static flow test. 👍
