    Hi, thanks for the review! I am pretty close to buying one of these. I was wondering if you are still happy with it and whether you have seen any problems with the fly, being 0.34 oz/yd2 makes me hesitate a little bit

      We found this tent to be great and not had any problems. We stayed in it on campsites staying few days in one place and also multi day backpacking. We do however take care not to damage it (as we do with all our gear) and we purchased a footprint which will give a little protection from the ground.

    The Lyke Wake Walk is the only long-distance hike I’ve done, as I am not into camping. Like Martina half way through the walk I developed blisters but just had to continue with every step being painful. I had to let my two fellow walkers go on ahead as I was slowing them down but they always kept me in sight and only arrived in Ravenscar about half an hour after them. I was rewarded by a lovely view of Ravenscar Bay which was stunning in the evening light. Back then, 1995 I lived in Scarborough so also did many circular day walks which took in many parts of the coastal path from Skinningrove to Flamborough Head and the Cleveland Way. Many thanks for posting your adventure, it brings back fond memories.

    Does anyone know which dcf thickness it is?

    • @SeanJuan_
      @SeanJuan_ 2 роки тому

      They don’t list it. I will say that of the 3 dynema tents I’ve owned this is the thinnest material I’ve seen used. The floor seems like it is very close to the thickness zpacks uses on the walls of the duplex, so 0.5 oz/sq.yrd. The fly is much thinner. I’d guess 0.25. It is reinforced substantially with double layers and/or thicker fabric in the high stress areas though. I’m not worried too much about the durability of the fly. The floor does have me worried a bit though. I don’t think it would last a pct hike. Between the thin floor and solid walls I’m very curious how the inner of the regular tiger wall compares weight wise. If it’s close enough I might just use the fly and poles from the carbon and the inner from the regular one. Not mad about it at all given the current REI price though.
