Since she teaches bushcraft in the UK, I am curious to know how difficult that must be for her given the fact that fixed blade and locking blade knives are illegal and so is any slip joint knife over 2.75". I have heard there are certain very strict exceptions if you can prove that you have a legitimate need for them (and I thought this commi state I live in is bad).
I'd have to ask her. From all of the pictures I've seen she's been using flint scrapers. But who knows. I can try to remember to ask her next time I talk with her.

UK guy here, you can own most knives over here, as long as not flick knives, switchblades, gravity knives or knuckle duster knives. You can carry your camping knifes, axes, machetes etc to and from work, or your camping trip etc. You cannot carry a weapon for self defence, but as working tools,it's OK. Hope this helps.

I understand that you are making assumptions about my understanding of what it takes to get a PHD, or to convince a school to invent one. If she said she had a PHD in Archeology, or something similar, and did here research on prehistoric tanning of animal skins, well maybe. But to have a PHD in prehistoric animal skin tanning, seems a bit,,,,, I don't know how to say this,,,,,, silly. Couldn't that value be brought as specific study within the larger picture of Archeology?
