Also the time period when Angels weren't losing fist fights to humans. Even Ruby wasn't going to stick around when it was mentioned that Angels were getting involved. And Lilith, one of the most powerful demons at the time, fled when she was told an archangel was gonna show up.
Right? I miss the times angels were this badass and a force in their own right. Now they’re more like cannon fodder. I’m happy to see this power again in Jack but he misses the fierceness and centuries of life behind him.
"you should show me some respect. i dragged you out of hell, i can throw you back in" cass won't give a sh*t. that was the moment i fell in love with cass😍
Viktor Genesys Wyatt probs cause dean was still kinda scared of him haha like if he said something and cas stared at him he would get that look that says oh fuck I just pissed off an angel
_Season 4_ Dean: Lucifer. I thought Lucifer was just a story they told at demon sunday school. There’s no such thing. Cas: Three days ago you thought there was no such thing as me. _7 years later..._ Sam: *bangs on door* LUCIFEEER! Sometime you're gonna have to come out and talk to... God! Luci: IF DAD WANTS TO TALK TO ME, HE CAN TELL ME HIMSELF! Until then, I'll be in my room. *I SWEAR THIS SHOW?!?!?*
I know right season 11 the last 2 or so episodes with the entire gang together; Lucifer, God, Rowena, Sam, Dean, Crowley, and special guest appearance Cas via Lucifer has got to be some of the strangest and most amazing shit i've ever seen. Dean and Sam literally played therapist to God and Lucifer who ended up solving their grievances with eachother in a single episode only for Lucifer to return the next season and go back to wanting to unleash hell on earth and end up having a son.
Casey: Lucifer was the most beautiful out of all God's angels and when God ordered him to bow down to humanity, he refused. How would you feel about bowing down to lesser creatures, Dean? 9 years later Lucifer: I had a rough childhood!
Love how Lucifer went from dark angel who wanted to bring forth the Apocalypse to "child with daddy issues". The new seasons aren't even terrifying or dark anymore, they're just meh.
I miss those long only-Dean-and-Cass moments :'( Now they're like "Long time no see." "Indeed I'm glad you're back man" "Ok lol bye" and then no Cass for like half a season...
"You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of Hell, I can throw you back in." So much power and intimidation that Dean witness in those words.
I really miss this Cas. I like the fluffy, dorky, sorta sad moments of the later seasons but this righteous badass definitely had his allure. It would be nice if the writers looked back at this season and incorporated some of this back into his dialogue, even though he's not as self-assured or antagonistic as he used to seem. Cause Dean certainly still has his childish moments, it's just that no one seems to check him anymore.
lnfreeman Isn't that rather difficult? I know Castiel kindof went off the rails when the show plan ran out at the end of season five, but his entire character development up until then is about him becoming more human. There would be no way to make the thematics of becoming less human again work.
Carinthium I don't believe badassery and humanity are mutually exclusive. And in my opinion the writers aren't always consistent about how Cas has changed. I was happy when Cas stood up for himself (in dialogue at least) in the second to last episode of this season. Seems to me he doesn't need to be a wuss to be human.
I do miss Cas calling out Dean. Don’t get me wrong- i love the current Cas, but Dean is really rude and says some pretty scathing and hurtful things to Cas sometimes, and Cas does nothing which makes me sad :((
I miss this Cas. But at the same time, this is the Cas who was fresh out the gate and pure angel. Unemotional and cruel. And because of his love for Dean, he became his own person. I just wish that while they had Cas adapt to favouring humanity, he still kept this badassery and power. The last time Cas scared me was season 6, when he shoved Crowley to the wall and said “I’m still an angel. And I will bury you.” And to Sam “will you? Boy?”
Gosh, remember when Cas was kinda terrifying? Like he can still be a badass when he needs to be now he is softer around the edges and more, well, human but back then he was this mysterious alien creature who didn't mince fuckin' words!
Kicking human and demon ass. Please he does that now without moving a muscle just as much, but he deals with far greater foes now. Leviathan, darkness, come on.
smiting a few demons in one episode which every angel can do and have done in every season like swatting a fly and getting his ass handed to him by Alastair twice before being saved by Dean then Sam, how intimidating indeed.
I miss this Castiel. Cold, clear to purpose. Almost mechanical like. Still love him now, but this version was my favorite. He didn't care about or cave to Dean's anger or opinions, even threatened to throw him back into hell for his disrespect. 😂
"You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell, I can throw you back in." Whew that line would send chills through me....I couldnt bear seeing Dean die and ended up in hell!
Best Line: "I dragged you out of hell, I can throw you back in", that line have me thinking, are you lucky enough to go to your ideal place? live and stay there? your dream place.
