Filip S Because it's really boring, the chance to summon the Doomguard is 1/20, the chances of Doom even doing any damage in anything other than raids or PvP are next to none, and the likeliness of it killing anything are very very low.
Destruction will probably always be my go-to spec when it comes to PvP. Chaos bolt is one of few almost spammable spells in the entire game that actually deals shitloads of damage if you pick the pvp talent that makes it deal 60% more damage by removing the cleave. It reminds me so much from what elemental shaman used to be back in wrath.
Man i can still feel that wrath lava burst and chaos bolt after so many years. They knew when they see casting "lava burst" or "chaos bolt" they are about get their balls crushed
and there actually only were warrior, paladin and i think shaman to be able to negate them completly.. warrior could reflect, paladin has bubble and shaman had the grounding totem
Cracking video, man! Loved meeting you the other night. Lots of love, the small dude that bought you a beer and you gave amazing advice to about my stream / UA-cam. You're an amazing person! Thank you and all the love to you
I feel like I'm the only one who has this issue. I watch people pvp with their caster characters, mage, lock, boomkin, etc. And absolutely wreck melee with no difficulties. I try to do it and I get absolutely fucked. I usually can't even get a cast off before they rush me and run in circles thus making me miss my spell or interrupting my spells perfectly and ruining my rotations... Makes me feel like I suck at pvp, and that blows.
Joseph Mikolash And how do you expect to kite with a warlock, when most of the spells have cast time? If you're affliction, it's understandable, as you can demonic portal around and bamboozle melees while casting dots IN MOVEMENT, and you CANNOT MOVE while casting incinerates, chaos bolts, or shadow bolts. Fel flame is now history, and fear is supposed to be used in key moments, not being fucking spammed like having a mental disability. Use your fucking brain for a bit, it's not that hard.
Austin Mark And when did I rage? I was just expressing my opinion. Not mad at all, actually. Maybe you got confused, and then you would. Emotions are kinda hard to show in a bunch of words.
i jiggled at the "new improvement" they added to doom "if doom kills an enemy, it has a 5% chance to spawn a doomguard".. wow.. how likely is this? a dot that does dmg once 30s after casting does is the killing blow to some enemy? if i actually want to bet on that i should start to gamble, cause winning with that is more likely
thank you man see sometimes I can't watch bell because imo he says some things that are just off when he said demo was Bad I had to wholesome disagree I actually thought it was very interactive
You didn't mention that Dreadstalkers guarantee 1 Demonic Core each when they die/dispawn, meaning you generally always get 2 of them 12 seconds after you cast Summon Dreadstalkers. As for Nether Portal, you can't use a 4 shard Hand of Gul'dan, HoG takes 1-3 shards now (spawning 1-3 imps). Other than those things I agree that it's an amazing class, I've always been wanting to play Warlock but they've always seemed lacking too so I've not been able to level on to 110 yet, I'm at lv 54 now and I've enjoyed every second :D
23:16 Did that Demonbolt just hit for over 17,000? So like, the dot spec has the hardest hitting spell in the game right now if fired with max dots up?
I am so happy about the new demo spec and animations but I am a little disappointed that locks didn’t get many changes in the new character casting animations
They said in the Q&A that they're still trying to figure out new cast animations to add to the warlocks, they did get a few already, like for Hand of Gul'dan for example.
Link To Reality Hand of Gul'dan and Demonbolt have the same, albeit new, casting animation. As a Worgen Warlock, it feels and looks soooo good to cast Hand. The normal casting animations on Worgen look kinda goofy, but the new one makes up for it.
Simply to add - Demonic Tyrant extends the duration , and increases the damage of, /all/your active demons, not just imps. This includes your stalkers, anything from the nether portal, vilefiend, random summons from Inner Demons, the works. It's spectacularly useful. (And whilst not useful for Battle end-game, the Superior Summoning ring (Infernal/Doomguard CDR) now reduces Demonic Tyrant CD instead.
The thing i like about the current Demonology is that it feels more involved: -I- am the one who decides how long my imps live for. Whereas in legion you felt stuck in a cycle that either ended with the mob dying or you being forced to move. The other thing i like is that my main demon buff is another demon: The Tyrant allows for a warlock to sound the horn and put your imps into overdrive. Or allow you to use molten core to cycle shards really damned fast.
