That line about how he is has never fully followed orders combined with the whole first born slaying just makes me picture a younger Castiel standing in front of a small child and protecting it from the other angels because he sees the good in his soul and doesn't want them to snuff it out. Him trying to explain to the others that what they were doing was not the way to go.
This also explains earlier back in Season 5 I think. When Cass had left Jimmy's vessel. Cass was gonna warn Dean. But when he returned to Jimmy's vessel Cass was pretty much factory reset by Naomi.
I'm picturing Castiel in Egypt. Running around. Desperately painting doorways. Ushering humans inside safe houses, "in here! Get in! Get in!" Trying to save as many people as possible.
Firstborn slaying? The implications... I don't want to imagine but... i always wondered why Cas seem like a blank slate when he first appeared. He'd gotten reinstitutionalized not too long ago. oh my god no no no nononononono not my baby
@@hom1980 In Castiel's first appearence he is like a robot or a good soldier just following orders, but in this video Niome states that castiel has alway's had a rebellios streak and has had to be reset more than once as such I would speculate that before Cas first appeared in the show, he was questioning wether the apocolypse really had to happen and because he was reset again.
I feel so sad because I totally forgot about Crowley's angel killing bullets and it was such a new concept in season 12. Now I just wanna give credit where credit's due.
I remember that scene! When I realised that he is quoting Balthazar, I started to scream and squee and talk to myself XD I guess that because of my beloved Balthy
Personally I like to think the friend he's talking about is Balthazar because he said "oh and tell Raphael to bite me" those were his exact words, it totally fits!
Honestly how are the angels worse than the demons on this show, apart from Cas obviously. I don't understand how Cas is this badass, caring, righteous, adorable, self sacrificing, leader who cares about humans and humanity whereas every other angel we've ever seen is a plain asshole with ulterior motives. How are they the same family?
I like the way Lucifer portrays the Angels over Supernatural. In Lucifer, they're still prideful dicks who think they're better, but only ever do what they think is right for the Universe and Humanity in general. They also care about their family. Even though Remiel looked down on Humans, she still loves her nephew and thought what was best for him was to be raised in Heaven with its Celestial family. And Angels like Azrael and Zadkiel showed that they even respect Humans to an extent. Zadkiel sided with Lucifer because of his love for a human. Michael was really the only evil Angel, which I loved because it turned the most famous Archangel into everything the Bible paints the Devil as. In Supernatural, Angels would kill their brothers and sisters without thinking twice about it. But Lucifer showed how much pain it caused them when one of their siblings is killed like Uriel and Remiel.
@@ahsokarules2369 Don't forget Gabriel. When Lucifer thought he killed Gabriel for the first time, Lucifer looked on the verge of tears. Lucifer actually still very much loves his family, he just can't see past his rage at being cast out.
@@alltheworldsastage4785 Michael eradicated his own sister and threatened to do the same to his other siblings all to get control of Heaven and replace their father. How is that not evil?

Nooo... It was the weakest by far... crowely with a bad ass anti angel gun who said only the angel blades could kill a angel? well crowely just went and got more modern with his angel hunting kit apparently

It's probably due to the Nazi's very famous real-world obsession with occult objects. The luger also takes small rounds, ideal for killing angels and making the maximum amount of bullets - and the gun is very reliable for a WWII era weapon. Given that "The Colt" is the best killing gun out there, it's likely that Luger has some significance to the design of the angel-killing gun, given that Sam and Dean never tried to replicate the design. It'd make sense, since Ruby knew how to make the Colt better. Given that the supernatural would have existed in WWII, it's very likely we had some "Wolfenstein" level stuff going on there too, and given the Nazi's inhumane level of experimentation and access to bodies, it's likely they learned a great many things unholy.
The angels have been corrupt since Lucifer was cast into Hell. God left Heaven and Michael and Raphael took over. They saw humans as expendable pawns and killed thousands.
I swear this scene makes Naomi look like the supidest villain ever. The instance she sees Crowley with the gun, she could use her angel levitation powers to either move the gun to her hand or knock Crowley across the room. She could teleport really fast behind him and put her hand on him and kill him. Seriously, Crowley should be dead in two seconds.