Castiel is seen as 'soft' now because back then he didn't know about free will, he didn't understand what humans felt. Now he is human and he's vulnerable.
i personally blame liberals and the gay agenda note i do love gays no hate but Angels are badasses......the current castiel is unsure of himself doubtful and missing God....
I miss when Angels still had this weird unsettling mystique, and were one of the most powerful things to ever walk earth. They were scary. And then they just turned them into punching bags for Dean and Sam, who were there to serve them and were easily killed. Just sad
I think this scene right here is the reason Dean has had an issue ever since with Cas and personal space. There are literally only a handful of creatures in the universe that can make Dean shit himself, and Soldier!Cas was one of them.
I always loved this moment in Supernatural history. The moment Castiel told Dean "You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in." That was some major intimidation, chills! and the way Dean reacted with the look on his face. Always wondered how the series would have turned out if Cas kept that spine of steel through out the series instead of being all limp and submissive joining the Winchesters.
I absolutely love the part when Castiel reveals what would happen if all the seals were broken and at the mention of Lucifer the intense eerie music drops which immediately gives people the sense of how bad this really is. I really miss these early seasons of Supernatural, back when they treated these entities with respect and care and really made them feel like an unstoppable threat.
It's been 11 years, and everything about this clip - from the dialogue, to the choice to have it be cast in shadows, and the background music - is perfect. I still get chills watching.
He smited what 3 demons in one episode(Just fly swatting for lower level angels) and got his ass kicked by Alastair twice where the Winchesters pulled Alastair off his ass both times.
People keep saying they miss old Cas but actually Castiel didnt change that much. Its just that we got to see and know Cas more by each episode. His personality didnt change 'that much'
Nah, he has changed slightly. He used to have that warrior personality in seasons 4-5 which made him a complete badass. I still love Cas, but he hasn't been the same since season 7 when he went all loopy.
Lysai Still love Castiel due to his constant shenanigans but right now Crowley would have to be my favourite. But I loved Misha as Lucifer possessing Cas. Some of the funniest parts of season 11.
Excluding Azazel of course? You have to remember, Azazel was the one that got the brothers and their father into hunting. He was the big mastermind behind bringing about the Apocalypse, before Lilith was even out of Hell.
Azazel did everything right, set the family into hunting, fed sam demon blood, got sam killed so Dean could sell his soul and break the first seal, got sam to be the winner, and freed tons of demons and Lilith
1:50-1:52 - This is the moment when Dean realizes he *really* shouldn't have threatened Cas because - let's face it - Cas could wipe the floor with him ... and then some.
Season 4: Dean: And you break the last lock? Cas: Lucifer walks free... *Suspenseful ambient music plays* Season 11: Cas: Lucifer is free! Sam & Dean: Meh.
Every time I need fanfic inspiration for a badass Cas, I watch this. Right here was where I fell off the cliff of rationality as far as my brain went with this character ^^ I do miss the stern soldier though, as others have pointed out.
Good lord Supernatural used to be incredible back then. But corporative greed ruined it avoiding the story to end in season 5 like it was supposed to. Maybe it would have been considered as one of the best series of all time.
Dean's body language was great. He went from confident and confrontational to subdued and intimidated. The little head turn at the end to tty create disrance from Castiel was a great touch.
And I think it was this scene. When we all decided we want him. We want to see more of Castiel. His attitude. Their interactions. Maybe more of them in the dark? But definitely more.
I really enjoyed Cass when he was still like this yea he didn’t consider them family or anything but he was powerful because later on once he started caring more and not following rule he started being more venerable and that’s what caused him to lose his powers I still like Cass now but I also like him then
The look on Castiels face at 1:32 was "oh my lord why did I get stuck with this fucking asshole....looks like I'm gonna have to put him in his place" *goes into scary badass mode* you should show me some respect I pulled you out of hell I can throw you back in.
I started dying from laughter when Dean interrupted Cas. Castiel: The Lord works Dean: if you say mysterious ways so help me I will kick your ass! Castiel: 😑😑🤷🏻♀️ Edit: 1:43
Back when angels were fierce and weren't dying a dozen at the time by demons. 6 dead angels were a big deal.
Dead angels were always a big deal to Castiel, though
Now there's only 11 left - give or take.
ImprobableDreamer Until they weren't. And suddenly Dean is all he cared about.
Also the time period when Angels weren't losing fist fights to humans. Even Ruby wasn't going to stick around when it was mentioned that Angels were getting involved. And Lilith, one of the most powerful demons at the time, fled when she was told an archangel was gonna show up.

