This really just highlights the question, how the hell did House Peake survive to the time of the Song of Ice and Fire?!

Simple the pick enemy's that where willing to show mercy. If they pull all that shit at the lannisters or greyjoy the peake would not exited a long time. But everytime they pull shit there a to forgiving persoon in charge of the throne.

Man, Prince Maegor really got screwed over, not just for his age but because of his name and who his father was.
Edit: Oh yeah, and had he been made king, everything from the Tragedy at Summerhall, the rule of Aerys II, Robert's Rebellion and EVERYTHING after that would have probably been averted.

1st to take the Black for House Blackfyre🗡
Loyal House Peake taking out a false king. Poor Prince Aenys Blackfyre seemingly did everything good and right.
    Happy Blackfyre Friday.

@aegorbittersteel2154 man come on bittersteel how can you say that about King Maekar the man was a beast who survived multiple rebellions. Plus lets not forget who came from Maekar’s line. Aside from Jon snow and Daenerys there was also Robert,Stannis, and Renly who came from his granddaughter Rhaelle. If you ask me it was King Maekar who had the superior line over Daemon Blackfyre. Granted you still have hope with Faegon but let’s be honest he ain’t a Blackfyre. He must be a descendent of King Maegor II the rightful King who had this throne stolen by his uncle Egg.

@ryansteenburgh9896 I do like Maekar. I just like Blackfyres better. I hope you Young Griff is a Blackfyre best option.

@aegorbittersteel2154 All right I guess I can understand that especially since things just seemed to get worse for house Targaryen after Maekar even though Egg did try his best. I will say that if things turn out the same in the books like how the show ended with Jon Snow becoming I don’t want it and Daenerys going mad. Then I’ll officially become a Blackfyre supporter because at least it would be better than King Bran the broken who apparently had the best story.

Especially when you consider everything in retrospect. Had Maegor been put on the Iron Throne, maybe the Tragedy at Summerhall, the birth and reign of Mad King Aerys II, Robert's Rebellion and everything afterwards would have been averted. So just like how the Great Council of 101 AC doomed Westeros in the long-run to the Dance of Dragons, the Great Council of 233 AC doomed Westeros to what I just listed.

@@JediMasterZimhis too Young to Reign as King literally 1 Year old when the Great Council Happened also look like the Westerosi Lords don't want a repeat of tumultous Regency of Aegon III also theres still the threat of Blackfyre Pretenders lingering it Worse time possible for a Babe king to Rule so Aegon V is the only possible legitimate candidate to become King.
1.) Prince Maegor is a Toddler.
2.) Daenora is not only a Woman Westerosis Lord don't want a Reigning Queen but she is also a Simpleton not ideal Reigning Monarch.
      3.) Blackfyres are Traitors.
And Finally Aegon V his in right Age but also Aegon is Experienced Knight Aegon also have a Wife and Fathered a Children so theres no problem in case the Monarch suddenly Immaturely Died Aegon has plenty Heir.

I think there must have been another reason why so many lords were unwilling to accept Aegon as king, rather then just his unconventional youth. I suspect Bloodraven may have exaggerated the discontent, in order to draw out any disloyal lords or Blackfyre sympathisers and then arrest them along with Aenys who he knew would be attending. The fact that it was held in the capital, Bloodraven had most of his Raven's Teeth and the Gold Cloaks, rather then a more distant location where he didn't have strength makes me almost certain that the doubt of Aegon's claim was exaggerated.

the line that gets me in the twoiaf is this
"His rule was also quickly tested by those whose affairs he had meddled in too often as a prince,
attempting to reduce their rights and privileges."
thus far from what we know from dunk and egg he's not really done much of this, well because he's a child, so he must have done something or tried to do something quite big in the years between dunk and egg and Maekar's death for enough lords to be that pissed off at him. I think the only way we'd ever find out is fire and blood 2 at this point.

What I really don't understand is the relationship between Bloodraven and Aemon at the wall. Were they in cahoots about "The Prophecy"?
Only a "true" born, not a Blackfyre at any cost? A very tangled web has GRRM woven and it would appear that he has also trapped himself within that web.

    • @WorldOfWesteros
      @WorldOfWesteros  3 місяці тому +1

Honestly i'd never really thought about the relationship between Bloodraven and Aemon while at the watch. They would have spent years together and must have talked about this such as The Prophecy. definitely worth looking into. Nice Catch.

Yes he would have been King Maegor the great. He would have brought Dragons back where his uncle Egg failed. He would have a created golden age for house Targaryen and been as unstoppable as his namesake Maegor the cruel and Daemon Blackfyre in combat. Yes I know this is headcanon but one can dream.
