Curry with cheese. I never would have thought of that. Now I want to try a sort of curry poutine hybrid. French fries with curry sauce and cheese curds.
"I heard there is a good restaurant here. Where is it Fuku? Closed. Fuku!!'. Yep, that would be my remark as well. The grilled curry actually seems 'broiled'; an overhead broiler to cook the cheese crust onto the bowl. This is vaguely similar to French onion soup.
I should know better than to watch your food videos before lunch, lol, but I enjoy seeing what dishes you regal us with! Am I the only person hearing the "Sunflower" song in my head now, lol?
Loved this video! Really nice trip! The food looked SO delicious, especially the grilled curry. My son would love that! AND THE NEW FERRY! I CAN'T WAIT!!! 🛳🌞❤
I live in/grew up in Seattle Washington. In the late 70s, a local movie theater showed the Robin Williams film "Popeye" as a double-feature with Galaxy Express 999 and everyone I knew (including me) got dumped at the theater to see both films and we were all, I think, somewhat traumatized by 999...we'd never seen anything like it! I sat right up today when I saw that manhole cover (I am in my 50s now).
Hi Solo Travel, I was looking for your recent 4 transportation journey in your other channel but the videos have disappeared?? Will you upload them again? I wasn't able to finish watching them. Your videos are really interesting and enjoyable. Hope to see more travels from you. 😄
Both the grilled curry and udon look amazing. I would even brave eggs to try the curry. Thanks for taking us all along again, and continued safe travels.
Thank you Solo San for sharing, I love your vids, I live in England, but from 2003-2009 I made 92 trips to Japan for my work and I love everything about it, thank you for making such great content and for your sense of humour. 🙏
All the food looked really yummy🤤 I appreciate the way you add your own captions rather than the generated one's because, when casting to a tv from your phone, you don't have to reset them. Thanks for taking us along!
That Grilled Curry looked divine...the Udon Noodles too...and how could Tempura ever be bad, some things are an acquired taste, you just have to try them a couple times...Thank you for taking us with you.
Wow magma potholes covers. How awesome. Thank you for sharing and sharing your country and the food. I thoroughly enjoy these videos as well. I also get excited when you say it’s time to eat. I can’t wait to see what you’re going to have. I pretend I’m there with you as the stalker from Australia that you cannot see. Ha ha ha ha Anyway thank you again forward to the next video.❤
Wow. Loved the manholes. Now I need to see the manga, sadly I don't think it will be in my local bookshop or library. I can dream though. Thankyou Solo Travel San ( and yes I'm now hungry and want to eat noodles)
Your food adventures are equally amazing and as always delicious to watch! Thanks for sharing it with us. Oh yes, looking forward to another Sunflower ferry trip...🤣😋🤩👍👍🥣🍳🥘🥗🍜
Have you ever thought about perhaps getting a moped or electric bike and doing a riding tour of Japan? Maybe go some places off the beaten track? Great video!! Now I'm hungry!! 🤣
I watch a lot of Japanese travel vloggers. Most show puny meals and eat like a bird. Makes this American feel like a pig because of the serving sizes offered here.. Lol. You actually show hearty meals and eat very well, and a lot of the time it would actually be to much for me to finish.. Before your channel, always figured if I visited Japan, I would leave a restaurant still hungry. You changed that concept. Thanks! 😉
My friend that grilled curry looked very delicious i wish restaurants like those would make their way to US seriously. I live in texas so not much of those to around. Anywho love your vids as always keep up the good work!
Also…. Sweet potato tempura is my favorite tempura. Second place goes to zucchini tempura. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen zucchini tempura offered in a food video from Japan. Do you make/eat zucchini tempura in Japan? If not, you should try it. It’s so lovely. I actually love any tempura made with squash/gourds…like yellow squash, pumpkin, butternut squash, acorn squash. When you coat them in batter and deep fry them it just brings out their natural sweetness.
Now I'm craving curry. While there are some japaneses restaurants where I live that do curry, I've never seen one that has grilled curry. I wonder if I could try making my own...
The grilled curry looked amazing. Have never eaten curry, but would have given it a try. Not too keen on trying blow fish though. Udon noodles looked good. Loved the manhole covers. Was going to say I was surprised that someone didn't steal them, but this is Japan . . .you don't have the crime that other places in the world has. Enjoyed this journey very much, will see you on the next one. Stay well, stay safe. 😊
That grilled curry with melted cheese on top is to-die for! I'd definitely go there someday. I love your videos always. Also, that very fast ferry ride made me feel sick. I'm glad you enjoyed it, nonetheless. Haha
I loved that anime as a kid. My dad said I watched it all the time. The grilled curry looked great but I don't know if I would be able to eat raw eggs.
It's all your "fault" - Now I'm on a quest to find a curry dish like this in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA! Not so easy... maybe one restaurant might have it, twice the price... For now. I'll settle for trying some S&B Golden Curry mix at home. 😄 Someday, I will travel and try the real thing! Thank you for all your wonderful travel and food videos, even if they often make us hungry! ☺️
@@joeslayter5841 I'm guessing the egg is placed on top then the cheese on that and the heat from the grill cooks the egg just enough. Plenty of recipes for this online and some do include the egg.

I ask because I’ve recently learned that in some parts of south east Asia they call the shave ice drink/treat Chendol and some places call it Cendol, both are considered correct and acceptable. Thanks to anyone who can/will answer my question! ✌🏻💕😊
Ok not being silly really trying to learn about Japanese food and culture. The curry that you eat looks like a brown gravy. Is that what it's made of. Lol every time I watch your videos it makes my mouth water 😊

I heard the "Sunflower" theme song in my head when you showed the new ferry. She looks beautiful!
*NOW I'M HEARING IT TOO!*
*NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
I need to buy that song…is it available on iTunes 🤣
😑
*SUNFLOWER! SUNFLOWER!*
Hahaha we all have been hypnotized by that song!
“I’m full.”
Of course you are! You had a full lunch and then another full lunch!! 😝
That grilled curry looks like the perfect lunch on a cold rainy day. Yum.

I love the fact so many Japanese restaurants totally blast Bebop Jazz on the stereo.

I can already hear the Sunflower song for the new ferry! ;)
That grilled curry gave me a recipe idea, I gotta try it!
Love Japan so much, it’s so clean, polite and not a lot of people and hopefully I can live there on the future
Well Done STJ, well Done 😄

oh that is gorgeous! both the curry and the manholes!
Where on earth do you put all that food! The Curry looks AMAZING!!!!

Cute Manhole cover. Isn't Blowfish toxic? Or am I getting my fish mixed up? Love your comments as you travel, Cheers.
It can be poisonous if you don't have a highly skilled chef or processor that doesn't know how to prepare it correctly.
Fugu is high in protein, low in calories and good for one's health. Looks good!💚

What was the last piece of tempura? The green one in the 1st dish with the sweet potato? 🎉