the show should just be renamed to The Evolution of the Winchesters Beliefs

I miss those long only-Dean-and-Cass moments :'( Now they're like "Long time no see." "Indeed I'm glad you're back man" "Ok lol bye" and then no Cass for like half a season...
Half a season? Cas is in the show pretty frequently now.
This was a year ago bro
Mrabo007
Point? You can reply to old comments, man.
Townsy He was not frequently in the show back then. And you said it as if he meant in the show now. That's my point
Mrabo007
Oh, right. I thought you were saying because the comment was a year old I shouldn't reply. I'm not a smart man :(
"You should show me some respect" hell yes he should
Cass should've made a point, dragged his soul back to hell and back to his body again on a round trip to show a taste of what he can do to him
Well yeh he just did
actually heaven yes
Dean nearly shit his pants at that moment
Megan Owens ikr
My goodness ,cas was so terrifying in season 4.
Lady Kata Ikr
I miss this version of Cas
I forgot have punchable he was at first haha.
Now he's a huge dork who loves hugs.
This was my favorite Cas 😊🖤
season 4: im not here to perch on your shoulder, dean.
season 11: 'are you there cas?' 'of course!!!'
4:21 Cas truly intimidated Dean
Fast Forward 5 years, They bicker like an old married couple
"You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of Hell, I can throw you back in."
So much power and intimidation that Dean witness in those words.

I agree with that statement
You can still make Cas a badass without damaging character development.
*self-righteous blindly-faithful badass manipulated punk bitch
the moment at 1:50 when he realizes he just threatened an almighty angel who could so easily rip him to shreds or "send him back to hell"
rip him apart on the subatomic level then swallow his soul, shit it out and throw it in the deepest circle of hell he could reach.
Yeah, thank you for this visual discription, i always wanted Dean to imagine as angel poop
I do miss Cas calling out Dean. Don’t get me wrong- i love the current Cas, but Dean is really rude and says some pretty scathing and hurtful things to Cas sometimes, and Cas does nothing which makes me sad :((
I wish Cas would beat his ass like the earlier seasons
Like “nobody cares that you’re broken cass, pick up your damn mess”
@@nat3166 Castiel was so much more awesome when he could juggle Dean like luggage when he looked at him funny thats for sure.
@@nat3166 : That's one of the few times when I really hate/resent Dean. He really could be heartless and cruel.
Because he’s in love with him lol
I miss this Cas. Not enough to want him back but he was so self-righteous and it was interesting
I'd love for old cas to get stuck in the future
He didn't change much. He's still a soldier he just has emotions and questions everything. Aside from reapers of course

Dean also feared Death.. the original Death
"You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell, I can throw you back in." Whew that line would send chills through me....I couldnt bear seeing Dean die and ended up in hell!

I would've laughed my ass off if castiel would have snuck that phrase "god works in mysterious ways" even if dean said he would kick his ass if he did
Castiel: Do it, bitch, but don't break your foot. Ask me to heal your foot, then I'll break it for sure.

It cracked me Up when Dean said: Cass , get out of my Ass. Cass replied calmly: I was never in Your Ass. Priceless.
When Cas says "but you didnt" i can only think of that vine.
I always loved this moment in Supernatural history. The moment Castiel told Dean "You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in." I kinda miss badass warrior Castiel, I mean don't get me wrong I love the awkward nerdy angel he is now, but season 4 Castiel was just awesome
He smited what 3 demons in one episode(Just fly swatting for lower level angels) and got his ass kicked by Alastair twice where the Winchesters pulled Alastair off his ass both times.

Lysai I think he started getting back on track around mid season 8 but then he became human and has really adopted that humanity.
+Townsy Yup. Cas is no longer my favorite character
Lysai Still love Castiel due to his constant shenanigans but right now Crowley would have to be my favourite. But I loved Misha as Lucifer possessing Cas. Some of the funniest parts of season 11.

Back when it took it self seriously and was actually about the Supernatural, not the “Two Brothers and their friends who fight monster together” Show
1:48 God it’s like talking to a brick wall
am i the only one who lowkey misses when cas was a creature everything in existence feared
‘You should show me some respect’
and.. I fell in love
THE SASS COMING FROM CAS IN THIS SCENE IS SOOOOOOO FREAKING GOOD
This may be the hottest Castiel scene I have ever watched PeriodT
Cas is the only one who can rock dry lips
Back when Castiel and angels in general were actually strong
I love that everytime someone disappears, they make a point if looking around like they just moved slightly out of sight. Lol
and here, is STILL my most favorite scene and dialogue of Castiel. this is when I decided to name my future son after him
I think Lilith was the most effective villain in the show so far.
Excluding Azazel of course? You have to remember, Azazel was the one that got the brothers and their father into hunting. He was the big mastermind behind bringing about the Apocalypse, before Lilith was even out of Hell.
Mister Elexandre Yea but he was just following order from his boss, Lucifer.
+JKayification She was definitely the Hottest!
Azazel did everything right, set the family into hunting, fed sam demon blood, got sam killed so Dean could sell his soul and break the first seal, got sam to be the winner, and freed tons of demons and Lilith

