Brilliant Sandy….far and away the best outdoorsman UA-camr. Looking forward to seeing Carmen join you on an adventure soon. Best wishes to you and family. 👍
That looked so chilled and relaxing, tho chilled may not be the right word, did make me laugh, one minute youve a hat on to keep your head and a jacket, next shot a Tshirt. Great stuff Sandy.

Lol … Brilliant camp Sandy, well done mod on the tent and the stove rocks… I really like the dimensions, come to think of it that stove can heat up any size type 🏕 💪👍🤔 Hardy meal 😋you look very comfortable, nice and warm!! Coffee & bacon, perfect! Please don’t forget your gloves, see you on the next one 😉 You did good✨👍✨
The wood stove is a game changer Amante, to be warm and cosy in deep winter with the wind howling and snow flurries in the air is an absolute joy. It is really nice to be so warm when outdoors
Always nice seeing people enjoy our wild areas with the respect nature deserves. Hot tenting, as it now seems to be called, is becoming quite popular with youtubers nowadays, home comforts in the wilderness, might as well stay at home lol, takes some of the experiences out of camping in nature in a shelter, kind of defeats the object of Wilding. At least you enjoyed your time out mate. All the best to you and your family Sandy.
All the best to you to Paul, The stove is a game changer as I see it, it will enable comfort to be obtained in the most severe of cold weather, weather that would keep many at home but quite the contrary, the stove enables one to be out and when cold and wet to retreat to the shelter and warmth of a heated shelter, this also allows wet cloths and belongings to be dried. At certain times of the year moisture will just accumulate unless you have access to a heat source. Stove all the way:) Sandy
@@WiltshireMan Yes Sandy you are correct, my mindset is still quite youthful I think and I still rough it outdoors to test my resolve but at our later stages of life the warmth of a wood burner is comforting and useful I do concur.
You’re a man of many talents Mr W, can i please send you some of my old socks for you to repair😉? You certainly live like a king in the woods, looked lovely. Big 👍
I like your modified Polish Army poncho and thanks for the video, Sandy. I have not graduated to a hot tent yet but have lived with wood stoves and campfires most of my 78 years. As to fire lighting (don't do this at home) it is a dangerous practice...I use a little diesel fuel or kerosine laced with a dash of methyl. Always ignites with a spark from the ferro-rod. Not something to use around your storm lantern though. Love those pheasant and owl sounds in the background and the stew looked good too. Happy camping. We always enjoy your videos.
Cheers Frank, Yes I can imaging diesel and meths would work well:) A heated tent makes a world of difference on a cold Winters night in a draughty old woodland:)
A lovely camp. Any more kit and you'll need a couple of Sherpas to lug it for you. Those hurricane lamps are great, it's surprising how much heat they push out.
I like your new stove, and mods you have done on lavu, I once made curtains for the caravan so may dig out the sewing machine from the loft and have a go. Good to see you in the woods again, made me feel hungry 👍👍.. Atb Tom..

