Honestly so many people have ur saying about bad experiences in Cambodia. We have no filter we will say it how it is i hope it helps people in the future ❤️❤️
Think Cambodia is bad? Then you better stay away from the Philippines and India. They’re many many times worse. But the fact is, you can get scammed and mugged anywhere in the world. There are even pick pocket groups that work the streets of Niagara Falls, Canada during tourist season. Try not to stick out as a tourist with huge backpacks. Travel minimalist and light with a bag only about 45 litres, AT THE MOST. In drab colours. Don’t stick out. Don’t wear jewelry. Don’t flash money and expensive phones. I travel now with only a 21 litre dark grey Minaal Daily, and dark grey 6 litre Osprey cross body sling bag. Even when going for months in south east Asia. I’ve never had a problem.
Especially Thailand is always creating more places to explore! Bangkok street food to rooftop bars to dining by the river and they have probably the most diverse public transportations in all the ASEAN cities from motorcycles, boats, grab, taxis, Buses, Subway, Skytrain, Tuk Tuks Vans for larger groups and next year monorails!
At least Cambodia's visa terms are more lenient than Thailand's. The idea seems to be to attract millionaires, rather than those with a normal retirement income. Millionaires expect to rule the roost. They will never agree to the terms that Thailand wants..
It reminds me of my trip passing the border in 2009. I had to pay 50$ for a private car to Seam Reap to get away all scammers. It took 4-5 hours to get there because the road was under construction. In Sean Reap I also had to pay in dollars almost everything even tuktuk 3$ for a short ride and 10$ for a longer ride. You know what I will never going back that border again.
Damn barbaric scammers, glad you are OK, not gonna lie, I know there are also scammers in Thailand but at least the Thai cops are trying to deal with this problem
@@OTWD_yt experienced it first hand the other day. From an agreed 10usd trip suddenly turned 40usd at the end of the trip with a random tuktuk driver. one of the way to not get tourist inflated rate is to book most of the thing online such as hotel and ride. For buying daily product like, toothpaste, deodorant...etc you should get it from a mart or supermarket, since everything there got a fixed price

My experience in Cambodia was ruined by a corrupt immigration officer. At the border crossing in Sa Kaeo, Thailand, I had no problems entering Cambodia. However, on my way out, the immigration officer raised his index finger. I didn't understand what he meant, so I looked up at the ceiling. He then cleared his throat loudly and insisted that I look at his finger. I was even more confused and asked him what he wanted. He whispered, "100 baht." I was furious because I knew that there should be no fee for crossing immigration. I loudly said, "100 baht for what? Last time I didn't have to pay anything." I said it loudly so that everyone around could hear me. He looked surprised and pretended to look around, then waved me away. Interestingly, even though I spoke so loudly and there were many officers standing nearby, no one seemed to care. It was as if what this corrupt officer did was normal. That will probably be the last time in my life that I will visit that country.

Safe travels.
Obviously you're not seasoned travelers as there is dishonesty and robbery in EVERY country. My point is that SE Asia workforce make only $250/300 USD per month. My guess is that most travelers make at a minimum 10 times to 20 times that amount. Indigenous people live literally hand to mouth on a daily basis. So on occasion they clip you for an extra dollar or two and you cry all over UA-cam about it. Do you leave a tip for the maid at your $10 a night hotel? or when you have good service anywhere? Most cheap tourists don't because it's not mandatory or expected. I can tell you however it is highly appreciated and they won't squander it on a iced mocha latte!!!

Inflation has made the Poor poorer. And more desperate that probably what this stuff happens. Just abit of advice for anyone coming now or in the near future ❤️
Hello. As someone who has actually been here before Covid and after it's a little more expensive but that's the case everywhere. Cambodia is a very safe city but crimes of opportunity does happen. Hanging a phone, GoPro or cash out and about will make you a target. Simple basic traveling tips apply, when traveling anywhere. Keep personal items close to your body. Have two wallets, one with a small amount of money for spending and another safely burried in a backpack or on you. The D's had a bad experience in there very sort time, but for the majority of people visiting Cambodia it's not like that. Plus if you have positive happy outlook you will get that back. If you think everyone is out to scam you, your will never be happy.
Please check ur tips and information before u share it with other travelers, Cambodian people are very friendly and kind, it's not there fault if they born poor or rich, u can see the most expensive cars in Phnom Penh streets, if u can't accept them, ur ur choice, but u can't share ur experience with other to get more UA-cam views, about poor people

The Cambodian concept of "friendly" is racist towards Vietnamese people and claiming the culture, land and dishes of other countries (Vietnam and Thailand)??
I think it’s so important to visit the places where terrible things happened to remind us and pay respects. It’s must have felt so strange being there. That TukTuk ride must have been so scary you really have to have your wits about you The hotel room looked really nice and what a great location xx

