    I have the Mantis and have made and installed an adjustable bridge, but plan on purchasing the Phantom just for the "cupping". I find that I stand or lean more than I sit. The Mantis, for which I have no complaints for comfort, does tend to ride up a bit. Still comfortable, but I'd rather it not ride up.
    Thanks for the comparison review!

    Thanks for the comparison. My wife got me a gift card for V-Day and I was gonna go right online and get a Mantis, now I'm going to wait until the Phantom is available to spend my money. Also can't wait to try it at the training day in St Louis in April.

    I hunted with the Mantis this past season as a first time saddle hunter, I had no issues finding that comfort zone to sit all day. The one thing I did was make a shorter bridge since I'm shorter than most and found that to help dial it all in for me ... so with the Phantom having an adjustable bridge is a great idea. It would be nice if Tethrd would retro fit the Mantis with an adjustable bridge for a small fee !!! wink wink .......

    I really want to get into this. Ita so expensive tho. And I'm a dig dude working on losing some weight. I still get around pretty good for a big guy. The starter kit with the platform is over 500 bucks. Not saying it isn't worth it because I'm like ready to buy. Its just so much money. I remember how much climbers changed hunting for us then ladder stands and lock on stands and then pop up blinds.. this is just that new thing that is awesome but is really expensive to get started.

    • @HuntAppalachia1
      @HuntAppalachia1  4 роки тому +1

      Yea I understand that. One thing about a saddle set up is it’s not like buying a tree stand. It’s like buying 20 tree stands. Being able to move around at such a light weight is incredible.
      It is an investment though and I understand being hesitant with the price.

    • @MikeyWoomer
      @MikeyWoomer 4 роки тому

      @@HuntAppalachia1 I can see the advantage of being able to move around so easily. Definitely easier than my climber. I'm thinking about just buying the saddle and playing around with that. Maybe then if I think its something I can do and enjoy I'll get a good platform.

And as popular as the hole saddle hunting is getting I think I'd be able to get my money back pretty easily between Facebook and Ebay, if I didn't like it anyhow. I like the looks of the phantom.

      I would try moving your tether around to different heights. Also move the locations where your bridge is attaching to your loops. See what is most comfortable to you with practicing. Also on the leg straps you can use the other attachment point with may help the ole sack. I personally rarely use the leg straps but I know a lot of people feel better with them on.

    • @HuntAppalachia1