Y'all are talking about old cas and new cas and I'm thinking 'wow he is so hot'
I kinda miss this Cas, the badass Cas, they need to buff him up a bit, they made him a little too pathetic now tbh, even though I still love him
Loved Cas and how his character developed through the years. He was so amazing and great acting by Misha
Season 4:
Dean: And you break the last lock?
Cas: Lucifer walks free...
*Suspenseful ambient music plays*
Season 11:
Cas: Lucifer is free!
Sam & Dean: Meh.
My godness high heaven Casteil is sooo hot and savage here like dayyuummmmmm

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the Castiel we have now but dammit I wish he'd show this side of his more often. So. Damn. Hot.
My favorite scene from castiel. After his first appearance 😍
I almost forgot about a time when Castiel wasn’t a joke. He was funny but man he was a very serious character
curse of the CW - characters start out scary and well written, like Castiel and Angels.
Several seasons later "lol angel's die with ease."
I think we forget Cas is an angel sometimes
ahhh the good ol' "look around crazily to show that the angels/demons disappear" lol
no one:
not a single soul:
*Tik Tok: *makes a tik tok about that**
I like that Castiel said that
I miss his messy hair haha
Every time I need fanfic inspiration for a badass Cas, I watch this. Right here was where I fell off the cliff of rationality as far as my brain went with this character ^^ I do miss the stern soldier though, as others have pointed out.
Same but I watch it for dom!Cas inspiration :P
Good lord Supernatural used to be incredible back then. But corporative greed ruined it avoiding the story to end in season 5 like it was supposed to. Maybe it would have been considered as one of the best series of all time.
Back when Angels, demons, and especially the whole Lucifer thing was actually intimidating.
I love this scene I get chills everytime I watch it man
Dean: "Angel's aren't supposed to be dicks"
Cas: "Read the bible."
Cas was so savage hahaha. He just confirmed angels are dicks in 3 words.
cas was so terrifying i dragged you out of hell, i can throw you back in
Dean's body language was great. He went from confident and confrontational to subdued and intimidated. The little head turn at the end to tty create disrance from Castiel was a great touch.
At first, Cass threats Dean. Now, they're besties!
And I think it was this scene. When we all decided we want him. We want to see more of Castiel. His attitude. Their interactions. Maybe more of them in the dark? But definitely more.
Wow Castiel's voice was so normal back then it went from hello in a soft voice to HELLO in a gruff voice lol😂
I miss this Cas, sure. But I wouldn't trade the Cas we have now for this Cas
The best addition to SPN.
I miss this castiel he used to have a back bone
"If you say mysterious ways, so lord help me, I will kick your ass." Had me rolling 😂😂
That's when Dean and me share the same thought...
I really enjoyed Cass when he was still like this yea he didn’t consider them family or anything but he was powerful because later on once he started caring more and not following rule he started being more venerable and that’s what caused him to lose his powers I still like Cass now but I also like him then
4:00 so many chills
The look on Castiels face at 1:32 was "oh my lord why did I get stuck with this fucking asshole....looks like I'm gonna have to put him in his place" *goes into scary badass mode* you should show me some respect I pulled you out of hell I can throw you back in.
so nobody is gonna talk about how much nervous Dean is when Castiel was getting closer in 4:06 and 4:20 😂😂😂!?
Dean really shouldn’t have been so surprised. Lucifer’s a fallen angel. He was literally In A Room with an angel.
''You think the armies of Heaven should just follow you around? There is a bigger picture here.''
oh yeah honey....
hi LadyOokami, I just want to thank you for posting all these cas scenes because it really helps me for my edit of cas! thanks again xx
Damn i miss this Castiel
here a few days after destiel went canon, looking at how far castiel has come, i'm abt to lose my mind
This is one of my most favourite scenes along with Death vs Godstiel when he explains what Leviathans are
Angels are multidimensional beings of pure energy and intelligence without any shape or form.
This was peak cas. I hate how the writers made him a total pushover over time
i wish they kept castiel like this for at least a 2-3 seasons. intimidating worrier of heaven who follows orders. this was my favorite cas for sure
I miss when Cas wasn't just comic relief
Best quote ever "3 Days ago you thought there was no such thing as me"!
Remember when Castiel didn't take shit from dean?? Good times 😌
I started dying from laughter when Dean interrupted Cas.
Castiel: The Lord works
Dean: if you say mysterious ways so help me I will kick your ass!
Castiel: 😑😑🤷🏻♀️
Edit: 1:43
Yup lol
Castiel is such a boss I love him. Dat insult tho the “I saved you from perdition, I can throw you back in” lol
Back when castiel was OP. Before the nerfbat turned badasstiel into Upperclasstiel
upperclass?
