Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 сер 2019
- Christian Olde Wolbers discovered music at an early age after finding his mother's Elvis Presley collection. Not long after, he unearthed the world of punk, hardcore and heavy metal and would go on to play with the likes of Fear Factory, Arkaea, Nailbomb, Powerflo and Evolution Empire.
Christian recently stopped by the Gibson Showroom in Los Angeles to share stories of his career in music while checking out the brand new Explorer B-2 from Gibsons new "Modern Collection."
The Explorer B-2 features a satin black finish with black chrome hardware and equipped with Dirty Fingers + pickups deliver aggressive styling, sound and performance.
Classic Explorer styling and all mahogany construction, with a rosewood fingerboard and fast, slim taper neck. The essential one volume, one tone and 3-way pickup selector switch keep the controls functional and intuitive.

You can never stop learning. There's so many Mysteries between those 12 frets.
Burton left Dino Cazares. It would be great if him and Christian reunite with Raymond to bring back Fear Factory version of Archetype period.)))
dream!
It will never happen. Christian and Raymond don’t like Burton.
That being said it was an affair that made it not possible.
Best age Archetype
Bro... that would be pure amazing...
One of my favorite guitarplayers. Still miss him in fear factory. He's a cool dude! And powerflo sounds sick as well!!!
Rick Grimes S5 Me too! I was so stoked when i managed to get a private video lesson with him one time and i was just the happiest dude ever.
I know every fear factory album very well and i say that the albums with cristian on the guitars are 100% one of the very best fear factoy albums. I would dare to say in fact the 2 of them on the top 5 from fear factory. really great great job as a guitarrist. i love those 2 albums with cristian
You honestly think Transgression is as good as Demanufacture??
I've always felt that Demanufacture and Archetype are their best 2 without any close competition. But I can't say Transgression is as good as either of those 2 albums.
Well, Baton С. Bell said that Transgression is an experiment.
Nice to see him happy. Dude needs to focus on what he loves and leave the past in the past.
Love you Christian. Keep hammering those tunes mate.
this guy has such a killer rhythm
Miss him in FF :(
But on guitar!🤟 Happy i ve seen FF live on 2005 tour. Grest memories
FF live gigantour with him is fucking killer. That line up should have stayed strong
I love this guy. He is a machine.
Cyclone one of my all time favorite bands. Found them way back in the 80's in high school. cool he mentioned them
I love how this guitar sounds
fear factory 🤘🤘
Make an explorer without the pickguard like the 84 version. U know like James Hetfields
Theres the epiphone 84. Gibson have made a few too, i wouldnt mind the 2016 faded or the 2014 benchmark.
Take the pickguard off?
@@PaulisinDenver Then you'll have to see the screw holes and the toggle switch wires (on the regular Explorer.) The Explorer Pro has no pickguard though, albeit with a slightly smaller body.
Hetfields was an ESP, but yeah they should
@@untilitsleeps087 Yeah but he had a Gibson before his endorsement with ESP.
The guitar, the amp, the right hand and this t-shirt!! Only champs in this video!! 😎👊
thank you bro!
@@christianoldewolbers7243 Good to see and hear you. I met you at an Ozzfest show back in the day in Massachusetts. You and Raymond were very accommodating and kind to us fans. I know it was a big deal for me to meet the people I listened to on cd. Thanks.
Good to see Christian riffing again. I imagine he is used to 7 strings so this was probably out of his comfort zone too. You know, the funny thing is, despite him saying Hetfield is his big influence, his main riffing influence is ironically Dino Cazares.
Well he used to be in FF after all haha
@@RickGrimesS5 on bass he was amazing. I'm sure he'd love to be back in FF. Not sure why Burton and Dino can't get over their fucking egos and reform with the original guys. Time is running out for them, they could be making good money touring as FF, the whole thing is fucking dumb as fuck.
@@revivedfears Yeah man.. I believe I saw one of your comments on a post of dino asking about a new fear factory album, Did he delete your comment or block you?
@@RickGrimesS5 yeah he blocked me. Pretty dissappointing of him to be honest.
haha sooo out of my comfort zone ..and in E tuning lol
appreciate your message brother
My favorite guitarist!
