Since I play the games (no sim) in my dynasty I think maxing skill caps and xp is most important to me. So I maxed out architect for all 7 positions (not kicker) so 224 points plus 15 to unlock Then 10 to unlock motivator and go to tier 3 for all positions for offseason xp boost for a total of 115 Start as tactician/scheme guru and put the rest of my points there. Ground and pound o is my jam I know I’m missing out on recruiting bonuses but it makes it a bit more challenging and you just max out whoever you sign. And big schools like Michigan/Bama/Georgia etc will sign top 10 classes regardless. So my advice is get recruiter coordinators if you want but focus on tactician/architect/motivator especially if you are a big school
I said this on another video but I started as a motivator & almost immediately went to the recruiter tree then wasted a few points in tactician which made recruiting & getting xp really easy now. But if I can go back I would start the same but I would get to architect ASAP. Architect is absolutely needed atleast the first 3 & I would go as far to say 3 for ALL positions cuz I’m the end skill caps are what really matter in this game & then I would go back to recruiting tree then ceo. Also my coordinators are really good too for some reason. I think I was blessed cuz I have an elite recruiter AND a scheme guru lol
I'm definitely going to use that strategy in my next playthrough. I'm at a small school right now, want a few championships and all that, but I have my coordinators taking head coaching jobs every other year. Is there a way to stop that or to maybe extend contracts a little sooner? Or is that something I just have to get used to. I mean the same thing happens in real life but I just didn't know if there was like some kind of contract extension deadline that I was missing.
My only possible issue I see with architect, is I end up having tons of elite or star players who never hit their max caps and still have plenty of room to improve. They might finish as a 88 in 5 years or whatever but not because they were maxed out. So I just wonder how much it would actually help me, it would only work for a few players and it would be making them go from a 94 to a 98 or something. Seems more effective if you're recruiting at a smaller school, but I could be wrong just my thoughts
@@LonghornsLegend I use Florida & im already a 4.5* program & although I’m only a few years in I haven’t had too many issues yet but the problem is the weak recruiting classes too. I’ve noticed the classes are strong or weak year to year just like IRL but I feel like they need to tweak something on their end with how the players progress. It seems like it should be a little different
@@justinsmith5405 agreed. I don't necessarily want a system like Madden where whoever spams a ton of stats gets super good, but right now I've got too many five star bust who haven't played in 4 years but are better than elite five stars who have played and won awards for years and still have room under their stat caps. It definitely needs some tweaking because I have all 3 coaches with motivator off season development boost
I've tested the CEO perk. Out of 35 prospects, I may get 5-20 4* commits. I reloaded the save multiple times to check the chance. 5 is the lowest I seen and 20 was the highest I've seen, but average was about 10-14 guys commit each reload. If I added 3*s I wonder if the number would've gone higher cuz I was a 4 star team. Also, I have gotten at least three 5* commits on the tests, however they were very rare. I'm talking 3 times out of maybe 20 reloads.
You're wrong about the XP boosts. You only get the archetype bonus for the active trait, which is the trait you buy the most skills for. In your case CEO is the active trait bc as soon as you buy it that overrides everything else.
I 2nd this. Don't waste coach points unlocking Archetypes you don't plan to invest more points into, because the only one that applies is the one on the left under your coach portrait; the "Active Perk".
@@djmtottwait what you mean. I have archetype and I seen my guys go up a lot almost maxed out. WR is the position and qb. My qb maxed out in one year throw for 5000 yards and like 28 td.
@smittyight "archetype" is like recruiter, motivator, tactician. Each one of them says it gives a bonus to XP depending on what you do. Only one is active at a time for that bonus. If it says your coach is a Recruiter, then you only get the XP bonus from recruiter. You still get the benefit of the skill you put points into. My point is don't spend points on archetypes like Strategist, just to get the starter box thinking that XP bonus will apply.
So far in my experience Motivation is at worse top 3 for me. The jump players get for me have been insane, especially if it’s stacked with your other coaches having it. Also I do like Scheme abilities. But personally I feel like it’s only worth investing if you’re doing a online dynasty for a edge or if your someone like me who enjoys doing dynasties with slow sim watching the games play out to switch things up. Otherwise at least in a offline dynasty where you’re playing against the CPU I feel you can live with putting those points into something else. Was also a bit surprise at you getting 20 players right way with instant commit. I been iffy on trying that skill out not knowing if it was with the grind and points considering it only say chance. Also for anyone else out in the comments who like to try and get the most out of points? Work as DC for Georgia. Their head coach have the perk on getting skills at a lower cost from CEO or just save your points using how good the bulldogs as a team to level, leave for a head coach job, buy CEO yourself and then hire top tier coaches and buy the same skills they have for a cheaper price.
@@skullcruncher7218 that is a good point about scheme guru, I often forget not everybody plays as many games as i probably do. Definitely loses value if you sim more than you play

I wish they let the coordinators do anything outside of the 3 starter trees. Like I wish I could go grab an architect OC paired with motivator who could be like the best player developer coaches, or like a strategist type with elite recruiter, would be fun to experiment and see all the potential combos

I did my first Dynasty as 4 star Iowa. I focused on getting to tier 4 for recruiting everyone but kicker and recruiting became too easy. I'm playing my next dynasty as 2 and a half star Boise State and want to do a no recruiting tree build this time. What archetypes would be great for this? (I would be fine with putting 25 in recruiter to get Talent Developer or the pipeline boosts in Program Builder, just no points in the Recruiter archetype unless it means unlocking Talent Developer.)
I think motivator is your best option, tactician gets more and more value the more games you actually hop in and play. But I think for smaller schools getting those xp boost from things like motivator is the best
