New Brake Shoe & Drum Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ABD...
Brake shoes wear out over time, much like tires, and need replacing, on average, every 50,000 miles, with variations depending on driving habits and environment. Brake drums may also need to be replaced if they are warped or grooved. Often, it’s safer and more cost effective to replace shoes and drums at the same time. Squealing or grinding noises, or wheel vibration are all symptoms of worn brakes. This video shows you how to install new, quality TRQ shoes and drums on your 1988-2002 GMC K1500.

Taking the retainer springs off and back on sure is easier with the proper tool! I learned from experience.

How did the back plates get so clean? Special cleaning or replacement? Getting ready to change out my 1995 K1500 rear brakes as I am not sure they have every been replaced and this video is very helpful. Thanks! Also it would be good to note these are the 10 inch rear brakes in the video as the 11.25 rear brakes are slightly different.

I'm guessing you blead the brakes because you replaced the backplate? Cause I don't see a reason if it was just a brake pad/arm replacement.

I use a piece of small clear hose on the bleeder fitting going into a bottle to capture the fluid while bleeding brakes. Getting brake fluid all over sucks

Great instructional video. Everything is clear to see and thoroughly explained.
Can you please tell me if these were 10" or 11" brakes.

I agree with a new video. You performed quite a few operations that were hidden behind other parts. A REAL PRO would have shot the scene AGAIN from the back side where things weren't hidden, then continued..... Otherwise, all good. This had me scared, now I feel a bit better if I could do them. I don't know what my size is - 10 or 11.5.....