Just curious what ui addons are you running? Love the resources and dots over the actual target rather then a static bar on ui. Full addon list would be great too! Always looking for good addons.
I've been having lots of fun. It's really cool to see how many demons and different spawning demons I can get on the field at the same time. The new destruction fire sound effects are nice too. Plays a lot smoother overall imo. I do miss my destruction artifact ability
How to fix affliction. Haunt baseline. Nightfall baseline. Sow of seeds instant but has cd. Shadow bolt has a chance to refresh dot or generate a soul shard. Unstable affliction damage is increased by each US you have on the target making people bank their soul shards till they have 5 and dumping them on the target all at once.
Shadowburn doesn't replace conflagrate anymore, meaning you still get the baseline version of conflagrate while being able to spec into sdb which makes it much better of a choice than in legion.
When talking about the Nether Portal Talent for demo, you said doing a 4 soul shard Hand of Gul'dan. Doesn't that only consume a max of 3, or am I missing something here?
the only problem with doom is how often are there mobs that survive for 30 seconds, and even then the chances of doom actually being the killing blow is crazy small. added with the fact that its only a 5% chance, we will probably never see a doomguard spawn from it
Agreed. If it did damage like any other DoT or the chance to spawn a doomguard was increased to 100%, at least 50% it would be fine. Just a flawed ability atm.
Hey bellular, I was wondering if there’s any sort of release schedule with these class review videos you’re doing? I know how busy you are so I totally understand how difficult it can be to keep things locked in on a release schedule but was just curious. Keep doing what you’re doing dude I love your wow videos and format.
I have to say I am ok with e Affliction lock so far, though seems odd without life tap. My only issues are having to choose shadow bolt or drain soul and the ramp up time to get decent damage especially if you take the shadow bolt buff, it can be doubly punishing if they drop off or you have to switch targets.
purexed that was the fun thing about it. I loved casting it on an enemy who knows he's about to die. He runs and runs and tries to survive and he does for a moment until the giant bolt of death catches him. It's a sophisticated spell. It gives your warlock time to put out a beach chair, make a margarita and enjoy watching your enemy slowly accept their fate.
@@ryujinjakka4518 I get the 'fun' aspect of chaos bolt traveling slowly, but any aspect regarding mechanics it's just outright better to go faster. The old missile speed was so long players had half a century to react with defensive abilities.
Been affliction a long time and after watching your vid, made me find doubts in keeping this my main spec. I liked how I could solo almost anything since I'm unguilded. :( I hope to make it work. Great video as usual.
Damn Bellualar coming up! Icy Veins is a huge name man gz! I hope they can step up their game this xpac, key is just just keep things up to date, if they do that well they will succeed!
What's the add on you use showing the countdown of unstable affliction / agony / corruption etc . Those little icons underneath my target are far too small for these ageing eyes nowadays . Thanks . Edited to ask , Switched to try Demo , but is there no instant tap button ? Gonna be hard tagging things on release when everything has a long cast you will be getting mobs stole left right and centre , or am I missing it somewhere ?
Thanks for all this, but you might want to get some more lighting on your left side. There has been some wicked shadowing on your face for quite a few videos now. Maybe it is intentional - doing a Light vs. Void theme?
I wish warlocks played like how Guldan does in HotS. An instant cast cone AoE wave of fel energy and AoE circles of corruption that also apply a DoT, both can be used while moving. Both cost tons of mana, forcing you to life tap, but you get your health back with life drain. Throw in some demon synergy and I think it would be super fun, more fun than just DoT or Imp management.
I know some people liked the meta demonology locks but honestly, the 8.0 demo lock hits the class fantasy pretty well, summoning a ton of demons, having a mini army of imps, It just feels good. Still has a bit of a ramp up so starting fights can be slow, but once it gets going it feels good.
Anyone else notice that flickering weird shadow effect on bell's warlock between the 2:14 and 2:16 mark? play it at 0.25 speed and watch when he casts shadow bolt back to back.. I have the same issue in-game but I thought I was going mad because no one else seemed to notice Edit: managed to snipe a screenshot prntscr.com/k9exmo
So from a visual standpoint, i.e when the big demon buffs you and the other demons there is a blue flame above your head. With this in mind the imps do not seem to get buffed BellularGaming.
Returning player so this helped alot. Was wondering how you got your cooldown bars like that? Is that a setting in Elvui i cant find or another add on?
