Same as in Thailand where most buildings (residential & office) have spirit houses in front of their premises. Pagan worshippers believe in guardian spirits to protect them.
Thank you once again for taking us along with you on your advantage. So fun watching you guys have fun as a family. The kids are awesome, they have earned the bragging rights to their friends that they ate insects. 😄👍👍👏👏👏👏
I remember back in the 70s, I'll often see an old lady selling a kind of sticky syrupy candy along the roadside or the old man with the show cart where you pay a couple of cents. Yes, one cent!!! 😄 or two to watch a short film he played in his cart. I can't remember what it's called. Old fashion snacks sold along roadsides. Well, they're no longer seen today. When I see countries like Cambodia, it kind of reminds me of those days. Great vid! 👍👍
@@limchyehock6722 My aunt ran a kopitiam and the old man often came by for his meals. She didn't charge him full price and in return, I pay a token sum. A bowl of noodles in school cost 20 cents at that time. Ha, can't get that now. 😄
This summer I was in one of these floating villages : Kampong Phluk. Your trip reminds me everything I could live and love of that place, with a sunset on the Tonlé Sap. Unforgettable. I'll go back but during the rainy season 'cause I really want to see this village I visited with no road nor path, just boats. It's really difficult to picture that main street with all the life occuring (bikes, games, stores, ...) covered and submerged by 5-meters high waters.
It's a very special place for sure. We said the same thing about waiting to go back and see it all under water. It is very hard to imagine how life's like there. I feel seeing it without the water gave me an appreciation for just how tall the homes are and how high the water gets.
