- Arguable when looking at the history of the reign of King Maekar Targaryen, it is in truth the story of his youngest son Aegon, who would be known in the history books as Aegon The Unlikely due to the fact it would take an extraordinary series of events for the fourth son of the fourth son to become king. With Aegon's unconventional upbringing as a squire to the legedary hedge knight Ser Duncan The Tall, The rise of King Aegon V would set the stage of the final era of Targaryen rule in Westeros and for the events of the main A Song Of Ice And Fire Books.

I think it would be neat if in some future adaptation featuring Egg or perhaps even in Fire & Blood Vol. 2 he says something similar to that when mocked for being "half a peasant" by the other lords.
I could definitely see that being some sort of line in f&b2 or s future dunk and egg story. Im curious as to what happens with the tv show after the finish the three books

Egg is great after seeing that Blackfyres and their supporters are people too I wonder if he could have worked something out with Prince Aenys Blackfyres.
Egg probably would have yeah. If Aenys wasn't picked to be king Egg wouldn't have had him killed. Because by then Egg had a more nuanced take on the Blackfyre Rebellions after spending time with Ser Eustace and knew that Bittersteel wouldn't stop rebelling, Egg most likely would've brought Aenys back into the realm and restablished House Blackfyre to keep the peace at least with some of them. Aenys afterall was the heir of Daemon Blackfyre and not Bittersteel.
I think it would be a neat scenerio where like Egg offers pardons to some of the exiled lords. Bittersteel of course would've declined but perhaps like half of the Golden Company would've returned home and left him behind
@@Spongebrain97 Exactly plus Prince Aenys and the Golden Company members that came back could have become a base of support for Egg.
And then Egg also became obsessed and Summerhall happened. The dragon dreams are really bad news for those who have them and don't understand what they are. "Jeez, I need a dragon or wildfire, dunno why exactly, just gotta keep trying to get three Heads of the Dragon!" Ooops I went bat shit crazy!

I think The Hedge Knight tv series all hangs onto the casting of Duncan. I always get a sense that hes what we think a young Ned Stark was like. Honorable, smart, loyal, and a warrior.
In my headcanon, Egg & Maester Aemon’s upbringing mirrors what we see later in the play of Robb & Jon, playing legendary heroes like Daeron the Young Dragon & the Lord of Winterfell.
Even though his grandfather was a usurper, that stole the throne from the true king Daemon I, egg Is one of my favorite kings. A knight of the seven kingdoms is what made me start the main series. Great novellas.

Are you insane we all know egg stole the throne from his nephew Maegor. The son of Aerion Brightflame the greatest dragon who ever lived. Now he could have great as the first Maegor.
@nightman1790 King Daemon Blackfyre the 1st was an honorable charming and skilled warrior who seemingly didn't even want to rebel. The Sword was important, but it was also about who he was as a person. If Bittersteel or Bloodraven had Blackfyre, I don't think as many would be pushing to make them King.
@aegorbittersteel2154 while I do agree that Daemon Blackfyre did have all of these traits. Didn’t Baelor Breakspear share these qualities as well. He may not have been described as a Valyrian god like warrior like Daemon but I would say he was definitely the better man. Even if he got head smashed.😁
Wasn't sure how i felt about egg as king. Looking at it after a while i definitely think he was a real progressive leader. Letting blood raven keep datk sister and disssuading the practice of incest felt to me he wanted his house to assimilate fully into westeros instead of hanging onto their looks or personal power.
By this point from aegons point of view the Incest had no true purpose anymore other than clinging to past glory , from a objective standpoint it makes sense to distance themselves from outdated beliefs but as aegon soon found out Targaryens are going to Targaryen whether you like it or not.
He was loved by the small folks so that made him a good king of the people. Him trying to end the incest was helping make the Targaryens be closer to Westeros and give the other houses more influence.

I have some big plans for Bobby B, but it's gonna take a while to cook. i defiantly plan to redo Aegon i, Aenys and Maegor, while i work on that as they were the first videos i made and frankly my audio has gotten way better and i was not using my own map plus i kinda rushed though them and could go into much more depth.
