New Wheel Bearing & Seal Kit from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1ASHS00841
If you hear a grinding or groaning noise while your vehicle is rolling, it might have a worn out wheel bearing. A worn bearing can allow the wheel to wobble, creating a host of other issues. To save yourself from more headaches down the road, replace your bearing right away. For solid rear axles, you'll need to replace the axle seal too. This video shows you how to install a new TRQ wheel bearing and axle seal on your 1988-2002 GMC K1500.

I had a piece of 1" cold rolled steel round stock 9' long that went right through the differential and tapped the bearings and seals out with a five pound sledge hammer without even damaging the bearings or the seals. No problem and regular steel or aluminum round stock would have done the job also. Just make sure the round stock is clean before you stick it into the axle housing.

I recently replaced my axle bearings and seals. I noticed on the axle bore where the bearing is pressed into, has a rough spot inside of it, Would this cause any noises? Like a deceleration roar? I went ahead and pressed the bearing in since it was only the back of the race that was touching the rough spot. The spot is at the 12 o clock position, i suppose from the load of the axle..