That’s some awesome chugging! I wish Christian would pick up guitars again
Nice video❤❤🔥
Your picking is fucking badass
nice pfp 🇺🇸
I actually discovered that James partially got the only down picking thing from Tony Iommi. James said in a video with Guitar Center that Black Sabbath was his favorite band, and in the official video for their self-titled song during the interlude before the solo, there is a few seconds of screentime consisting of Tony down picking the riff.
Ooooo I’m stealing some of these licks and playing them on my new B2 Flying V!🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
awesome!!!
Crazy to hear how much his American accent has improved since the Digital Connectivity DVD
Agreed. James Hetfield is the reason I picked up the guitar.
...and Kirk Hamet!!
@@SUBtRONiX213 Kirk is great too. But the riffs I wanted to play were all written by James.
Not to mention that I always wanted to downpick like him as well. But that's still sort of a dream of mine.
This guitar is amazing because it’s got dirty finger pickups in it like my e2 explorer had back in 83 , ppl buy Duncan’s and dimazio etc but they overlook a classic Gibson metal pickup , the dirty finger
It sounds mean as shit
So fierce.!!!!!
Dirty Fingers pickups are the best pickups ever!!!
I have a set in my 82 V, they are not a really hot pickup.
not so much of a fan to be honest. needs a EMG 81
@@christianoldewolbers7243 how can you not like that sound it's meanicing
Actives for that clean but mechanical note machine sound yup
James Hetfield!!!! 🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘🎸😎😎 and he still uses Gibsons to this day since he first started playing guitar, his first guitar was a 1969 Gibson SG with the tremolo bar, he kicks ass still to this day and he’s truly a huge influence on heavy metal rhythm guitar for so many musicians, even in their late 50s early 60s Metallica still kicks ass, and I had the privilege of going to see metallica for the very first time last year on August 14, 2022 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at PNC Park and that was truly a great concert and probably my favorite concert ever!! I got a chance to see my all time favorite heavy metal band and it took 30 years to make that happen, it will be an experience that I will never forget!! 🤘🎸🤘🎸🤘
I had the Ace Frehley poster too.
Love the Explorer. I don't like the modern models with the alnico pickups in them. Much prefer their ceramic humbuckers. Mine has the 500T which sounds fantastic. CAn't wait to try those DF's+
00:17 Supernova?
niceeeeeeeee
If Gibson can do a thing with Kirk Hammett while he's endorsed with ESP then they should grab James up real quick for an 84 EXP reissue that's all white, no pick gaurd, locking tail and brige piece with locked tuners and most crucial of all, no black painted headstock.
I remember when I first heard the opening speed picked gallop of slave labor as a teenager. I will never forget it.
AUTHENTIC!!!
Anyone understand his insane picking technique???? It's insane!!
All hail the mighty E chug.
🤘🔥🎸♥
feae factory update. FEAR FACTORY UPDATE NOW! i gotta see ff live lol. anyone remember the ol' Jackson COW though? maybe wolbers followed Dinos brand switch too 😂
The COW was better than any guitar dick head dino has had lol
The COW is one the best guitar I had!
That ugly Dinky was better than Dino’s guitars? Are you drunk?
Not to mention Christian’s tone is NO. WHERE. near Dino’s. foh
@@WhatWillBecome1 Yeah sure.
🤘🤘🤘
Is This The Guy That Always Comments Things To Loudwire?
Yes
💪🏻💪🏻
fear factory!!
Wish I would've snatched up a lefty B2 before they got bought up.
Would love a Gibson James hetfield signature guitar
Hes been with esp for a long time
Gibson should jump at the opportunity of TV commercials with a Joe Shmo like me as there are no ads on TV for any brand guitar any where in North America.
Joe Shmo does America commercials. Oh ya, I am not an actor, just a printer who loves my Gibson Guitar.
Do you guys have any les paul prototypes you could sell me?
They really missed the mark putting a rosewood fingerboard in stead of ebony.
This may be a stupid question buy why?