It looked like it got a bit hot in the lavvu, well done take care and best to Mandy.
Hi Paul The Lighthouse lantern is fantastic, I love it, infact I'm thinking of buying a bigger one for winter use and keeping the smaller one for lightweight outings. They are brilliant pieces of kit, hope you and yours are doing well and I'll pass on your wishes to Mandy
Really nice video, makes want to go out for a night or two next week! The stove looks great, maybe put some € aside and get one just to make the Mrs. mad 🤣 Stay safe and healthy my friend!
brill vid Sandy and very nice set up you got there 👍 the only thing missing was 'Chug' parked up in the background 😁 Can't wait to maybe see you camping in the dead of winter with the stove going and being as snug as a bug in a rug 😎 take care and have fun 😊
I brought a polish teepee years ago (Your fault sandy, I was just searching for poncho reviews!) I modified it with long zips along the buttoning sections and zips in the arm holes. So it can still be used as two ponchos. Getting the alignment correct to allow the zips to line up in both configurations was the tricky bit.
Lavvu is coming along nicely Sandy. And your stitching's not as bad as mine mate I can tell you. Excellent video again, thanks for taking us along. Regards
Ahh you did a cracking job of the sewing Sandy, is there anything you can’t do? If ever you need any sewing help/or equipment etc, just ask, I’m only local to you 👍🏻 🧵 Cheryl.
Thanks Cheryl, I did get into a bit of a pickle on a couple of occasions with the sewing machine but now I know how to thread the thing up and wind the bobbins so it's not such a black art now, but it's still early days. I'm glad I've got a sewing machine in my life:)
Haa well having the sewing machine is a real asset but not sure I have the greatest of skills to use it, I think the key is practice, time and patience
I'm going to email the met office now and ask if they can name a storm 'Jinx' when or if they get to 'J' in the alphabet...I think we both know why. The skirt worked well, will you fix a zip to the door or toggles perhaps?
LOL secretly I reckon the call him before hand to check what weather he is going to throw at us, as for the door I am thinking of velcro, but it's important to have some gap there for air flow, Air in smoke out and I get to survive the night:)
Hey old buddy, you ought to look at a pulk to drag that stuff behind you. The Shappell "Jet Sled" I have can be pulled across the grass and most softer surfaces - hunters often use them to drag out deer. Mine is set up for winter travel, over snow. I was wondering when you would get a sewing machine and join the rest of us out here in that madness. I was just sewing today, making modifications to a set of wool bibs. The Lavvu looks great, good job. I often wish I had a Lavvu setup myself, but when the madness hit, they all flew off the market quicker than you could say rocks n' blocks.Which size did you get? Oh well :-) It was good to see the old Army bergen out as well - almost thought you forgot about it for all that new fangled kit. All the best.
It's so satisfying to see someone local that knows what living really is. Thanks for uplodading this.

I watched you prepare the food and I was waiting for the others to arrive but they didn’t so I guess you had to eat it all.
The stove looks great, maybe put some € aside and get one just to make the Mrs. mad 🤣
Stay safe and healthy my friend!
Go for it and and whilst your at it make a video, I'll watch:)
Just need a couple of dumplings!👍
Maybe next time:)
brill vid Sandy and very nice set up you got there 👍 the only thing missing was 'Chug' parked up in the background 😁
Can't wait to maybe see you camping in the dead of winter with the stove going and being as snug as a bug in a rug 😎
take care and have fun 😊
I expect there will be more Chug and Strom videos when the weather is nice David:)
I brought a polish teepee years ago (Your fault sandy, I was just searching for poncho reviews!)
I modified it with long zips along the buttoning sections and zips in the arm holes. So it can still be used as two ponchos. Getting the alignment correct to allow the zips to line up in both configurations was the tricky bit.
I have a lot more respect now for people who can sew, it's not easy:)
@@WiltshireMan oh, I can't sew Sandy. I just have a machine that can!
Another fantastic video....
Lavvu is coming along nicely Sandy. And your stitching's not as bad as mine mate I can tell you. Excellent video again, thanks for taking us along.
Regards
I enjoyed using the sewing machine but it's not one of my strong points:)
Such a nice video, I enjoyed very much.
Thanks Roni
Ahh you did a cracking job of the sewing Sandy, is there anything you can’t do? If ever you need any sewing help/or equipment etc, just ask, I’m only local to you 👍🏻 🧵 Cheryl.
Thanks Cheryl,
I did get into a bit of a pickle on a couple of occasions with the sewing machine but now I know how to thread the thing up and wind the bobbins so it's not such a black art now, but it's still early days. I'm glad I've got a sewing machine in my life:)
Great video and that stiching looked pretty good to me I think we will have to watch out for you on the next series of sewing bee 😂
Very nice video there brother.
Oxforkshire, how's your drone?
@@WiltshireMan Uploading a video now, should be viewable in about 5 mins., it's okay thankfully, it still flies and does what I need it to do.
If you can get your hands on a Polish tipi they are well worth getting and doing this mod, so much more room.
I really enjoyed that. I've got an old vango force 10 cotton fly sheet. Eventually I'll get a similar stove and hope to make hot tent setup.
Go for it Myles, a hot tent is a winner especially in the cold weather
I would've had a little giggle if I'd pulled that carrot out of the bag too. Great video as ever.
I'd noticed he had a little thought as to how he'd place it on the table near the two onions, and opted for the least smutty option!
