My dad died when I was five and the only thing I remember about him was that I loved him and waited for him at the end of the day..that was over 60 years ago❤
I was going to say almost the same thing! I've seen probably most of these segments, but put together, this is even better! I still can tear up at the drop of a hat when I hear some of these. Steve's stories are so special. I hope he keeps telling them for years to come!
My Dad was a taciturn man of few words. I got only a few terse, 2-3 sentence ‘letters’ from him in his 78 years. At the end of his life, only a few days before he died from lymphoma, he asked for his notebook. He laboriously wrote for about 25 minutes, then asked for it to be given to his younger friend in his Bible study group. My step mom and I went to see what he’d so painstakingly written. It was a list of about 16-17 widows or invalids in their church, along with their addresses. Then, a list of all the trees on their properties, and the correct way to prune them for optimal fruit production, strength, and longevity. While my Dad didn’t write extensively, our phone conversations every week were great. We discussed everything, there was no topic off limits. The greatest luxury of my life has been those phone convos and our face to face discussions. We could talk about the most boring (to some) subjects: the aforementioned pruning, gardening, fertilizers, family issues, politics, music, theater…you name it. I look forward to hearing that dear voice again one day.
Steve Hartman takes me on a journey of all my emotions. I usually have tears in my eyes. The piece he did with his kids made me laugh, cry, and think what a wonderful man he is. Thank you for showing us the kind and good things in life. Bless you, Steve.
Mr Hartman, I have been seeing all your videos and I am so sorry about your Dad, my dad lived to be 95 but I still miss him so so much. Wish I had the words of comfort you but I haven’t found them yet.
The Fathers of the Bride story got me. My husband died in 2017. My daughter had met and introduced us to a nice young man who was on the verge of "popping the question" when this tragedy occurred. This young man patiently waited a year so my daughter could begin to recover from her loss. When we announced they were engaged, several men who had beeb my husband's friends offered to walk her down the aisle, but she had already made her choice. The week before the wedding, I realized that 17 of our guests were members of a club along with my husband, so I asked her to call them up to have their picture taken with the bride and groom. That was the photo that was in the wedding announcement. A lot of these men had to get in line to have this privilege. I won't forget that bittersweet day.
Dear God, Please help me break this addiction of these great videos. Steve Hartman is to blame for the tears, laughter, thoughts and drive to be a better person. This is the kind of addiction I want and need. The world needs more of these type of people and reporters that bring them to us. Steve you have made life so much more to be grateful for and to try harder. Since my dad and I have an okay relationship, I have come to realize that he gave me the lessons that I so many times didn't follow. Now that I am old, my dear dad has become more part of my life now than when he was alive. Thank you Dad and Thank you Steve Hartman bring bringing life to them all. I love and miss you so much. A grateful son. Happy Fathers Day Steve and all the fathers.
Steve Hartman is an inspiration for everything he does. The poignant father series was especially heartfelt. I might be an old English farmer's wife but I miss my precious dad every day xx
I came across this only today. From the unsettling events that is becoming a part of our daily lives, this is truly encouraging! Thank you, Steve Hartman. I hope you'll continue with this!
That story above that old guy being a dad and husband and his house he lived in forever could just make me break down and cry...but I'm being very strong and brave about it. 😅❤😂 Beautiful Story!!! I'm not crying-you are.
Steve, I attribute some of my recent conversations with random total strangers not only to my Mom, but your Dad. I am a 72 year old retired secretary living in Michigan. I love to strike up conversations at the gas pumps where I reveal that in 1971 I could fill up my VW Beetle for $2.10 and drive all week long. Gas was between 21 and 24 cents a gallon. I drove that 1971 VW Super Beetle off of the showroom floor with only a $300 deposit down. My car payments were $76.40 a month for 18 months. Although I cannot recall what I had for lunch today. LOL
FATHER'S DAY DADS AT WAR ** Where would I be without you dad My hero of night and day? I'm so glad you love my mother And think of us when you pray. The last time we had Christmas You reached for me with your hand. I looked at you, then made a wish That I might be just half the man. I love my father of Earth, And I love my Father of Heaven. It's a lot for me to love, you know For I’m only eleven. Mom and I sure miss you Since you left to defend our flag. When others ask, where’s your dad I can't help but cry and brag. @@suzannedepadro9265 I’m no longer a believer, but that being said my SIL called this morning and said she left church because she got bored. She and brother are former campus ministers and she is trying to figure it all out at 52. Nothing wrong with that.
