- I'm very pleased with my new DJI Neo drone, It seems the technology of these smaller drones is really moving along now.
New Schwalbe Tough Tom tyres are also a winner and also have K guard fitted so hopefully punctures will be few and far between. Fingers crossed!!
Stew and a drink always better when you’ve been out in the fresh air couple of hours on your bike 🙂

Another great video Sandy. The tires did very well and should be a fantastic replacement for the old ones. I am certain that you will continue to give them a thorough test in the future. And a very beautiful route that you picked for the test on the tires. A little bit of everything there except clean, dry, and hot pavement:) Also I believe that your new Neo drone will be a very welcome addition to your video equipment. And it has already been tested and certified to be "Andy Proof" by your brother Andy. If he can't break it, it should last most people a long long time LOL! Andy is hard on his drones, the little Neo has proved itself worthy though and does a good job at the close in work.

I'm going to look into that harder compound tire. My 29er sounds like my Jeep rolling down the road. Always great content in your videos Sandy. Fun days ahead.
The Tough Toms are quite cheap Jim and not tubeless but do seem to roll just a bit faster
What a beautiful peaceful journey around the countryside. I love the way the landscape and weather feels like home even though I have never been there.

It’s a great time of the year to be cycling through the woodlands enjoying the Autumn colures and also to ride the Himalayan , I thought the Sammy miller museum was fantastic Sandy i will be going there next spring that’s for sure, Ride safe🚲🏍️

Hahaa, yes and hopfully the K guard will keep them puncture proof. I got around 1600 miles on the old tyres which had quite a soft compound, not sure how long these will last but they were not expensive.

Good ride. It’s surprising how different tyres can affect the way a bike rides. I think people sometimes underestimate this factor. Lovely scenery and nicely shot with your new drone. Thanks.
The country code is to use the existing path through puddles not cause erosion by going around. Kudos Sandy for ploughing through 😊👊

Tomorrow I am cooking chicken tarragon in the slow cooker and will serve it with crispy baby roasties in a bowl with some veg , kind of stew 👍 great video Sandy makes me want to get back out in my mountain bike , next year I am going to do some moto camping , any luck with that hilleberg akto? Hi Sandy, you certainly work hard for us, you obviously do some pieces at least twice as you have prepositioned a camera then you have to retrieve it. Thanks for this vid, interesting about the tires, you do your own wrenching.
Theres a fair amount of work involved David but I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it and it keeps me fit too

Its certainly on the turn weather wise Sandy. Think ill have to dust off my slow cooker and get the stews on here too. Got my fingers crossed for some nice cloud inversions and foggy mornings in the next few weeks.

The drone is awesome, it seems to dance around a lot but the footage is very stable. It gets the shot:)

A long time ago Sandy I seem to remember reading a work by a cycling poet or maybe a poeting cyclist (?) ..(poss. American) who observed that the top of his rotating front wheel marked his hurried advance towards his true love. In your case, not only towards Mandy but your hot stew and beer! All well deserved after enduring such conditions, and the views were wonderful.
Thats a nice way to look at it. Yes each revolution was getting me closer to home, I actually was beginning to cool down a bit and didn't eat much before I went out, so the Stew and beer was something I was very much looking forward too :)

Mandy is fine thanks but could be better. I used to enjoy flying but feet now staying on the pedals :)

Did you have dumplings in that stew Sandy? I remember my mum (step) telling me she made dumplings like cannon balls, but my dad always made the best ones 😂 Good hearty meal there. That mud was a bit tough going...but thats our winter norm. Do love a castle and the Fort looked even better with the drone flight...gave more perspective. I could rough it in that estate house if I had to 😂

I do love flying my drones and eating stew and drinking beer :) As for dumplings, no this time but they do make a great addition made with real suet.
With BlackRock poised to buy up huge swathes of farmland, due to farmers facing unprecedented tax demands on Capital Gains relief when handing farmland down to their next generations, so being forced to pivot by selling off parcels of the land in a fire sale, l would try and keep this footage for posterity, as that landscape that has remained unchanged for hundreds of years, may be about to change beyond all reasonable recognition.👍

Good luck Sandy with hosing and cleaning up the bike after that trip. I wouldn't have said that was the cowards way round those puddles...more like sensible. Also, I am usually suspicious when I hear of a remote "reservoir" sited far from any possible housing it could be serving. Is it actually an old ROC bunker, I ask myself? Good filming as usual and 73.
There's an old ROC bunker close by, I think the reservoir serves the local farm, it's not big enough for anything else
Thanks for the video! I am very interested in knowing if the dji neo can be used for someone not having a smartphone. Can it be used without having to first connect it via a smartphone app, and can it be used without having a smartphone with you?
Hi Bjorn, Yes and No. First it needs to be initialised via an app and this needs to be done only once, then every time afterwards you can operate it without a smart phone. But the phone adds more usability, you can alter the perimeters of what the drone does for example, Follow close, medium or far distance, follow at low or level or higher height etc also you can use it with a controller, one of the DJI controllers has a built in screen which means no smart phone, but then ofcourse you have a smart controller and the drone it's self is also quite smart, they all rely on GPS too.

Surprising what a new pair of tyres can do for a bike. That will certainly allow you to clock up a few more miles on an outing. I noticed your brother had a job to fly his drone over water. Have you noticed this with yours?
The sensors can "See" the ground from about 30 ft Andy and when over water they get a confused image due to reflectivity of the surface. Its fine over water provided your above 30ft

Hi, did you use your new drone to the high level shots of the Fort. Just to let you know we love watching your videos.
All the high level was filmed with my Mini2 4K drone but the Neo would have done that too if I had the controller for it. The only drawback with the Neo is it's lightweight and two axis gimbal, it won't be great in the wind but is a great personal drone for close in work

@@WiltshireMan yes that's the one. it's such a shame that it gets like that (at that gate, and earlier when you cross a stream) as for me it's a fantastic way to get into and round/across Swindon, but when it's that muddy it's not worth me trying. The bit after the gate you went through is very overgrown too.

No not tubeless and easy to remove. I think I'm old school, tubless is probably better but I've never tried them and what you've never tried you never miss.

I just got the drone and one battery, not too expensive and will do what I want for now. I also have a Mini 2 4K which is my main drone but doesn't have the follow functions of the Neo

Yes the DJI drone is better, it has a 4k camera and more usability overall, Longer battery life really next generation on from the HoverX I would say
Is it worth spending over £300 for that follwme drone?
that depends on the individual and if you need those shots. You can buy the drone with just one battery for £169 which is what I did
What handle bars are those?
Not sure, similar to Jones bars, Planet X have them in stock I believe