@@buckodonnghaile4309 Because everyone just buys a guitar for the looks, if not, then every guitar would be equal. The ebony fretboard gives the guitar a "Metal" look
@@Francisco17Berrios makes sense,thanks.
@@buckodonnghaile4309 looks like a tux with a brown shirt haha
Is this the Guitar the exaktly Same like motörhead?
They should of sold these for 999 they would of made a bundle but instead they over price everything. Shot they sue me for saying that lol
in 0:53...is that a song or is he just playing freestyle?
freestyling... in E haha
His favorite guitar player is Dino.
lol
Same here...
What amp/pedal is this, help me out comment section!?
Release the 1984
Fear Factory Lite.
No Silver Burst, No Sale.
cool looking silverbursts are kinda scarce though

Gibson you better reissue the 7 string Explorer and flying v!
Fanned fret 8-string headless Moderne would be even better
@@mordentus lol
Dang the fret board looks dry
This guitar or Schecter E-1 sls Elite Evil Twin?
Cow rules!!!
hope you're well bro!
Nice playing, I don't like the tone tho. (there is nothing wrong with the guitar, I probably dont like the amp setting or something)
James hetfield did broadcast it around.
It was actually Chuck Schildiner and dimebag Darrell that made the Chugga Chugga sound popular. Then Slipknot after Metallica. Of course other bands before Slipknot but Slipknot used the Chugga Chugga tone at another level. Hence why Slipknot is my generation's Metallica.
You're wrong and also stupid.
So there is hope for my fat, round, short fingers yet.
And it's waste cutting those guitars because you have many hours per guitar fat labor rates and you write them off. Shitty production isn't the tax payers problem it's yours. I played a 1 in 100 59 Les Paul. 10k.
Top 5 I've played worst guitars 35 years. Which means the CEO I chiseling stock share options and is blowing out Gibson. Next
Why don't the original members just reunite and stop fighting and suing..how/ why does Burton own the name? And his fucking wife!!!??!?
What a friggin racket.
Exactly. Its awesome!
Bad representation of this guitar I have it along with several high end Gibson’s and it fits right in has great clear thick tone not like this muddy ass demo and the rosewood is AAA
The pickups in this thing are garbage. Played one in a store and it sounded this fizzy through both a Mesa MkV and Orange Rockerverb. Otherwise its ok. Not super inspiring, but not crap either
Your orZcticw of cutting guitars iver blemishes ends here. You wasting a limited resources. Stop or get out.
Man, that dry ass fretboard and pickguard completely ruin this model. Christian should go back to Jackson.
And still a useless tone control on a metal guitar.
Sorry bro you sound good. But you said James Hetfield was your influence? Do you realize Dave mustaine taught james how to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Megadeth!!!!!!!!!!!
That's not even true
Hetfield is a down picking machine. Mustaine alternates and trems. Hetfield was playing guitar in high school with his 69 SG he bought off his buddy. Do some research dude
2020 friend, wake up, forget it
How does he get the most garbage tones out of the best amps? He did the same thing with the Krank Krankenstein too.. WTF? Can he not hear himself?
Nah.
Cause of this dude there's no new fear factory album trying to bite of what dino burton and raymond built
Chris P. Bacon Christian is a grade A prick, like the time he went on a massive rant because he didn’t get the bassist position in Machine Head. He also thinks his guitar era in Fear Factory defines the band and the second the video came out of when they first played ‘Archetype’ with Dino, he was quick to ridicule the performance. Nothing but a bitter baby who throws tantrums when he doesnt get his way. Cant stand this bellend
Boo hoo
The most generic guitar player ever
I love his playing here. Its got teeth. Very clean, no strings ringing out. Just a strong attack and a bombardment of the E string
Stick to bass. You can't imitate Dino man. You're not even an original member lol. Look up the 1st CD you all.
Who cares
Dude this is like your third or fourth time on this video bashing Christian. How bout you let him stick to actually being talented and you stick to sucking off Dino's greasy mexican churro?
@@kdtons4670 u dew
Archetype was an amazing album. He’s a good guitar player.
Whats the name of the literally the first song/riff?