Havoc's CD may have been reduced but probably worth mentioning that in turn, the damage on the Havoc target has been majorly nerfed. Used to just be a standard 100% copy.
Been playing this new Demo for a couple days now on pre-patch and, I gotta admit ... I actually miss the Legion version. There are a lot of improvements in the new version, for sure, mostly surrounding the imps. But everything else got weird. Cooldowns don't line-up (1.5 min on Tyrant, 2 min on Grimoire: FG, etc.), they give you more spells for your Felguard to cast but is on *YOUR* GCD, they super-nerfed Grimoire FG down to near-uselessness, and it just feels infinitely less mobile than Legion. Even the talents that seem designed to sync well DON'T sync well, like Power Siphon + Inner Demons. There's about a 1-second window at a time that you'd have only 1 imp up instead of 2 and if you cast Power Siphon in that window, you lose out on a stack of instant Demonic Core for 30 secs. And since they don't show the timers for demons anymore, you can't visually tell if you're approaching that window.
If THAT was the point, then it was a terrible idea to begin with, in my opinion. So far, nothing about this new demo feels **better** to me. I'm standing still a lot, I have no burst, my talents and spells don't sync well. And everything that people complained about in Legion, are still there, just wearing a different face. Now instead of spamming Demonic Empowerment, we're spamming shadowbolt. Instead of lining things up for a Thal'Kiel's Consumption, we now have to line things up for Demonic Tyrant (more difficultly, because of the cooldown mismatches).
Legion Demo just felt really awkward and clunky to play, Empower Demon felt really lacklustre and Demon Wrath just felt...bad. BFA Demo feels really smooth, satisfying, way more involved and it looks really good visually.
how was the legion version more mobile? you had exactly one spell you could use while moving.. doom. okay, it's two if you count lifetap.. i have to admit i dont get the "it's so new and different" vibe, because all they did in the long run was killing of the empowerment and making the demons/imps good enough without it. but some talents are good enough in my eyes to make the final version of bfa more mobile than legion. we have this new strike for our main demon on a 10s CD that gives us a shard and is instant, we have those procs that we can throw out if the fight is predictable and we can line those procs up to use at the moment we have to run.. so yeah, i think there's more potential.. but i do think demo sucks in pvp since the enemy can force your demons to walk around instead of doing dmg (range) and without a solid start up of like 2-3 hand of gimps you wont get enough procs to be good. (havent tried pvp much yet, so i'm just assuming at this point)
It should be noted that back in the Alpha, Deathbolt actually replaced Shadowbolt, didn't have a cooldown and would lower your DoT durations ala Internal Combustion
Grimoire of Sacrifice is NOT the same. The new one also let's you used the sacrificed demons command demon ability. Shadow bulwark is a great ability because it gives you an extra 20% current and max health on a 30 second cooldown. also something you failed to bring up is how warlock pets damage have been equalized so now it's just a matter if you want the cleanse, the tank, the interrupt or the charm. This is a big change and should have been covered
Started leveling warlock before BfA hits and both affliction and destruction were boring to me, but later I switched to demonology and it was a lot of fun seeing your enemies crumble under the wast armies of imps coming in. Most fun spec for me now.
Amazing vídeo as Always Bellular, could you please please please make a vídeo explaining the diference/comparing between Direct X 11 and 12 for BFA? Many people have questions about this (me included) Thank you a lot for the great content!
i dont think there are too many locks around, you just have the feeling it does, because it's easier to get to max level in modern wow, thus a lot of people will have twinks that are more or less well equiped. and as soon as warlock gets to be flavour of the month, a lot of people will tend to switch to it.and affliction did pretty well for over half of the addon.
GayForPsyHEART true but my main problem with it is how it was treated When it became a demon Hunter ability, it whent from epic burst transformation that rewarded good player's, to Nice looking cooldown buff.
Actually, grimoire of sacrifice is not exactly the same as in Legion since it now, once again, grants you the sacrificed demon's ability as it used to before Legion, which is really nice.
Did I miss it, or did you fail to mention the use of Dreadstlakes? Summoning Dreadstalkers is the most important spell to keep on cool down because every time a dreadstalker fades there is a 100% chance you get a stack of demon core. You always want dreadstalkers up and fading.