at 2:16 it was really subtle, but i think he is also a worker for that ride share app, and i think he said, "going back and forth its full" then pointed. Don't know what the context of that was.
The guy who was walking at 2:16, infront of the tuktuk, said and pointed his finger was telling the driver that someone need a ride back to Phnompenh. I've lived here in Phnom Penh for going in 6 years, and have never experienced the "negative" side of your experiences. Not everything is a "scam" and/or a "rip-off". It's actually quite a nice place to live.
I've spent considerable time in Cambodia also and cannot understand their view being so negative. Rip offs are very few although shifty immigration officials exist at the land crossings and a few tuk tuk drivers will try their luck but overall it's a developing country with an honest population. As a cambodian i've grown tired of hearing these excuses for dishonesty and theft, that others with goodwill tend to accept, more or less blindly: "we've just come out of genocide" (that was 50 years ago; weird grandma knows all about it). "we're very very poor people" (as if the rich don't steal). And this gem "we have no education" (as if honesty is acquired in some textbook). To balance out some of those jingoistic posts in the comments (my smile is wider than yours) there is a running cultural war among the 4 sister (hinayana buddhist) countries on mainland SEA, largely historical but also greed in the competitive international tourism market. The past 50 years cambodia has emerged from a war that her neighbours have helped stoked up or maintained for their own national interests, only to be torn up by get rich quick mentality now setting in.
I think these two White couple come to Cambodia to make Cambodia a bad reputation. The first tuk tuk driver the the authority tell him not to park there. After the museum visit the couple suppose to ride back with the tuk tuk. Instead of walking out to the first tuk tuk they get on to a second tuk. The second tuk driver lack English and phone tech so he hand his phone to riders to put the location go to. Cambodia phone system is not yet unify.

100% not go again 😭
So many scammers. They honestly make it hard to trust anyone in Cambodia

The man in a white shirt apparently harassing the tuk-tuk driver and told the tuk-tuk driver that he should have parked or dropped of the passengers on the other side. So he can collected the pity parking fee. This is Cambodian and corruption is in their blood.
Cambodians are the most friendly and beautiful people on earth.
Wait, so y’all booked another hotel for the night instead of a $15 bus ride?

I saw your comments on the Thai page, making many Thais laugh and despise the Cambodian people, but as I said before, I thank you and I apologize for the mistakes the Cambodian people have made to you.🥲🙏
@@sivleang3640 We can also share videos on UA-cam of thailanders scamming and beating up foreigners in thailand, then we can all laugh. Looks like these two have an agenda going on. Just because khmer people are not interested in defending ourselves doesn’t mean we aren’t aware of what others are thinking.

Oh yea, he was in on it. That city is unfortunately full of scams. Always has been.
Definitely ❤️
Actually watch your videos mate lol
And what God loving nation are you from with role model citizens and no crime?
I am Thai and I don’t want to travel to Cambodia yet ! Many Thai friends warned me about scammers there . You guys are very brave!! 😅
i think there are scams in every country. i was once closed to being scammed in bangkok by a tuktuk driver asking for $10 for a 10mn walking distance to my hotel, it was shown on the map but the road was block for construction so i don't know other way to go around it. i found another driver who was willing to take me there for 100 baht later on. in ho chi minh, i also experience a shoes polishing scam in front of independence monument, for $30. i gave him $2 and walk off
Hahaha same here
Do you think Bangkok safe so funny 🤣
@@Kylelongwest tuktuk and taxi are horrible everywhere in the world! Depends on the country if they have more or less dishonest taxi drivers. So I take Uber or GrabTaxi much better! Taxi drivers fooled me many times in Bangkok!
We don’t want racists here anyway
I’ll be flying to Cambodia tomorrow. Kind of nervous because of some scams. Yes I know there are good and bad people. But I hope I won’t get scam when I arrive in Phnom Penh tomorrow
Should be ok brother just had your wits about you don’t make yourself a target
I understand the feeling. I am Thai also welcome you and all foreigners. You love Thailand and we will love you guys too.♥️♥️♥️🇹🇭

What about if I do not love Thailand??

It is indistinct, but I think he says, "There are another two people". Presumably for him to take back to the city centre.
come back to Thailand 🇹🇭 😢 enjoy your trip
Coming back next week 😊❤️
So sad you have a bad experience in cambodia😥I'm cambodian and i never get scam in my life i live in cambodia for 24year now
It’s ok 👍
Very pleased that you visited our country, THAILAND. We hope you will be happy and come back again. We're not saying we're the best country. We have problems too. But at least we definitely have more good people than bad people. And we love tourists more than we can take away from them. If you need somebody help to travel in THAILAND you can ask me I can help introduce and no charge.
I Just to make sure you come to THAILAND and safetravel and Happy
We will be back in 1 week 😊
To be honest the tuk tuk driver doesn't show anything that robbed you both, maybe he lacks understanding in the language. I don't understand why you say he tried to rob you, it's very misleading and unfair.
He drove off with our money 😂
I explained everything to these people but they won't listen to reason. The driver had to break the 50k note so he left to break it, they obviously left the area before he returned. They rang pass app and the driver said yes he had their change and would return it. If the driver did steal their money he would have said no I gave them change. The whole thing makes no sense and is actually slander against the driver. Hopefully he will Sue them as it's a horrible thing to do to someone for a cheap thumbnail. This is a person with a family and these people only seem to care about making money off UA-cam.
@@BIGJED75 Agree with you, they just tried to be awkward. Their previous clip that they tried shouting to Tuk Tuk driver to go away without listen to him and this just with $2.
They are being dishonest with what they said on their UA-cam. I think that's more likely a misunderstanding than what she said in her UA-cam.
