singapore's wild west - monster lizards // migratory bird trail, sungei buloh wetlands reserve
Sungei Buloh is one of our favourites places to take our time and nature spot. This wetland reserve boasts wild crocodiles, but don't come just for them!
We spent a joyous 4 hours walking around the migratory bird trail, looking carefully for creatures big and small. We saw so many interesting insects when we got down low and looked at the floor and railings. We saw the largest monitor lizard we have ever seen, close to 2 meters long and so wide!! An amazing sight to see.
We didn't do so well on the bird spotting front but we enjoyed spending time in the hides looking for them anyway. We kept our eyes closely trained on the water to catch a glimpse of the fish jumping out of the water!
Come and walk this loop of the wetlands reserve with us.

singapore’s most underrated island getaway in the heart of nature // pulau ubin
Переглядів 4,5 тис.21 годину тому
Pulau Ubin - one of Singapore's little islands that you can take a small boat to. It's a bit like going back in time to what I imagine kampong Singapore was like. There is one restaurant and a few little shops. Hire bikes line the only street and for $6 you can hire a bike for the whole day and explore this beautiful untouched island. Cycling through tall trees and past disused quarries now fil...
singapore’s best mall? // food, unique shops, craft activities, a bowling alley AND an arcade!
Переглядів 3 тис.14 днів тому
There are so many shopping malls in Singapore and after you've been to a few it does feel like you've been to them all. BUT I think I have found a shopping mall that's more than just shopping and food, of course it has plenty on offer for those things too. Somerset 313 has many other options for things to do including a bowling alley, an arcade and several craft shops with hands on activities. ...

    Water’s close enough to touch! I do love the swelling tide-gives a different mood to the mangrove, and you really get a sense of the hydrological dynamics of such a large body of water when it’s tidal like that. Hi guys... After 6-7 years in SG only Jonty still have the thick british accent amongst u guys considering his parents n him were born here. Was it deliberate? Did he teach in a international school or public

    • @WONDERLUSTworld
      @WONDERLUSTworld 9 днів тому

      Hey, I think the children's accents have changed a lot with them being younger, their brains pick it up more. We also find when they learn a new word they seem to learn it in the accent it was taught to them in. So they have a mix of local and American sounding words now. It's quite interesting. We have a mix of international and local friends, we both work in an international school. Jonty's accent tends to become more local depending on who is he speaking with. He spent most of his childhood in the Uk so I guess that's the accent that has stuck.

      @@WONDERLUSTworld but weird thing is when we migrate to foreign countries, we suddenly talk in their accent in just 2-3years. My aunt, cousin n brother moved to goldcoast, holland n usa.. i guess they find its high class accent😅

      We’re noticing Milo’s is starting to change, also more depending on who he is spending time with too. He has a few American friends. Aspen’s was the first to noticeably change.

      Those cats were so funny! I'm not sure what they were arguing about. Did you catch the auntie spraying them with water in the background of Jonty talking? Seems like a common thing as she was prepared haha This little island is so worth a visit if you get a chance.

      back then the obs was on the right side of the island , there used to be no paved cycling paths, no public toilets . Some of the houses in the kampung are still occupied, you get to use water wells for your water. Need to register at the police station at the jetty point. Night time there ain’t public lamp out there , its total darkness. Also there is one old comfort cab running there , any local pickup you can hitch a ride with a small fees

      They have more rugged off road biking trails too but we haven't don't them yet and feel we'd need biked with better breaks and gears to tackle them. The restaurant is still there. I think we ate there once a long time ago now.