Thanks for the video. In the future can you increase volume of the parts when you talk? Had volume all the way up and you're still so low. Then the transitions come in and it's crazy loud. Thanks bro
So, let me get this right, you don't level as affliction because you have never decided to dot every mob in the area and complete any quest 10x faster than either other spec can achieve because they need to stop and cast to do damage?
It definitely is ElvUI, Probably also combined with some form of weakauras plugin (alot of mods can add that functionality. I don't actually use ElvUI myself, so its entirely possible the mod provides it all directly). A lot of the differences you may be seeing are purely due to things like border widths and button separations, ElvUI does allow quite a bit of customization from what I've seen around the interwebs of people using it. Now as to whether he's using some specific preset or if its entirely custom - only Bellular (or someone else using the same preset, if it is one) could tell you that.
Correction: Nether Portal doesn't count how many Soul Shards used. Instead any spell that uses Soul Shards summons an additional random demon while the portal is active.
Demonology 0:51

Arrgus is that the only named demon you can summon or are there more?
LurkerXXXVII i can confirm the Prince.
I can confirm it still does this. It also summons Eyes of Guldan.
Prince even showed up for me in a BG so it works there too.
It can also summon pits lords and Lord Jaraxxus
Fire, my favorite warlock spec!

Platypys it still is the video title? What do you mean?
Read again!
Affliction was Fire, for those who didn't catch it.
Must Rästas but it said fire and destruction in the title :^]
21:46 Burning Rash? Sounds pretty painful
anal [Burning Rash]
There's a cream for that
I love how Blizzard removes spells in some expansions and then adds them back a couple of expansions after and people see them as new.
Agh those transitions killed my ears >_< They came out of no where and were absurdly loud compared to dialog volume.
I'm loving the layout and content of these "is it fun" videos. Great work Bell

Doom: If Doom kills the target, there is a 5% chance to summon a Doomguard to fight for you for 25 sec.
Blizzard why?
Filip S Because it's really boring, the chance to summon the Doomguard is 1/20, the chances of Doom even doing any damage in anything other than raids or PvP are next to none, and the likeliness of it killing anything are very very low.
once in a lifetime lul
they either should increase the chance or make it if the target dies while it has doom on it other than that it is pretty shit compared to the others
May as well make it a base 0.00001% chance, even that'd be more likely than what it is right now.
You're right it's actually 0% cause there's no way it's happening ever.
Destruction will probably always be my go-to spec when it comes to PvP. Wizard cleave in S6-S7. Thunderstorm off the bridge, pop bloodlust, goodbye
still lower trhan MoP CB tho:( those crits aaaaah
After watching this past season, I would go with affliction. Plus with Darkglare being there...there is so much insane fun to be had.

Thank you once again. Your videos are truly improving every post.
I love it, demonology is way more fun now, doom is gone, it's now an optional talent I will never ever ever ever ever pick!
Mightylink doom wouldn’t be so awful if it either did damage as it went or blasted either earlier (shorter cd) or upon enemy death as an AOE.
i jiggled at the "new improvement" they added to doom "if doom kills an enemy, it has a 5% chance to spawn a doomguard".. wow.. how likely is this? a dot that does dmg once 30s after casting does is the killing blow to some enemy? if i actually want to bet on that i should start to gamble, cause winning with that is more likely

Andre Betita ya legion demo just kind of lined up better, while it may be more fun now it seems a bit more idk chaotic?
Yes, but it seems chaotic not in terms of theme, but chaotic in design. Which is not a good thing.
It should be noted that back in the Alpha, Deathbolt actually replaced Shadowbolt, didn't have a cooldown and would lower your DoT durations ala Internal Combustion
hey whats the best warlock spec for a low levels like 1 to 30? which is the best and most damaging?
Grimoire of Sacrifice is NOT the same. The new one also let's you used the sacrificed demons command demon ability. Shadow bulwark is a great ability because it gives you an extra 20% current and max health on a 30 second cooldown.
also something you failed to bring up is how warlock pets damage have been equalized so now it's just a matter if you want the cleanse, the tank, the interrupt or the charm. This is a big change and should have been covered
what addon do you use that keeps everything so clear on the srceen?
Started leveling warlock before BfA hits and both affliction and destruction were boring to me, but later I switched to demonology and it was a lot of fun seeing your enemies crumble under the wast armies of imps coming in. Most fun spec for me now.
