    Such a great idea... multifunction. working smart! Thank you for showing this machine. Most of my splitting is done alone and i considered a lift table design. I ended up looking into the Gorillabac 3803 log lift that drags the wood to my splitter, lifts it and holds it when splitting. Got one and would never go to anything else. Really lets me get wood up that I could not do before. The prime big wood and gnarly stuff that doesnt roll is easy to get and split. It fits on my old Dirty Hands 20ton and sons County Line 34 ton looks like it will fit most any horizontal vertical splitters. Really affordable and easy to install. Plus Made in the USA too.

      I'm glad you also have good results with the Gorillabac! I really like it. I've got some other videos showing it in use on my truck in case you were interested in seeing that operation. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Yeah the shorter tongs will help and worst case weld in a Dutchman in a clear section of that lift twords bottom. Plus if your worried about the weights bending anything on the back side from top to just above the swivel point weld in a quarter inch thick flat bar about a inch and half wide give or take to beef it up.

      @jimmieburleigh9549 Good ideas! I don't have a welder and have only welded once in my life, I dont have the skills or equipment to do that. That's one reason I like the Gorillabac,,, its ready to go out of the box! Thanks for watching and commenting!

    My setup is simpler. I built a 6×8 foot table. I fill it with rounds with the tractor. Roll them onto splitter, no lifting required.

      @thomasbunch8476 sounds like that works well! Thanks for watching!👍

    You have the wrong tongs for this,you need to get a set with three fingers on each side and grab the round on the side.

      @scottfoster2487 that's a great idea!
      My next video to be published is more of splitting with using the tongs, and I noticed how it is possible to pinch the tong between the wood and the crane-beam.
      Only downside I see to your suggestion is that I might not be able to swing the split-chunk out of the way as easily as with the factory anchor point of tongs of this design.
      Thanks for watching!

    Craptalpa, ugghh.
    Since you're experimenting, weigh a piece, mark it, then weigh it in a year
    Just take the tailgate off when loading

      @@brandonhoad9033 😆 I might do that! That "craptula" isn't in this video. I do have some "bonfire wood" customers,,, I might just bust it into big pieces and sell it cheap for bonfire wood
