    Great video. Us Banadiris have only two things left to validate our existence and history. One are our properties, 2 are our unique languages and 3 is the vast amount of written history.

    In my opinion, one of the most important actions you are taking is to remove from anonymity all those scholars who have dedicated time and energy to the study of the Banaadir and his people. These scholars are well known among academics and researchers but little known to the majority of the public. Therefore, this channel is of great help for those who want to learn more about the history of this part of the world and of those connected with it, without running the risk of getting lost by slipping into the dumping ground of disinformation which is the other side of the coin of democracy.

    This was such an informative video and I really encourage people to read Prof. Reese's book Renewers of the Age which provides great insight about the social and religious history of the Banaadir region and people. I really do wonder who the famous historian was that said he wouldn't find much there, which makes no sense for a historian to believe in because the main part of the job is to figure out the history of said people, which does a huge disservice to a community that has been existing for centuries and played a significant role in the Indian Ocean trade network.

    Quote from Scott rease: “through many of his genealogical lists, was well aware that a number of rural clans (such as the Hawiye) had important urban ties while a considerable number of urban clans (the Bendawow, for example) could point to ancestors with pastoral origins. Such links were often important elements in rural-urban commercial relationships that were the lifeblood of the community. fi Aydarüs’s goal was not to cut urbanites off from the rest of Somali society but to make them a distinctive part of it; an a genda he reveals in his discussion of urban genealogies.”
    Banadir=somali civilization.

      I love how you guys love to claim moorshe and bandhabow when you're going on an unuka leh rant but then you gladly oppress them when it comes to politics. Haye, if moorshe and bandhabow are asli natives of Xamar then why on earth are there people from Cadaado taking their rights? If the real natives of Xamar like moorhso and bandhabow are under "Banaadiri" and not lamagoodle tribes then how can the lamagoodle be "native". Think, just use your brain

      Bandar is coast in Persian, benaadir is coasts plural.

    • @Abu_Masla7
      @Abu_Masla7 Рік тому +6

      Banaadir is plural of Bandar , Bandar is a word of Persian origin but used in Arabic , it has multiple meanings from them is 1-port , 2- coastal city 3- A city which other villages fall under. In this case it would mean a coastal city , and it's plural for banaadir is for multiple coastal cities/towns ie warsheekh, xamar, jaziira, dhanaane, jilib marka, marka,mungiya, barawa, goobweyn etc .
      Historically Dir have no relevance in banaadir, Banaa doesn't mean "land of" so it doesn't mean land of dir nor does it mean built by dir , Banaa in arabic is past tense of build and it's in singular form, dir is a clan confederacy it should be in plural form if it really means built by dir.
