Hi, thanks for the review! I am pretty close to buying one of these. I was wondering if you are still happy with it and whether you have seen any problems with the fly, being 0.34 oz/yd2 makes me hesitate a little bit
We found this tent to be great and not had any problems. We stayed in it on campsites staying few days in one place and also multi day backpacking. We do however take care not to damage it (as we do with all our gear) and we purchased a footprint which will give a little protection from the ground.
They don’t list it. I will say that of the 3 dynema tents I’ve owned this is the thinnest material I’ve seen used. The floor seems like it is very close to the thickness zpacks uses on the walls of the duplex, so 0.5 oz/sq.yrd. The fly is much thinner. I’d guess 0.25. It is reinforced substantially with double layers and/or thicker fabric in the high stress areas though. I’m not worried too much about the durability of the fly. The floor does have me worried a bit though. I don’t think it would last a pct hike. Between the thin floor and solid walls I’m very curious how the inner of the regular tiger wall compares weight wise. If it’s close enough I might just use the fly and poles from the carbon and the inner from the regular one. Not mad about it at all given the current REI price though.
Just picked this up at REI new $389. Good review. Thanks.
Cool! Nice one :) congrats!
Same !!!
Hey same here!
It’s great to hear from someone who’s owned one a while and is really happy with it!
You sure it was the tiger wall 3 carbon and not the regular tiger wall UL3?
@@spacecruisers 100% certain. It was 70% off.
Does anyone know what the alternative footprint is?
The original one is rectangular and only cover the sleeping space. The alternative one is slightly larger and extends into the porches.

Does it have zipper on the fly? Or just velcro patches?
Does anyone know which dcf thickness it is?