What addon is it that stacks the nameplates of enemies and shows your dots like that? (not looking for an entire elvui overhaul)
What addon is that with the bars that count down? Someone help, I haven’t been able to find that anywhere
All DotS have scaled with Haste like that since the launch of Cata. Sounded like you were implying that this is something new in BFA.
How are demo and destro in PVE and PVP now after the nerfs? Can't decide whenever or not to use boost on warlock or mage (fire)
Is the felhound pet useful for anything? It's so cool
it interrupts on command
good and informative vid. can anyone tell me what addon(s) he is using for his bars and info pop ups?
Amazing vídeo as Always Bellular, could you please please please make a vídeo explaining the diference/comparing between Direct X 11 and 12 for BFA? Many people have questions about this (me included) Thank you a lot for the great content!
I haven't actively played my warlock since tempest keep in tbc.. Now it looks to be my main in bfa. Demo is awesome!
What addon for the Soul Shards is he using?
i was leveling a gnome warlock. Whats the point now that warlocks no longer need mana of having +5% more mana racial? Can i delete my warlock?
i really like warlock but i can never get into it. I'm struggling between maining a death knight or warrior
When is the shammy coming I’m going main shammy come bfa would love your thoughts
Hi, what addon do you use for your font?
From the amount of max Locks and low lvl Locks I see running around the game should get its name changed to World of Lockcraft.
or World of Warlock
The next expansion is called World of Warlocks: Battle for Azerite
Michelle .H so like paladians at the start of legion? And then warriors
As a main warlock since classic, i find that quite annoying
i dont think there are too many locks around, you just have the feeling it does, because it's easier to get to max level in modern wow, thus a lot of people will have twinks that are more or less well equiped. and as soon as warlock gets to be flavour of the month, a lot of people will tend to switch to it.and affliction did pretty well for over half of the addon.
Does anyone know the name of the UI Bellular uses? :)
What addons are you using for this video?
i still miss metamorph from demo
i dont think we will ever get BRF demo back unfortunately
GayForPsyHEART true but my main problem with it is how it was treated When it became a demon Hunter ability, it whent from epic burst transformation that rewarded good player's, to Nice looking cooldown buff.
my god chaos wave was so sexy. tis a shame
DHs can keep metamorph. Just give us back the effect of Glyph of Demon Hunting and let us have lock tanks!
i totally agree, that was one of the moments when i enjoyed my lock the most in the whole time ive played it
Actually, grimoire of sacrifice is not exactly the same as in Legion since it now, once again, grants you the sacrificed demon's ability as it used to before Legion, which is really nice.
Did I miss it, or did you fail to mention the use of Dreadstlakes? Summoning Dreadstalkers is the most important spell to keep on cool down because every time a dreadstalker fades there is a 100% chance you get a stack of demon core. You always want dreadstalkers up and fading.
Dudley he said use it on CD
Have any One 8.0 Demonology Macros?
Whats the dot timer addon called he has?
You should post your UI’s with these reviews. That’d make em perfect. I’d love that UI for my Lock. Good stuff though. Thanks
Thanks for the video. In the future can you increase volume of the parts when you talk? Had volume all the way up and you're still so low. Then the transitions come in and it's crazy loud. Thanks bro
So, let me get this right, you don't level as affliction because you have never decided to dot every mob in the area and complete any quest 10x faster than either other spec can achieve because they need to stop and cast to do damage?
justin randall You can't do this anymore you pull 2 mobs and die
Ya, they RUINED affliction this expansion. Bring back WOTLK style Blizz
Pvp talents make a huge difference too since they are usable even while outside of pvp and i love that
Insane Mang If you have War Mode on; then yes. Insta-cast call Dreadstalkers? Yes please.
Ryan McInnes i play unholy DK and i have three pvp talents that buff my outbreak ability and dear god does it work, im a walking plague lol
Do you have a ui/addon video at all? I real like the minimalistic ui
Andy Dyson I have been looking for it, I'm pretty sure he put one up a while back.
he uses elvui
I dunno I just had elvUI installed 2 days ago, it didnt look anything like that.
Please let us know if you find it, I been looking for it as well
It definitely is ElvUI, Probably also combined with some form of weakauras plugin (alot of mods can add that functionality.
Been playing only melee, how do you manage heavy movement? Can anyone guide me in that bit?
